That was a terrifyingly tragic story. Place yourselves in Joseph's shoes: his baby momma, whom he loves, asked of him to put her down, and he wants to do what she wants since he loves her so much. What makes it only so much worse is she asked him to do so after giving birth and seeing her precious child only moments before her virus began to kick in. It's beautifully balanced in the transfer of one life for another. Furthermore, Joseph can't just give up his life now that the love of his life is gone. He has a baby to look after and raise, and he knows he'll have to eventually spoil the truth to his daughter.

I actually live in the Listuguj/Restigouche community, and I'm Mi'qmaq First Nation. And it was really awesome to see this movie being shot in several places here in the community.
Certain places like the church with the silver roof; which was Saint Anne's church, which burnt down during the spring of 2021 last year - the only thing left of it now is the walls.
Another place is of course the Van Horne bridge that you see right in the beginning of the movie; where you also see a shot of the city of Campbellton and the City Centre mall. They had to close the bridge at night for a while so they can shoot for the movie at the time of filming.
And even my great grandfather was one of the Iron Workers who helped with the construction of the bridge a long time ago.
And one last place is the small lodge right next to the beach next to the river, which is right next to the Pow Wow ground, right next to where the church is.
Petition for the flopping fish to be a reoccurring character on The Kill Count.

Fun fact: Lysol was first used as sexual medicine, but it didn't sold well. When they found out about its cleaning capabilities. They started to sell it as a cleaner, and the rest is history. Which is good thing, because Lysol has substances corrosive to skin.

hey, Nova Scotia here. the first pronunciation of Mi'kmaq is typically the right one. The second pronunciation is an anglicized version that isn't usually used anymore. there is a mall here called "Mic Mac Mall" after that mispronounced version lol
