As someone who’s heard all of Madonna’s albums but isn’t a “stan” I think I can give an unbiased recommendation:
If you’re willing to give another one of her albums a chance I would suggest Ray of Light! It’s very adventurous and the songs do not blend together. It’s considered her best album. it’s bound to hold your attention if nothing else. :) it’s possibly unlike anything you’ve heard before and it may surprise you in a lot of ways!
All 4 of her 80s albums are also fantastic, but if you don’t like the 80s pop sound, it might just not work for you.

Isaac was inspired by verses from a 17th century Yemenite Hebrew spiritual poem “Im Nin’alu”; a song version was popularized in 1984 by the late singer Ofra Haza (died in 2000 age 42 from AIDS complications); Haza was known as the “Madonna of the East” and the “Israeli Madonna”. By the time of the Confessions album project (2004-05) Madonna was deep into the study of Kabbalah school of Jewish mysticism as part of her spiritual journey in search of wisdom and answers about the complexities of life. She met Yitzhak Sinwani, a Yemenite Jew who sang “Im Nin’alu” and other traditional Hebrew songs during Kabbalah sessions in London and Los Angeles. She invited him to record with her Isaac (the English equivalent of Yitzhak) and eventually joined her in the Confessions Tour in 2006 where they performed a spectacular version of Isaac.

After your reactions, I’m gonna recommend a second listen. And the songs merge in the end of one and the beginning of the next because it was intended to be EXPERIENCED not just listened to. This album is even more appreciated when you know about music from other cultures, and know about different cultures in general. Madonna always by the middle of her albums goes into a more philosophical route, and musically starts using cultural influences. I feel like in the US people are so narrow when it comes to cultures and other types of being and living. She has always lent a voice to the underrepresented and not just minorities but giving visibility to other countries and realities. She may not be the greatest singer but her creative genius and lyrical prowess are almost unmatched to date in relation to the impact she’s had. I sincerely hope you give it a second listen. You are growing content maker, and your knowledge must grow along with your viewers. You are very charismatic, and very nice. I hope you can get more.
PS: The Isaac chant was in hebrew and she was talking about the story of Isaac from the Torah/Talmud. XO

Not sure if the "She-may-not-be-the-greatest-singer" criteria really works anymore... Some of the best artists of their time were not "the greatest singers," for example, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohn, Louis Armstrong, etc. but they each had an impact on music and/or culture in general. 😊

Isaac really grew on me but I think it’s beautiful.
Get Together is my “Calgon “ it takes me away. You’re probably too young to get that 😂 It’s atmospheric and gives me chills it’s so good. I could listen to it on repeat lol.

By the way, the songs on this album do not have separated tracks, it’s supposed to be played non stop with no breaks. When you skip or start the next one you can still hear the end transition from the previous song. It was made this way. That is why they all have similar production in areas. Also some of these songs aren’t the album versions, I love New York doesn’t actually start that way or end that way. Interesting

When you stream this cd it's a complete diferente experience than the physical one. The physical one is just like one big track and that's why you feel that you already heard the song, they just build to the next track with no pause.

    2Like A Prayer
    3Music
    4Madame X
    5Confessions
    6Erotica
    7True Blue

    11Madonna
    12Hard Candy
    13Like A Virgin

Also by the way: maybe you know the hung up beat not because of this song, but because that instrumental is a sample ofABBA’s GGGAMAM

The reason why some of the intros sound similar probably has to do with the fact that, for the physical versions of this album, the songs are all mixed into each other. Like there's not a second of silence in between the tracks, but they all flow into one another.
And yeah, she did get a lot of hate during this time. Her previous album, American Life, was not received well. It was her most political work to date and was quite critical of the Bush administration that was during that time. Also, she started to talk with a British accent in between these two eras and people thought she was pretentious for that reason.

Trance is a genre of electronic music, and I'd classify this album's styles as primarily trance and house influenced electronic pop. There are some disco elements, as well, for sure, but Hung Up is the most disco to my ears, and it should be since it's build on an ABBA instrumental.
For authentic trance music, look up Childen by Robert Myles and Dreaming by BT (Brian Transeau). Trance is my favorite subgenre of electronic music, and some of the producers in the 90s were sophisticated musicians who approached electronic music like it was classical music.
When Madonna released Ray of Light, I was bothered by a lot of the reviews in which many critics wrote that she had done the impossible by making electronic music warm and emotional instead of cold. A lot of trance music affects me emotionally; it can really pick you up and carry you along on an emotional rollercoaster even without any vocals at all.

I'm so happy you gave Madonna a shot and had a great time! This one it's very weak on lyrics, but the production is next level for me.
Some recommendations below, but of course, only if you are interested! Please keep on having fun while making these videos, they're always a joy to watch -- (I support the idea of the club lights on the room!)
As some people commented, Ray of Light might be a good option if you choose to listen to another of her albums (it's my favorite -- but it's just as crazy on the production, so it's reflecting while bopping lol). On Ray of Light she had just had her first child, so there's lyrics about becoming a mother, finding religion and how her fame interferes on her personal time.
But my true recommendation is American Life, the album before Confessions. It's also lyrics-focused and there's some ballads mixed in as well. Lyrics about her disappointment on George W. Bush government, criticism about consumerism, trauma about losing her mother as a child and how this reflects on her relationship with her own children. It's a different look from what we usually think about "Madonna the popstar".

@oifogs As a #1 Madonna fan lol. American Life is my personal fav. The imagery and production of the album all amazing. However and I might be mistaken but the album is not political in its music…at all. The “Disappointed in G.W. Government “??? Yes the video is politically driven and the album artwork but take that away and the album is not political!
      Just food for thought!
