    Bird was wearing a back brace in this game after being in traction overnight in a hospital.
    Poor Horace Grant. Probably still has nightmares on how an old, injured Bird was torching his a$$.

    It's hard to see where LB was in his career in this video. But he was suffering from major back problems and would retire in 1 year. Yet his competitive spirit against he best, MJ, still let him rise to the occasion. A great game I remember watching. I also knew MJ would dominate the league soon.

    I Heard This Somewhere Here On YT; That MJ Had A Rule To His Teammates, No One Was To Say Anything To Bird. Because He Didn't Want Anyone To Give Bird An Excuse To Kick It In Even More, ha ha ha. Even Though They Both Had That Kill-Playing In Them, They Really Respected Each Other. It's Hard & Amazing To Watch Bird Play When You Know How Much Pain He Was In. He Was Stiff Because He Had No Choice After The Back Surgery, They Had To Remove A Disc. Name 1-Person That Would Keep Going Because They Knew His Team/Franchise Needed Him, Name 1???

    • @itzkhiiii

      Kobe? Mj? Magic? A couple nba greats would keep going to be honest,but bird has the edge over all of them considering he was the only one with that circumstance

      @@itzkhiiii Maybe? Out Of Those 3, Maybe Magic. Because Bird & Magic Were Never Big On Dunking/Slamming The Ball. But MJ & Kobe Would Have To Change Who They Are With That Playing Style Not Working For Them Any Longer. And Think About It, That Playing Style Is What Made Them. That's The Reason I Have Bird Over Them. He Had Everything In His Bag & Didn't Need To Show Off With The Slam Dunking. Take Away Slam Dunking From MJ & KobeAnd What Do They Have Left In Their Bag? For One Thing Neither One Could Grab Team Leadership From Their Bag OR Great Passing. They Did Get Better With Their Mid Range Shots BUT Not Better Then Birds. They Sure Couldn't Do Posting-Up Without Their Dunking. So Posting Up Would Go To Bird. And Don't Make Me Point Out Rebounding Because We All Know They Wouldn't Out Do Bird On That Either. So What Do They Have Left In Their Bag Without Being Able To Jump & Slam Dunk?

    • @itzkhiiii
      @itzkhiiii  Před měsícem

      They are literally the two best post guards in nba history,two of the best midrange shooters in nba history and on top of that,both players did not rely on dunking there whole career to be successful,kobe tore his achellies which forced him to play back to the basket more,when jordan came back from baseball he played a more back to the basket game,there are legends who were able to do that not just bird you are the first person that gave someone the advantage because of their lack of athleticism which is insane

    • @gailshepard-cook6350
      @gailshepard-cook6350 Před měsícem

      @@itzkhiiii I Look at The Era Of Players They Played Against Too. Also NO They Wouldn't Have Been Able To Pull Off Playing Good If They "Could Not Jump". Jumping Was A REAL Big Part Of Their Game. Bird Had BOTH Feet "Achilles" Surgery On To And Had To Have A "Disc" Taken Out Of His Back. I Gave Them Credit For Their Midrange Shooting. The Only "Athleticism" That bird Didn't Have Was "JUMPING High". He Wasn't As Slow As He Is made Out To Be. Because He Sure Seemed To End Up around The Ball a Lot. When I Say Bird Would Be Better At "Posting Up" Is Because The Way Bird Backs Them Up With His "Back/Butt" & He Would Be Better Because Bird Has "Height" On Them. They Would Fall On His Back Giving Bird Foul Shots & We All Know How Good Bird Was At The Foul Line. Also I'm Defiantly Not The Only Person To Give Bird The Node On Not Being "Athletic" As You Think He Was. How Was He So Good If He Wasn't "Athletic"? Also This Chat Is About What Would MJ Or Kobe Be Able To Do Better Then Bird If They Could NOT Jump? I Notice You Didn't Say What A Great Team Leader They Were. Yes They Were Finally Able To Play More Team As Years Went By. But Bird Walked In & Was Able To That, All The Way Until He Left. How Great Were They On Their "Passing"? Don't You Have To Be "Athletic" To Pull Off The Kind Of Passes Bird Would Make? Your Right They Did Play Different SpotsSo How Come Bird Could Do Better At Passing? Also What about "Rebounding"? Yes Bird Had Height For That But How Was He good At It If He Wasn't "Athletic"? And Your Right I Do Like bird Better Because He May Not Have Been The Best In ALL Of These Spots BUT He Was Great At Doing Them All. Like I Said They Were All Great. But This Chat Was About How Would They Have Been If They Could NO LONGER JUMP HIGH.

    • @itzkhiiii
      @itzkhiiii  Před měsícem

      Well you do not have to jump high to be a great jump shooter,yes mj was not a great 3point shooter,but he was okay,kobe was slightly better than mj in that category,but both players could rebound extremely well for their position and could pass,bird said and i quote “people criticize michael for not being a team player in his early years,well thats because he didnt have a team” as far as kobe starting off his career he had one of the best centers of the game in shaq plus he was benched so he didnt even get a chance to even show if he could lead until shaq left,i will give bird the edge on leadership though,went from 29 to 62 wins in roomie season won championship in second season,impressive,his playmaking ability was better from the beginning,but i am also going to factor in that bird had 4 other HOFers on the championship teams he won with while MJ had two and i dont know how many kobe had but it was less than bird

    If you want to see an absolutely smokin' game and more specifically 4th quarter look up the Atlanta Hawks game where Larry and Dominique have their infamous 4th quarter shoot out, one of THE BEST 4th quarters you will ever see -- Dominique was literally a human highlight reel that game, he was so athletic and amazing, im a bird fan but man they both played like the champions they were and you will love watching Dominique, some where at the beginning or during the game one of the announcers called Dominique "the freakzoid" as he soared through the air like he was on wings.

    Grant was really good especially at offensive rebounds, 93 best offensive rebounder, he was also good with his midrange 4-5m shot, all star in 94 with Pippen and Armstrong. MJ sent him a lot of decisive passes,

    they did put pippen on bird sometimes but bird was too big for pippen. he posted up smaller players (bird is like 2-3 inches taller) and moved around screens on bigger players.. or vice versa.. post or face up or using screens, it didnt matter. tho i think you use pippen and double hard when he got close to the basket. but im no NBA coach

Then, listen to the stories told by people like Chris Webber and Jamal Mashburn who played against him. He was closer to 6’10”. I agree I think it's a proven fact that Larry was taller than 6"9. Even people who are coached by him when he's a old man say you don't expect Larry Bird to be that big. He really is a big man, shooting like a smaller man.
