This seems like some are pretending to feel as disgusted as possible by meat to “prove” how repulsive it is. It is true though that meat can taste quite strange after years of not eating it. I was a vegetarian for 15 years (nearly vegan but not 100%), but for health reasons I decided to reintegrate some meat & animal products back into my diet. When I first tasted meat again, it wasn’t really delicious, at all. But it didn’t make me gag either. It was just.. really strange! I had to readjust to the texture, taste, etc. Over time a got used to a few items, & some I just never started eating again. I think meat lovers think that if a vegetarian eats meat they’ll be like 🤤 but it’s really generally just a more neutral feeling. Those freaking out may also be ethical believers that eating meat is wrong, which makes them feel emotionally distraught when eating it.

Well said! Always interesting to hear real life experience with it. If people haven't eaten meat in years, I could also see that they would be more sensitive about the quality of the meat and some of the stuff in the video looked mediocre. Probably applies to any food category. In general, most of us just shove too much crap into our bodies.

I tried to go vegan a few times in my life, but each time I developed allergies to plant-based proteins, when I had to eat them in large enough quantities to make them a primary protein source. Since I have no choice but to eat meat for protein, I've developed a philosophy regarding the meat I eat. I only eat animals that would eat me if they had the chance. For example, birds would definitely eat me if I died outdoors somewhere, so I can eat birds. Fish would eat me if I died in the ocean, so I can eat them. A cow would never eat me, so cows are off the menu. Pigs would probably eat me but they're not kosher, so they get a free pass. Fair enough!

I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I try to cut down on my meat consumption. I can totally sympathize with the women feeling like it was so much chewing. That's actually one of the reasons I am not a huge fan of beef. It's also my least favorite in terms of flavor. I frequently get tired of eating steak about halfway through one. I prefer chicken and pork by far. I can imagine that some of the flavors are not appetizing after so long not eating them, but the lady after only a year, I find that hard to believe.

Check out how dense and valuable beef is when it comes to nutrients and vitamins. Especially bioavailability of the Vitamins comes with it because of high quality animal fat. Also generally, animal proteins are far more easy to use for the human body than proteins from plants.
So, consuming with consciousness and choosing high quality organic meat, beef should be definitely part of a healthy diet.
The current Zeitgeist that meat is ”evil“ and its consumption should be reduced is a misconception, in my opinion. Processed food and overconsumption of sugar cause lifestyle deseases not consumption of high quality meat.

@@PianistStefanBoetel it's like you didn't read anything I said. I try to cut down because of the impact on the animals and the environment, not health. Plus, I do not like the taste of beef, at least steak. Go write your own comment if you're not going to read mine before you reply and just feel like spouting your random thoughts.

  • @brianblackburn5238

I agree! The quality of the food they were presented looked rather sad and pathetic. The only thing that I would call half decent in quality was the wings. Also, I do feel that a lot of vegans turn their diet into a religion and look down on others that aren’t vegan. I got into a conversation with a group of vegans on Facebook a while back and everyone but the one friend of mine was just berating me about how barbaric eating meat was. What they wouldn’t even allow themselves to consider is that most animals that we eat are not vegans and all of them have natural predators that wouldn’t pause for a second to consider what their prey is about to feel when they attack.

I am late to the game, just discovered the video.
My opinion: The human is an Omnivore.
Back then, we ate meat, whenever we could, but we also ate berries, mushrooms and other edible plants. And over time our bodies adapted to it.
Best thing is to have a nice balance. Because if you start to cut out one or the other over longer periods of time you find yourself in a position where you have to take pills to even out on missing proteins or vitamins and that again leads to either feeling the need to be active but you can watch your muscles shrink (that why SLIM and SKINNY is actually two different things) OR you have a ton of energy but don't use it because you don't feel like it and watch your stomache grow (MUSCULAR and FAT are also two different things).
The body actually needs a balanced diet to function properly.
Today having a nice steak or a "Schnitzel" or a pork knuckle or whatever .. awesome. Tomorrow having veggie ravioli ... also awesome.

I do eat meat myself but definitely not an overabundance of it, I guess I'm more of a borderline flexitarian. I'd most likely never be able to do vegan but at some point I'd like to get to full vegetarian. There are definitely alot of people trying to be the trendy vegan/veg., which is just weird. For me it's more of a care and concern for the environment, as well as being a huge animal lover. Also, that food was definitely so sad looking, omg 😂
