I’m going to attempt this today for the first time. Thanks for pointing me in a good direction. I think putting them on the chassis lifts will make it a little easier.
Make sure you add more oil until it shows up in the sight glass after you snug the air bleed screw back down! I skimmed over that part...
Nice job! I needed the video 5 months ago. Lol! I cut off the top of a oil can to help drain the oil. It seemed to work well. Keep up the good work!!
Haha I was waiting for this comment! I almost didn't film this since I was in a hurry but my wife told me a should and I thought of you telling me you were waiting for it last year so I did lol. Oil bottle top would be perfect, great idea!
I use a 20oz soda bottle instead of that paper funnel. I cut 1/2 of the bottom half of the bottle off and shove the hole from the cap where you had the funnel and the open side up (that I cut off) of the bottom toward the plug hole. No mess at all, stays in the bottle and runs out in the oil pan.
Try to do this without making a mess.. lol reminded me of my husband 🤭💚✌🏻💚 thanks for sharing.. stay safe and healthy.
Haha yeah that'd be tough! Thanks Annie, you and yours as well!
Nice job!
Thanks!
Appreciate the video, my wife just picked up a zr5000 so seeing the process will be helpful. Does the bleed screw work by simply letting gravity pull oil into the pump and air out the top? Or does it need to be turned over to purge the air?
Glad to hear that, thanks! Gravity will do the trick, the manual specifically says NOT to turn it over with the screw open.
What size socket is the bleed screw
Service manual says to dump in 3 quarts, open air bleed and dump in 4th quart.
That looks like that would be the only problem I would have with a 4-stroke looks like a pain in the ass for maintenance hope you have a great time in the u p
I definitely was putting it off but it really wasn't all that bad, took my slightly longer then power valves but I think next time will be faster. Does make a mess though!
Should you have not filled the new oil filter half way with oil like a car engine or any other engine
It goes on sideways!
Sticker on side of my m1100 non turbo says 4 quarts?
Really... Huh lol
Ever have a problem with the sled not starting at all?
Nope, it'll crank a few times if it sits for a long time but always fires up.
Ever thought about extending the track?
Not really, it does ok as is. I would consider it with a turbo though.
I’ll bet that half way thru that little procedure a lot of people realize they really dont mind the smell of 2 strokes.
Haha I like the smell! This does make a mess but doesn't take all that much longer than cleaning power valves.
That's a lot of work to change the oil and messy lol
Yeah it's not all that much fun lol
@@SwankyCatProductions i find it fun to do oil changes once or twice a winter better then always adding oil i got both a 4 stroke and a 2 stroke
Turbo has less room to work with
Yeah I'll bet that makes things tight.
