    Change the gears and get a clutch kit..... it will become snappy. I have a 2014 m9000 turbo sno pro & damn that is thing is a beast. Yes it's heavy but once u start riding it feels light. Easy to maintain & fun to ride. Skidoo owners diss on cats but haha look under the cowling of a skidoo or Polaris. I will never work on a skidoo and dislike working on Polaris, they not fun to tear into. Skidoo and Polaris have weak points on the a-arm mounts as well. Every rig has its flaws but I prefer owning a cat. Lack of maintenance on any rig will cause failure to moving parts

    Lovin' the sled vids. I'm hoping to get my 1971 Skiroule RT-500 running this Winter. It has been sitting since 1986 when I graduated High School. Garage kept and in excellent condition, I just know that's a looong time to be sitting. Your fix it sled vids are my motivation. Bula

    I have the exact sled only white 50th anniversary u are spot on with everything u said. I had to adjust the valves on mine at 6500 miles tho. My tab on my A arm also broke of haha. I bought the 1100 turbo also and boy what a difference. Now that’s an animal. Just make sure u get a 137. They ride amazing both mine are 137

    Looking forward to seeing your snow vid this winter. Just picked up a sweet 09 Z1 Turbo. I think there is a lot of similarities to the 1100. Going to look into that secondary clutch issue. Keep ‘em coming!

      Yeah I'm not sure how different they really are. Can't imagine there are all that different. I'm going turbo next time!

    Iv reached out to you before but I have the turbo. Iv put on about 2.5k miles. No blown belts thankfully. Just changed it out and it’s a lot more responsive now. Going to add on washer so my belt it a little tighter though. It seems skip and can squeak when I hit the breaks. End of en era. Thanks for the video. Interested to see what you get next!

    Also glad the sled videos are back! Question: did riding your buddies ZR8000 last year affect your decision to sell this sled and get something bigger?

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  Před rokem +2

      Nope, I've actually be on the lookout for a longer track turbo for a few years. I was just always to lazy and cheap to buy one. Now I don't have a choice lol

    this is Trail sled, deep snow riding is not its best side, imo go for a "cross-over" sled that works good both on trail and off-trail :) like the Lynx Xterrain or a cross-over from another brand :)

    Hated C&A pro skies on my pro crosses way to hard to steer way to aggressive. I raced arctic cats for many years personally i prefer stock skies or the SLP straight line skies. Like having power steering so light way better. Also have a Z1 turbo with straight line skies with duel runners the steering is perfect not heavy would swear sled has power steering. I have championships in SX and pro XC racing. C&A were great on my fire cats and SX racing i swore on C&A pro skies. I started racing the pro cross chassis had to have C&A pro skies. It was one of the biggest mistakes of my career. Just way to aggressive made sled feel tippy and tired me out with the heavy steering. To anyone running C&A pro skies on there pro cross i highly recommend trying a different ski or stock skies with either a dual runner or a stud boy shaper bar. Shaper bar will bite harder duel runner will be less aggressive but will eliminate any darting. On my 4 strokes i run the duel runner on my 2 strokes i run 9 inch shaper bars. I live the SLP skies powder pro’s or the straight line. If I don’t need a C&A believe me nobody does just saying this because i love my cats and want people with cats to get the best experience possible. My personal opinion is the C&A ski ruins the riding experience on pro cross chassis.

    so this type of machine is junk in deep snow? i am lookin at one but...

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  Před 7 měsíci

      I wouldn't say junk, but it's certainly not where they shine, or what they're designed for. Honestly though it did much better off trail than my 600 Polaris Dragon did on a 121" track.
