    In Planet Zoo you are the Zoo Manager. Create underwater Viewing Galleries, develop intricate Chimpanzee climbing frames or house a majestic Bengal Tiger. You also need to make sure your animals stay healthy, have a comfy shelter and are not too annoyed by your guests. Speaking of which, you will need restaurants and other facilities to keep them happy too.
    If you succeed, you will be granted access to the most impressive animals of this planet, such as the Giant Panda, a fluffly small red panda, the scary Komodo dragon or the bulky Hippo.
    You can also build several habitats, Domes, safari rides or walk-in habitats that provide the best view onto your animals.

    Holy cow, this is the Bible of Traversable Area. I am in the process of figuring out a Capuchin habitat in a tropical dome, and this was perfect. Also, I don't feel so bad about my climbing structures not looking nailed together, now. ;)

    Really appreciate the effort you put into this video! I didn't know some animals like the sprinkler more than others. And really good advice on the building of climbing frames, definitely going to use that.
    It also made me realize there is a quite complex system behind the animals' behavior and there is more depth to them than I knew. So kuddos to the developers of the game as well.
    I did miss a little more info on the pathing for staff members, as you did mention it briefly, it made me curious what spaces they can cross exactly.

    I just started to watch this video, so maybe it will be adressed later on, but the reason why your Elephant can't traverse those small mountains is not because of the angle. It is because of their hitbox. If you use the stamp tool with a wide of 10 metres you'll see that an African Elephant has actually no problems with traversing an area of 45°.

    • @ISolNacienteI
      @ISolNacienteI Před 4 lety +1

      To be more precise: From my testing it seems that all animals are able to WALK on an 45° angle, but struggle with everything above it. The only real difference is the ability to jump. So if you have a plateau with an incline of 70° no animal will be able to walk it, but if it is only 1m high, animals like snow leopards can jump on it. Now it would be interesting to see how high any animal can jump.

    • @RudiRennkamel
      @RudiRennkamel  Před 4 lety +1

      Hm thats crazy I tried it and my elephant was not able to do 45 degrees no matter how wide I make it. And from their Dev diary they also state animals have different angles which they can walk up to

    Thanks for letting me know that there are items that are traversable by keepers only. Is it basically anything that isn't traversable by animals, so long as it's at a reasonable width and angle? Could you build a bridge out of signs? Are there rocks that would work for keepers but not animals?
    Thanks so much for doing the heavy lifting 💪 Your efforts are massively appreciated

    What I don't understand: you said keep food and water together so the animal can faster go to ⚽ and so on. But if you have for example a large window area for your guests, isn't it better to have food on one side and water on the other side so the animals will move along the windows and the guests have 100 % chance to see that move? Because you said drinking always comes after eating

    • @RudiRennkamel
      @RudiRennkamel  Před 4 lety +3

      Yes, but drinking also comes in between. So you have a higher chance keeping them on the move, if you have it close together and put their favorite toy on the other window they will highly likely move there very often

    • @terranovarubacha5473
      @terranovarubacha5473 Před 4 lety +2

      Also, I expect that guests prefer to see an item being used instead of just having the animal run by the window
