    6:42 "And the front is open... AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" kills me EVERY TIME. Also, fun fact: it's not Ed who keeps leaving the front door open, it's Shaun, you can tell because when he gets back from the shop he doesn't close it behind him and that's how the groom zombie gets in.

    Actually noticed this after rewatching for the 10th time, the part where shaun is shooting the zombies that are pouring through the windows in the pub and ed is telling him where to shoot, is exactly the same callouts shaun gives ed at the start of the movie whilst hes playing the video game, i know there is alot of reoccurring moments similar to that, its shocking how after watching the movie so many times i still pick up on new subtle details, amazing movie

    Fun Fact:
    There was originally gonna be a scene showing how Shaun got away from the horde.
    It explained that, while leading them away from the Winchester, he had to stop and wait for them to catch up every now and then because they couldn't keep up

    Fun fact, there was actually a comic about Shaun running from the hoard of zombies only to realise that they were slow and he had to keep waiting. He eventually hid for some time and then went back to the pub without any trouble.

    5:49 That made me so happy. I love that James called the Telephone box a Tardis, because I absolutely adore Doctor Who.
    Also, as someone who is British, I’m so happy that James covered this film, because it’s one of my all time favourite British ‘horror, comedy’ movies, including Attack The Block(which is more of an urban realism film than horror, but it’s got death and aliens, so whatever).

    One little detail worth pointing out is that at that Winchester bar scene at the beginning, Ed basically outlines the plot of the movie but in the form of a pub crawl
    "We'll have a Bloody Mary first thing, have a bite at the King's Head, a couple at the Little Princess, we'll stagger back here... BANG! Back at the bar for shots"

    Fun fact: Simon Pegg was originally supposed to be Hughie in The Boys. The character in the comic was drawn to look like Simon Pegg. But "The Boys" took so long to adapt that Simon Pegg got too old for the role.

    Fun fact in a deleted scene David actually gets his apology out and his girlfriend literally says “thank you David, that took guts” and right after that we get to the scene where hes torn to shreds (with his guts being ripped out but thats obvious), but was left out for running time and to ensure the scene would remain horrific rather than comedic justice. Ngl i totally get it cause knowing that makes that death scene comedically dark.

    Ed and Shaun are maybe my favorite duo in comedy movie history. They got such a great chemistry between the two and that’s mostly thanks to the real life friendship of Pegg and Frost. It’s a true highlight of This movie.

    I grew up watching this movie, ever since it first came out. I love this movie, and I'd even go as far as to say it's one of the best movies I ever experienced during my lifetime. I was 4 when it first came out, and it was a major part of why I love all things spooky, creepy, and maybe even scary. It's why zombies are my favorite horror movie monster type. Every time Philip dies, I am brought to tears due to the fact that growing up I didn't really have a father, just father figures. Thank you for covering this movie, James, it means a lot to me.

Ed foreshadows the entire movie to Shawn early in the movie. before the zombie apacolyspe starts he is talking to shawn about his plans for the night "Starting with a bloody mary ( Mary in the back yard), a bite at the King's head (Philip gets bit in the neck) Get more at the little princess (pick up the others) and stagger back to the bar for shots (they pretend to be zombies to get into the Winchester where they shoot zombies)"

It's just there if you notice it, but it's not an obnoxious, "aren't we so funny" bit that is so common in other comedies of that era. It also serves the story and character. It shows us how Shaun is a constantly put-upon drone wherever he goes.

    11:59 two things to point out in this shot, 1. the guy in the brown jacket is Reece Shearsmith, a British actor known for dark comedies such as league of gentlemen and inside no. 9 (watch them, they're amazing), and 2.       All three films of the trilogy have fantastic writing full of foreshadowing
      Like the way Pegg's character describes what's going to happen drinking on the pub crawl mirrors what happens with the aliens at each pub

    This movie was the first horror movie i ever watched, its always been one of the reasons i got into horror. I have a small emotional attachment to this since this sparked my love for bloody slashers. Im know older and have tons of horror movies like jigsaw all the saws cabin in the woods and much much more, i am thankful for this amazing movie and i also thank you for covering this movie from my childhood.

    I went on a movie date with my girlfriend to see this movie in a local theater thats known for showing predominantly horror movies, and they gave us a blow up baseball bat to hit each other with every time you saw a zombie. On it, theres just "You've got red on you" in bold red letters.
    Best damn date of my life. I still have the bat.
