I'm surprised you didn't talk about the software experience considering the ColourOS elements in the phone.
You won't feel much of the changes. Clean, fast and sleak with surprisingly good updates. Ram Management sucks a little tho.

The main camera of this phone is actually pretty good in night mode. The ultra wide is worthless in low light, but usable when you have a very good lighting.
For a medium range phone is more than fine
The Dimensity chip in this phone is equitable with the current Exynos on the S21U, so performance is def at flagship levels (see Speedtest G for confirmation). Priced lower than the Pixel 4a 5G by ÂŁ100 with better all-around specs and a free gift worth ÂŁ70, it certainly also represents value bearing in mind the fanfare the Pixels have been getting!
Def up there with the best of 2021 for the value it is tough to knock the Nord2!
Such a good review mate. Love from US. The camera section in this smartphone is really good and the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 is also so good.
As a first impressions video I would've really liked it but after using it for two months you had very little to say as if you realised you had this phone and just thought it would be neat to make a video on it to please the algorithm.

How did you use the drops iconpack with the OnePlus launcher? It doesn't work for me because I can't set individual icons from the drops iconpack to each app. When I try it, I can only choose between seven identical looking E-mail icons

Would you make a video on how you customised Nord 2 please
I need a smartphone (budget and android) for stable video shooting. Using an external stabilizer is not entirely satisfying. I would also like to add an internal optical stub. I've looked through a bunch of reports and comparisons and I'm still leaning towards Nord 2. However, so far I have not been able to get an answer to one simple question - will the Nord 2 optical stub work when using a third-party shooting software. I need to use the program from the external stub Snoppa Atom.

Nice review though I kind of disagree with the marks on the processor and camera.
The main shooter is a Sony IMX766 with OIS, the Nord 2 beside that's a flagship only sensor (it's in the Oppo Find X3 Pro), so I'm not so sure how good the ISP of the dimensity 1200 is versus the SD888 or Exynos 2100 but the sensor alone is top notch (the other shooters are garbage indeed). Also the dimensity 1200 is only 10-20% slower than a SD888 (Antutu & Geekbench) when it comes to CPU performance and about 25% when it comes to GPGPU (e.g. 3DMark) so it's way, way ahead of fast midrange SoCs from Snapdragon (like the SD778) and about the same as last year's highend chips. In fact it's even a bit faster than the SD865. And inbetween 865 and 888 (while being very close to the 865) is highend performance in my book.

@@ozzieblackcherry0707 I can tell you that ÂŁ210 is a good price for the phone. But if that's your best option I don't know and it's hard to tell as it depends on your market. Pricing with smart phones is volatile and different for each region.
Also back then I did inform myself about various options and knew about competitors but that was some time ago, now I got a phone and I don't know about the best offers right now.

The oneplus nord 2 has the one of the best cameras for lowlight. The main sensor is much better than the main sensor in the oneplus 9. Hava you tried the ultranight mode? You didn't even show us a single picture at night. Come on...

Mediatek is as good as a Snapdragon 870
I bought Oneplus One for 180ÂŁ, that was budget back then, I still have it, but Im using Oneplus 6, still mediocre camera, but Im photographer, so I have special toys for that. As a phone... it should just ring and call... and is't ok but not perfect, I would love to have a phone half size of this brick.

Can it use google or will directly link to China web when you search ?

Nord 2 seems like a solid phone. I just got OP9 (12/256GB) last month because it was old enough to have been discounted, while Nord 2 was new and slightly overpriced. The price difference ended up being ~$180. So yeah, your decision should depend on local prices at the moment of purchase.

@@thunderarch5951 Haha, actually if I'd waited a few more months, I could have gotten the Pro for the same price I paid for the regular. But you can't always know this stuff ahead of time. It's still a great phone overall (although I'm still waiting at Android 11 since the 12 update brought a bunch of bugs).
Hi Sam, did you know the 5G does not work! Tried to make it work on Vodafone - put in the new Sim but only shows up to a 4G option. Googled it - common Worldwide issue. Did not see this comment in any of the online reviews. Apparently Nord N20 works but not Nord 2! Suggest you do a 5 minute update on your review. Is a deal breaker if that's what you want! The review should have been more in-depth considering you are giving a two month later review, you left major points unclear, and camera review felt very non genuine, to be honest felt like the first impressions video. Production quality is awesome though.

Currently at ÂŁ279 on the oneplus website. Cant fault that price. Especially as Ive traded in my oneplus8pro for ÂŁ70 (with smashed front and back). Worth no more even on ebay.

MONOCHROME SENSOR is not used for Black & White photos but it is used like a second camera helping the main sensor caputre more details , less noise and more amount of light because all of the incoming light is captured by the B&W sensor whereas the color sensor has segments that detect only green/red/blue and repels the other two (which soften the photo clarity).
It is mainly used to create deeper contrasts while creating the bokeh effect.
Please inform yourself by a professional before you insult a company like OnePlus that their monochrome sensor is useless đ

Great vid Sam. Got a question, hope you could answer. Since the Nord 2 was released, the 8T price has really gone down. Which do you think is better to get, the 8T or the Nord 2?
Not Sam but here is my take! Oneplus 8T is part of the main phone cycle of Oneplus, the t series of the main phone.. whereas Nord is the budget varient.. over the years, Oneplus will always put in more resources (in form of support, software updates and OEM parts) for their main line-up as compared to their budget lineup... Remember, oneplus 8T was designed for the premium market and for premium customers whereas the Nord is a budget mid-range phone.
TLDR: Go for the 8T because once a phone is a flagship, it's always a flagship.... Nord would be better only when there are budget constrains

@@shabazahmed Yeah you can go for it. I bought the base variant from One plus site, also got one plus band, powerbank and buds for cheap in an offer! I'm disappointed with its front Camera , doesn't feel like 32 MP.

OnePlus Pro series sacrifice battery life for higher performance. The 888 in Pro eats up battery real fast

@@penunggangunta3126I prefer Google pixel because I mostly use smartphone as a source of portable privite internet for my laptop because I work in cloud development and they are really strict about not using public WiFi. Other than Ethernet I use bank apps to cash checks. Its important to realize that there is no real 5g network yet in terms of being consistent bandwidth on a flat rate but having a cheap 5g smartphone dose improve the limitations places on high data users.
