    So turns out those extra bearings are for using the 9052r steel shafts..the rear will not except those large bearings...I just pulled my hair out trying to figure this out...traxxas ts to the rescue

    the extra bearing included is for the new metal spline extreme heavy duty cv driveshaft #tra9050r that they have release in conjunction . they used two 6x12mm bearing in the back but fear not they are trash. broke to stub axle already. the plastic one are super hella great !

      Thanks for the update. We found the plastic axles included with the EHD kit are great when it comes to durability!

    Just ordered this for my Hoss, I feel this should of been OEM on the Hoss for the price you pay

      That is awesome, which colour did you go with? That is a good point it would also help differentiate the differences for each of the 1/10 4x4 VXL models that are very similar with much different price tags

      @@ultrarchobbies it hope so! This is going to be my first RC. I couldn't afford one when I was young but recently ran into an old friend who has an original traxxas rustler nitro! Got me hooked :).

    Could someone please micrometer the pin that is included that holds the metal 12 mm hex? Trying to figure out if it’s the same size as the stock Maxx pin that holds the plastic 17mm wheel adapter on. I know the Maxx pin is longer but wondering about the diameter this would make for an easy cheap 17mm conversion.

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  Před 8 měsíci +1

      We did some measuring on the EHD hexes / pins - TRA9069 and the pins are 2.0mm x 9.7mm. The Maxx pins / hexes - TRA8956 are 2.5mm x 14mm

      @@ultrarchobbies Thank you for getting this info for me. Basically they are the stock pins, I wonder if I could drill them out as there is more metal now that they are 6mm shafts like the stock Maxx half shafts.

      Are the pins supposed to to lock the metal hubs like the old plastic ones do. I can’t get them to lock in. Already lost a pin. Had to put tires on super tight

    The reason it doesn't list Stampede is because the shock towers are the difference they do fit the stampede with a little modifications....shock towers are not a direct fit to stampede that's why they do not list it. So technically it's not for a stampede....but will (did) work....👍👍

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  Před 2 lety

      That is great to know, what modifications are required? We were a little stumped as the slash 4x4 and stampede 4x4 use the exact same shock tower and same rear body mount just a different front body mount.

    • @randyperez5465
      @randyperez5465 Před rokem +1

      Front body mount is what doesn’t allow for direct assembly on stampede. Traxxas just posted a tutorial to adapt it to a stampede. Extra bearings are for steel drive shafts

      Update they just released new Stampede with new shocks towers. It's really reusing the Hoss platform with 2s powertrain.

    Does anyone know if the extreme hd steel driveshafts work with this kit?

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  Před rokem

      Thanks for the comment! Traxxas has specifically designed two new driveshafts for the EHD kit: TRA9051R - Front & TRA9052R - Rear

      Sweet thanks! I have the 9051x and 9052x shafts currently. Can I just swap these axles and save some money?

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  Před rokem

      @@FrostyBk2 we don’t have any experience with doing this yet so I would double check that these parts are interchangeable. But looking at it the only difference is the “R” part number is for 6mm stub axles (included in the EHD kit), whereas the “X” part number is for 5mm stub axles. You may be able to change the stub axle to TRA9054 in the front and 9053 in the back to convert those axles to 6mm. But I would double check with Traxxas live chat to ensure those parts work together.
