In Planet Zoo you are the Zoo Manager. Create underwater Viewing Galleries, develop intricate Chimpanzee climbing frames or house a majestic Bengal Tiger. You also need to make sure your animals stay healthy, have a comfy shelter and are not too annoyed by your guests. Speaking of which, you will need restaurants and other facilities to keep them happy too.
If you succeed, you will be granted access to the most impressive animals of this planet, such as the Giant Panda, a fluffly small red panda, the scary Komodo dragon or the bulky Hippo.
You can also build several habitats, Domes, safari rides or walk-in habitats that provide the best view onto your animals.

I wish the path system was more like the ride system, having the gismo controls would be so awesome! But this is getting there!
You and lady deisnghner deserve more subs
thanks!
That was very interesting to see and learn more to build smoother things for your park ;) Thanks a Lot Rudi!
this is why i continue to watch you while i stopped watching most other PZ youtubers, someone is finally bringing the real tips out from the gatekeepers. i have wondered for so long how you guys can get those perfect flowing paths, you use the train tracks to make the slope since you can’t edit terrain under paths, thx for this! you just improved my game by miles/kilometers.
Awesome! Anything else you need as tutorial?
WHY AM I SEEING THIS NOW omg I have to rebuild all the paths in my zoo, you made my life so soo much easier
Thank you for this tutorial!
It's so cool that it's easier to make more subtle slopes
It's a game changer!
I never knew about this... thank you!
Thank you a lot ! Yesterday, I built a path going down... and it was so hard with the terrain tool to prepare the ground level ! Tonight, Il will try it again, following your tutorial. Thank you again, very very helpfull !
thats super easy!
Awesome! I didn't even notive the new function :D Thanks for showing this!
You are welcome!
This is exactly what I needed!
so there you go!
Very helpful, thx Rudi
you are welcome!
Very interesting and useful. Thanks!
Very helpful tutorial Rudy. Thank you
you are welcome!
I subbed because you talking to yourself is rather entertaining 😂
oh thnk you for showing that. had a real struggle.
You are welcome!:)
Very nice to see how the new inclines work.
For using the track trick for path inclines, I like to set out the track where the path goes, select it all, turn the auto tunnel on then hit the smooth all button. It'll automatically flatten out your terrain underneath the track for you... you'll still have to flatten to surface in places, but I think it saves you some time in the end. Just don't try to do it on a really big section of track all at once, it'll take forever for it to calculate or even crash your game.
Yeah I had too many crashes and after a while you get quite fast with the repaint method :)
I wish this was uploaded earlier. Thanks for uploading.
you are welcome! hope it helps now!
The tracing a track with terrain is something i would have never thought to do
but its so goood
Loved the tutorial for creating shallow curving steps!
Since you asked if anyone has any other processes - I've been making super shallow curved or straight slopes, without using the new update or transit rides, for a while. You can free place path pieces to really easily create any incline or shape you like. It allows really smooth joins. No janky edges! :D I would be happy to explain if you'd like? :)
I exactly know how you mean - its like putting down nodes like in cities skylines, right?
@@RudiRennkamel Yes, exactly! By using shift and control you can measure the height to the previous piece to get a really subtle and precise height increases, and use control to stop snapping so you can place them close together to get really smooth joins :)
Ooooooooooooooh, thank you, I finally understand :D
haha, it is a bit tricky tho :P
Hey Rudi, sehr gut erklärt, danke dir!
omg, I was wondering how people did those nice looking upturned paths you sometimes get to see from videos, but I just decided that I will not try to replicate this. It looks like a lot of pain in the a**. But thanks for taking your time to explain this to us =)
Merci merci merci 😍😍😍😍😍
Rudi, game doesnt allow me to modify terrain under the rails. :( I cant even sink rail into the ground like you show at the beginning of the rail trick. Do you know which setting is blocking this for me?
Wonder if we will ever get that elevated length option in planco. I hope so. So helpful
that would be nuts!
@@RudiRennkamel I don't see it being a hard thing to add. But then I'm not a coder lol. We are long overdue an update for planco. Anyways good video. I have seen alot of people asking about paths and I shall push them your way
Jep that's right but I also have no idea how hard it is :/ thanks ! Glad it helped
1st! Thanks for the video.
Yw:)
Will you some time make series that you review zoos that make fans and after you tell them some tips and tricks that would make their zoos better ?
I'm usually not looking at it at the channel. But if you need advise in my Discord people love to help you !
@@RudiRennkamel ok thanks.
Yay
Could you make a tutorial on how to get the 2 and 3 meter width paths please?
Just check Mike sheets channel, he shows it off very well
Can you do a totoruial for making awuatics viewing areas
if there is more request for that, sure!
Hey I’m having trouble with the terrain forming in planet zoo, it won’t get any bigger than size 5. Any advice?
Hm usually it should go down to 2
It will go down to 2, but it won’t go any higher than 5
Tried using the track method to build a very gradual slope (~2.8°) but the terrain just gets pulled around the track rather than through it; is there something I'm missing?
Oh you need to disable terrain collision in the menu :)
@@RudiRennkamel That did it. I just picked up the game after watching you and the Koali crew and stuff like this helps a lot. Danke!
Why did the path système doesn't work in the same way that the ride one? 😩
ahhhh TAA ghosting!
But how to get sets of two or three //steps// and not just short slopes?
if you raise the mouse cursor once more, you get steps! =)
even just watching the beginning seconds of this tutorial video makes me anxious and annoyed -- how that damned path editor is SO EAGER to automatically snap to existing paths; how you'll get ten sudden and jarring graphical "suggestions" for where to put the path by even just moving the cursor a bit.
remember _Roller Coaster Tycoon?_ of course you do, everyone does. many to this day still actually play it with Open RCT, I think. when I was 13, I figured that path system out over a couple of easy, breezy weeks to where I was doing every advanced trick there was with grace and ease. of course that being a 2D grid system makes it _so_ much simpler, but I really think the SUGGESTION animations throw me and a lot of people off. it just keeps on popping out with new angles, baffling the more casual among us (like me) into frustration.
I've quit _Planet Zoo_ out of simple, sad rage more times than maybe any other game. and that's only because I love the idea, I love so MUCH of that game unequivocally. but Frontier REALLY hasn't mastered the 3D design process yet, at least not for us who don't have 1,999 hours in it already.
still, though. those games are shining beacons of light in a world gone dour in many areas, especially AAA game design.
now give us birds already, dammit. not even DLC, for hell's sake! think about it: _Planet Zoo 2: BIRDS!_ full price. done deal. we'd all get it. so what's the holdup? (I think the path creation in Frontier's _Jurassic Park Evolution 2_ is much better, though I don't know it it's as capable as the one in Zoo. (also, I don't WANT to run a damn dinosaur park, I want to run a charmingly stylized -while lifelike- zoo!)
