I grew up in the 2000's era and I remember 2009 being the most boring year of entertainment for me. All I really had to entertain me was tv, and with how bad it got, I was just a sitting rock, bored out of my mind. Made me really appreciate good cartoons from then on
Ben 10 is by far my favourite series of Cartoon Network’s library. The series became my childhood back in 2007 and I enjoyed every single one of the seasons except for the reboot.
Same. I got into the show in early 2010, around the end of Alien Force, and the beginning of Ultimate Alien. I watched the shows all the time, collected toys and DVDs, and my mom even made me a Ben 10 jacket for Halloween. I started losing interest in mid-2012 when Omniverse aired. I just never got into it like the other two.
Flapjack is another notable show as people cite this as the major influence to animation for many creators
Adventure Time, Regular Show and My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic are my 3 all time favourite animated tv shows of 2010
Are you going to do Nickelodeon for the next Animation Lookback?
This guy forgot about The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. WHAT?! It was for that show how J.G Quintel, Alex Hirsch, Patrick McHale, and Pendleton Ward eventually made their own cartoons! It was like the Chicken Little savior of Cartoon Network! Not to be rude but, still.
Maybe Flapjack didn't had enough facts?
Fun fact, there were plans for a Chowder movie, it would've involved Chowder finding half of a map to 'Pie Island' where the ultimate gravy recipe lies, and he, alongside Pinini who had the other half, would've ventuerd to find the island. Along the way, they would've met many new characters, like a beach rat named Picanahey (voiced by Matthew Macanahey) and his band of 'Pie Rats' (HAH!). It was scraped mostly because CH Greanblat didn't like the direction the project was going.
Regular Show for me is one of my favorite cartoons. Not only for me, but also my Dad LOVES this show.
I liked the Canadian shows and Chowder. That was some of the best parts from the dark era.
The Renaissance Era was amazing, but now they're both gone...
not to mention Jake and Finn made an appearance on an episode of Futurama!
Regular Show is A Future Classic. I'm glad it ended before it became Stale. I like how it could be quite Mature at times
Well it’s better to have shows start and last for a short time than to never exist at all
The romance episodes were what I would argue are stale.
I love the rant you made on CN Real. Though I’ve seen lots of rants about CN showing live-action, yet none of them ever talk about “The Flixx”, which showed live-Action movies on Sunday afternoons for quite a long time, and that’s worth ranting about just as much as the other stuff.
I also wanted to make a rant about Boomerang: They’re no longer airing the original Powerpuff Girls anymore, and are instead airing the 2016 SERIES!
Unnatural History & Tower Prep are 2 good shows that nobody talks about because they came in at the tail end of the CN Real train wrack.
And those are pretty solid shows
For The Flixx that’s not even a hated thing since in reality, a large majority of animated films are from Disney
@@mechmaster315 What do animated films by Disney have to do with The Flixx?
YOU TAKE THE MOON AND YOU TAKE THE SUN
Jakethedog3275 You take everything that seems like fun!
You stir it all up and then your done!
ROTTA ROTTA ROTTA RO ROTTA RA
@@JAKECOT_CENTER Come on in feel free to do some looking Something's always cooking yeah
I freaking love Chowder as a kid.
I remember the live-action shows. Even I knew they were terrible, and that was back when I loved anything
I guess Ben 10 is now Cartoon Network's Golden Egg Goose.
Here’s a lesson for Cartoon Network
If a Cartoon Show is popular, just reintroduce it, Don’t REMAKE it!!
(Big difference)
I Love Adventure Time and Regular Show
Same.
I’m glad Regular Show got turned into a series, but I wonder what would’ve happened if the cartoonstitute was still kept alive
Wow, no wonder why Cartoon Network went downhill?!! Thanks a lot, executives! No wonder why my beautiful childhood disappeared.
It was me Barry I ruined CN
I love that comment about fox
*triggered that he did Finn the human and Jake the dog not Jake the dog and Finn the human!*
I am ashamed that I was introduced to Cartoon Network when they took the cartoon out of Cartoon Network when I was channel surfing and saw a live action show on the channel instead of a cartoon back in 2009.
Did you forget that the Mooninite light brites were also planted in other cities and that Boston was the only one to freak out about it?
And that other people decided to take the devices from the other cities and sell them on eBay
And little did we know, Adventure Time would later give us the tale of Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl...and Steven!
I remember Tickle U was the first exposure to Peppa Pig in the US. I still remember the American Dub for well since George's crying sounded more annoying than the UK one.
I always thought Cartoon Network had an older tone for it’s shows than Nickelodeon
(No wonder Peppa Pig was moved to Nick Jr.)
@@akganimationstudioproducti3779they thought the pig was more profitable I guess
Ben 10 still is awesome to me as have the old watch still.
I LOVE THE ORIGINAL BEN 10 TV SHOW!!
I need that song that plays during the Ben 10 segment..
Yeah we needed it
Adventure Time is the influential show of the decade. A show that started simple but cool to something amazing and complex. It inspired many animators to go deep in their stories. Also, which show inspired a mega fan base to animated shows, Adventure Time or MLP?
I love Adventure Time and Regular Show they both are my all time favourite Cartoon Network shows
I remember the CN real block. They had this stupid theme about "why not give the real world a try" or something to that effect and I was like "because I'm watching cartoon network, stupid."
Y know the world would be a better place if CN Real didn't Exist.
Such great shows.
Maybe in the next ALCN, Matt will cover the show’s The Amazing World of Gumball, Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe, and Clarence
johnnymanize What about We Bare Bears?
Club Dog Remember, Matt can only discuss 4 shows at a time. In the next one he’ll most likely discuss We Bare Bears, Mighty Magiswords and OK KO Let’s Be Heroes
johnnymanize and the 2016 Powerpuff Girls Reboot
Alex Perrine Well, screw that show!
Kieran Stark Wait, AniMat hates the reboot!?!?
I just realized that Adventure Time was probably the most influential cartoon of the 2010’s. I mean, tons of shows that came after AT have been trying to emulate it in some way
Adventure-Time is perfection., it is brillance., it is flawless., a masterpiece of absolute-genius., i instantly became a freaking-huge fan of the series from the very-beginning & to this very moment., this is the greatest show period.,,.
Good. Because there was too much real.
That, and it saved the channels' reputation.
Adventure Time open the door for new and Better shows like gumball or regular show okay KO and Steven universe
Even MLP?
The History of Cartoon Network part 4 - Animation Lookback
0:09 - Ben 10
5:59 - Tickle U, 2007 Boston Mooninite panic and Teletoon
9:10 - Chowder
14:08 - CN Live Action shows and the end of CN's golden era.
17:45 - Adventure Time
24:55 - Regular Show
Are you gonna talk about The Amazing World of Gumball, Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe, Clarence and We Bare Bears in Part 5?
Club Dog don’t forget the secret Saturdays
Club Dog he talks about the shows on Cartoon Network that are really popular and have a huge backstory to it, so he might but I don’t think he will talk about Clarence.
yesssssssssssssss ben 10 was my life
Same here.
the reboot sucks like where was my childhood new cartoon network
Animat, Ben 10: Protector of Earth, was my Childhood!
Regular show was not for kids at first and was originally going to Adult Swim
Am I the only one who likes the look of the cn real shows?
14:21-14:35 Trust me, it ain't JUST a Fox problem.
BTW, Regular Show is my favorite CN show of the decade.
Its Been A LLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNGG Time Since I Saw The Live-Action Ben 10 Movie, And I Can't Remember If It Was Good And/Or Bad!!
Ah yes, the dark times of Cartoon Network, when they decided to focus way more on reality TV garbage than animation....it was a sad time for us all.....but it's over, it's finally over.
And now we're in another dark age.
What about the Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack? Wasn't that a pre-Adventure Time CN show like Chowder?
I remember that bomb hoax thing I found it hysterical that people thought they were bombs
Tickle U was Cartoon Network's Answer To Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. And Disney's Playhouse Disney
So, BOTH Powerpuff Girls & Regular Show made it to theaters?
Hard to believe, huh?
Did you know there was a cartoon based on a magazine that showcase multiple parodies of pop culture icons with different art styles and became a very popular parody franchise called MAD? It debut in 2010 with Avaturds/CSiCarly
What no mention of Class of 3000?
VideoGuyIdiot22 Not enough info and it's not important.
I remember when it existed but there’s not a lot known about it
Hoo boy, the CN Real Era. What a time.
This video was so good, that I’ve decided to marathon all the Cartoon Network shows that you have talked about.
Also, loved the Fox News joke.
Keep up the great work.
16:37 he forgot to add in The Othersiders and Bobb'e Says.
Green guy = Muscle man
Ghost = High Five Ghost
Yeti = Skips
Lollipop guy = Pops
Gumball Machine = Benson
I miss Regular Show. But I can't wait for JG Quintel's next show Close Enough.
I wish more people talked about The Secret Saturdays it sadly got lost in between the height of Ben 10 clones and the low of CN real.
Unnatural History & Tower Prep are 2 good shows that nobody talks about because they came in at the tail end of the CN Real train wrack.
Who doesn't love a comeback?
Aw you forgot Flapjack
Don't forget, Cartoon Network changed its logo on Memorial Day 2010!
CN Real was a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. Sure live action shouldn't exist in a channel for strictly cartoons, but it did give some interesting shows.
This is Probly the last video of this series ill watch sense I grew up on some of these shows but not all and some I still watch but not all
When Cartoon Network became CN, it was a Sad day...
Ben 10 also had a rollercoaster themed after it at Drayton Manor in the UK, from 2011 to 2016 (they changed the theme in 2016). It was a world's first in what type of rollercoaster it is and it's a fun little ride.
3:48
Crypto; “Hmm, I guess the monkeys got really salty about the games I starred in.”
Cartoon Network also stopped rerunning the Cartoon Cartoons in 2009 whereas earlier they were happy to rerun their classic shows.
You SO need to do an Animation Lookback at Nelvana, man! As a fellow Canadian, I'm sure you know that the show that company produced were A-MA-ZING!! 6teen, Stoked, Total Drama, you name it! Please do this for us Canucks, eh?
that Fox News joke flew over my head when I first saw this
The reason why Cartoon network was always my favorite channel is that they were always by far the most experimental out of the other kid's networks. Cartoon Network was always willing to try out new things and things that may not work which resulted in a lot of creative and unique broadcasting. A quality that is sadly no longer present in the company and that makes me sad. Cartoon Network basically lost there way but I only hope they find it again.
Susana Almeida What are you talking about? They still got many qualities like Gumball and We Bare Bears. Cartoon Network still got qualities even if they had rough times.
The problem is that you can barely appeciate those shows because they drown the schedule in Teen Titans Go and never air anything else. And don't get em started on the issues surrounding Steven Universe.
The 2000s I would watch the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy if I was bored or tired but when regular show came I kept watching it over and over again because I thought it was funny
I was six cn real was on and when they showed live action I'd changed the channel to boomerang
Please do another animation lookback. This time for PBS Kids!
AniMat: ''the Canadian cartoons were not as strong''
*Storm Hawks coughing behind Mat*
Storm Hawks: i mean sure i ended on a cliff hanger but at least talk a little good about me.
Love the og Ben 10, chowder, regular show and adventure time
7:33 How ba-a-a-ad can I be?
CN: "I want to make live action shows"
> Turner should have slapped him and said "bitch, do we LOOK like we're as dumb as Nickelodeon or Disney Channel?"
I Only Remember 6teen, George Of The Jungle, And Total Drama Island!!!
Dexter The Nostalgia Toonster All three of those shows are Canadian Shows
Dexter The Nostalgia Toonster Those shows weren't made by Cartoon Network Studios
Well SSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRYY For Not Knowing That, Its Been Awhile Since I Saw Those Cartoons And I Thought For Sure Those Shows Were Made By Cartoon Network!!!
Clarence has enough history, I’m not joking, it does!
O god i remember the mooninite panic
It was rough
If you Ask Me The Lich is one of the best things about Adventure Time and he's probably one of my Favourite Villains! (Besides Mumm-Ra The Ever Living,Mehrunes Dagon and The Shredder)
I loved omiverse growing up
ive been looking forward to this when cartoon network almost died and how it came back to its roots sort of
Why nobody mention shows like fantastic 4 or that big car robot with few friends against the galaxy and bakugan? For me it was kinda good and was on cartoon network when i was a kid and teenager
How about flapjack?
any one remember cartoon network fusion fall? that game was awesome.. glad their rebooting the game
I can’t wait for him to review the secret Saturdays
Regular Show is my favorite from the 2010s.
I don't even remember the aliens from Alien force
In case anyone's curious, Jim Samples has moved to Poland and is currently the CEO and President of the Management Board at TVN, one of the leading media groups/TV networks in Poland. Since I live in Poland myself, I can confirm that he's doing fine.
I still remember that live action man
I Love The Ben 10 Franchise
The Fall of 2007 truly marked the Downfall of Cartoon Network from the classic CN shows from 1998 to 2005 all ending or being canceled to the cancelization of popular blocks such as Fridays Maguzi and Toonami to the End of Cartoon Network's most popular era CN City (2004-2007) on May 31st 2007 to the removal of Kids WB shows.
I know it aired tickle u but I have news for you it have a second preschool block called cartoonito
Now your gonna have to mention the shows they started from 2011 to 2017
I hope he's gonna do an episode #5 for CartoonNetwork, there are so many shows on CartoonNetwork!!
Chowder was one of my biggest creative inspirations when I was in middle school. The biggest was the Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. (Which you skipped.) Also, I can’t begin to describe all that Adventure Time and Regular Show did for me. For one I’d get so many drawing ideas I wouldn’t know what to do. I’d smile so much when watching it and it just made me feel so warm and fuzzy. (I also used the Tart Toters speech as my monologue when I audition for my rival high school’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory musical. It was very successful because I got to be one of only 5 Oompa Loompa’s.) I also have to credit both of them for helping me make one of my current best friend’s. So thanks a ton Adventure Time and Regular Show.
Yes new part
I got pretty nostalgic when I was Gerald Mc boing boing and Harry's bucket full of dinosaurs! I don't know why but I remember watching them not on Tickle U but on another channel called Milkshake which was a kids block on channel 5 in the UK! (We couldn't afoird CN back then its a long story) I don't know I just got really happy seeing that because I haven't watch it in years and kinda forgot about it and stuff so it all came rushing back to me! XD
Very random and out of the blue but just wanted to put it there because I'm probably the only person that knows what those obscure cartoons are!
Adventure Time is my favorite CN show!
The two signature television projects of this time: Chowder and the Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, both join Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends in my top three favorite animated television series. There is so much that both Chowder and Flapjack have in common; both shows' dominant style is 2D drawing animation, yet both shows find some room for Stop Motion. This is something I really admire, but what I absolutely love about both shows is their star children: Chowder and Flapjack themselves. Chowder has an actual child's voice, which I absolutely love. I always want to see Chowder happy. And although I am troubled by Flapjack being voiced by his own creator Thurop Van Orman, he is still cute enough to make me root for him as well. In fact, I am absolutely shocked that Animat did not talk about Flapjack's show on this lookback. Especially with all of the interesting trivia he could have talked about.
But if I must make a comment about the other shows Animat DID talk about, Adventure Time with Finn and Jake is also on my list of favorite shows at #6. When both Chowder and Flapjack stopped playing on Cartoon Network, Adventure Time was a good comfort show to cope with the loss. Even as a show itself, I loved Finn and a couple of his friends, and several episodes got me thinking a lot. The first Ben 10 project was okay, there were some episodes I loved, and I liked how creative the aliens could get, but Alien Force and Ultimate Alien were so boring. However, not only am I also tolerant of the 2017 reboot, but I am also conflicted about which version I like more: the 2006 original or the 2017 reboot. But I am sorry to say that I HATE Regular Show. Not only do I blame this show for Flapjack's end, but it looks like the show itself hates children. Not only are all of the star characters adults, but any children who are shown on-screen are either spoiled brats or jerks; that is not how children are supposed to be portrayed in a television project such as this. I can't understand why no one is scolding Regular Show for how it is abusing children and making them look bad. Anyone who answers this comment, can you please tell me why Regular Show portrays children the way it does? I am genuinely curious.
The day you'll ever do a "AniMat Watches Re-Animated"" that'll be the day!
Who's with me on this?
Joey Margolian I’m sure Animat would probably enjoy as a TV movie that mixes live-action and animation, but as a CARTOON NETWORK movie, he probably wouldn’t be pleased.
