I like the Oregon DT and I think he has some pass-rush upside as a 3T if Andre Patterson can improve his hand-usage/technique…but he got strength/high motor and fits in our twist/stunt front as a penetrator. Likely won’t see many double-teams next to Dex just get upfield attack the QB and play the run on the way to the QB. Jordan Phillips working with AP is a W too even though bro already a vet I bet he improves technique-wise
You think we need Beavers or the 6th round rookie to replace a 100 plus tackle guy and leading tackle for a loss guy in McFadden?
I'm sitting here watching this video and a couple of questions crossed my mind Bobby said he was expecting/hoping for an 8-9 win season: how improved are the Giants? How realistic is an 8-9 win season? Then I thought about the position groups:
O-line - improved (but that's coming from last in the league, so it can only go up);
TE - improved (Waller was a non-factor last year and Theo Johnson should be an improvement over what we got from Waller);
RB - worse (but maybe not that much of a step down from Saquon in the aggregate, also, because we signed two free-agent TE's and their specialty is run/pass blocking, which can only help this unit);
QB - same (possibly worse if DJ struggles or is hampered by his ACL, and DL doesn't pickup the slack when he plays);
WR - improved (Malik Nabers will make the entire position group better and, if the O-line improves its pass protection, the offense might be fun to watch);
D-line - worse (we lost Leonard Williams and A'Shawn Robinson and the free-agent signings may end up filling one but not both shoes of these players);
LB - same (a little thin on depth - I'm not sure if Muacau will fill the void or if Beavers comes back to his pre ACL tear form);
Edge - improved (Brian Burns helps a lot and, if Azeez can find a way to stay healthy, Edge may become a strength of the defense;
CB - worse (I'm not sure Dru Phillips will be an improvement over Adoree Jackson - BTW - Adoree hasn't signed with anyone yet. It would be nice if the Giants signed him back on a team friendly deal - he'd be quality depth);
S - same (but possibly worse - McKinney signing with the Packers is a loss but Nubin should fill in - hopefully well);
ST - improved (new special teams coach should be a help. We have some better players in the unit and Gano should be healthy).
In all, I have 4 units improved, 3 units worse and 3 units the same. They will have a weaker schedule, which should help, but I'm thinking more like 7-8 wins may be more realistic. If the O-line does improve, the offense should put up some points but the defense may have some problems. Dexter will be double teamed and we need the other D-lineman to step up. Also, it's hard to feel good about the secondary from this vantage point.
We really need players to improve over last year, free-agent signings to contribute and more of the draft picks to work out. I'm trying to be fair but am bracing myself for another difficult season. Overall, there will be improvement in some ways over last season, which should give us some hope. My instincts say this franchise is about to turn the corner and better days will be ahead in the coming seasons. I welcome any feedback - one way or the other.
Lastly, thank you Bobby & Justin for all you do. You may appreciate us but we appreciate you even more. Keep up the good work.
I think that the safety room is definitely worse, but the improvements on the edge should help cover up that weakness. I think that overall our offense will be better and our defense will be worse. As the NFL is really pushing offense, I hope that the improvement in offense will result in more wins (at the very least it’ll be fun football).
Better OL improves QB drastically along having better WR core

Looks like the scouts took a week at ucla and came home.
Definately seems like it was a deep talent draft that dropped off the table after 6th rnd. 7th rnd and udfa doesn't really have any high profile, crazy physical traits, have to take a flyer on this guy players. Maybe Dankwah 6'8" 353lb OT for run plays, which of course the Eagles grabbed. But really thin udfas considering deep draft.
