    Good to have a review from someone in the field as it were. I've used Felco for the best part of forty years having gone through numerous makes, many quality, but not Felco quality. My advice to any new Horticulturists out there is buy Felco from the start. Keep safe everyone.

    reat video. I do love my no.2’s and am looking at getting a second pair, but it is hard to know isn’t it sometimes whether you really are paying for the quality or the name. sometimes I wonder just how much difference there is with the cheap imitations, a little maybe but how much?
    I am also looking at a pair of Felco 22 loppers which in theory should last forever, but for £140 I just don’t think they can justify that.

    Have you tried the Japanese secateurs? I use a British importer called Nawaki. I have the red and white handle ones for about 4 years. Last year I got the red and yellow ones. I love them.

      I have been very tempted to get a Japanese pair. I know how good the blades are supposed to be. Do you find they stay sharp for a long time? The thing that stops me is the bottom catch to unlock them really annoys me.

      They stay sharp. The bottom catch is amazing. I use my thigh to open and close them. Great in winter

    Personally I prefer no7s, a increased cut and less wrist ache if doing repetitive cuts eg fruit trees.
    I find the 2a a bit snippy, but for dead headings would sooner use actual snips, the felco ones are good.

    • @MrGardener18
      @MrGardener18  Před 4 lety +1

      I've not used the 7s are they the twist handle one's.

    • @paulf2529
      @paulf2529 Před 4 lety +1

      @@MrGardener18 yes, personally I find them very comfortable. The only proviso is they suit a bigish hand span as the handles open wider than 2s.

    • @MrGardener18
      @MrGardener18  Před 4 lety +1

      @@paulf2529 I've used the smaller version of the twist handle felco i never really got on with them but would agree they did make cutting easier.

      What is the size of your hand?
      Mine is 20.32 cm (8 inches) and I am looking to by the 7 or the model 8.

      Felcos are made for the pros and that being said get plenty of ware and tear and cut just like you expect them to cut ...every time !
