Giants offensive line doesn’t get enough hate for how terribly they’ve protected saquon and DJ
lol yes they do and rightfully so
If you lived in the Tri State area, you would know that they definitely do lol
The Giants management doesn’t get enough hate !
85 sacks allowed an nfl record. The cardinals in 1997 held the old record of 78
Daniel Jones is the one getting sacked 10 times on MNF vs Seattle.
The giants transformed a safety and a running back into an edge rusher, OL depth, and a serviceable running back. No one cares that Saquon is gone
"OL depth" talking like they have an offensive line to begin with... I guess we might see how much people don't care about Barkley's departure behind that Eagle's OL
“Don’t care” is a STRETCH they problem is they picked Daniel Jones over Saquon instead of Franchising Jones and fixing the OL which they could’ve done AND STILL paid Saquon
@@Umega101eagles just lost the heart of their offensive line they going down
Serviceable RB come on trash 🗑
@@121080hulk wait til you find out singletary has a higher ypc average than saq of crap
Im happy for barkley tho as a giants fan. But we made huge signings in free agency so i guess i cant be too upset. But thank u barkley for all u have done stay healthy bud
Perfectly said
Giants fans have been saying we need to build the offensive line up since Eli Manning was under center. People always brush aside the Giant's offensive line with platitudes like "struggles" or "I know they're not great". More like bottom of the league for years now. But yeah let's blame DJ and wonder why he and Tyrod keep getting hurt, or why teams like Dallas pad their sack totals on them.
we blame DJ because with the exact same offense tyrod taylor got players like hyatt and wan'dale involved when DJ couldn't
Now this is the correct, pragmatic take on the Giants moves.
Ya but they should of did this 1st year . Gm is not doing his job
@@121080hulkthe Gm of the Giants had no money to spend in his first year on the team 2 years ago, why because of gettleman who destroyed the cap in previous years, so this is the first time Joe Shoen has ever had real money to spend. Idk why nobody wants to talk about that, it’s like they wanna just conveniently forget how terrible of a Gm dave gettleman was before we got Joe Shoen 🙄🤷♂️
It’s called owner intervention because he loves the QB. Lord knows why.
@@user-nf8il8wo5xwell unlike let's say Lamar jackson he did play with no contract and put his body on the line. As fans we don't care he lost to philly in playoffs. To ownership he did what he was asked to do

Jeez Rich, after beating up the giants for weeks about not paying big bucks to resign SB, it finally dawns on you what Schoen has been signaling for months now. Thanks for keeping up.

@@CINO0816 Stop it. You didn't expect NY to let Saquon walk and then swing a huge trade for Burns. If you did, then you clearly are a better GM than 31 other teams.
Rich is rewriting history here, including his own. Last year he defended the Jones contract and said the Falcons would have paid that or more. Then was told repeatedly the offer was around 12M a year for three years but the contract fell apart due to guaranteed money. The Eagles pretty much offered him a similar deal but added a bunch of incentives.
Imagine being Daniel Jones watching these sports talk shows 😂😂😂

If I was an NFL GM, I'd trade with the Panthers as much as possible. Take advantage of a mess of an organization.
Rich gotta say you did an amazing job breaking this down as a 31 year fan of the giants couldn’t agree more. I see why you’re where you are in this business 🎉
Great moves for the giants
Yeah, thank god you've been a bottom feeder or 2 decades with the exception of 2 years.
The Eagles crumbled because of a poor D, deleterious locker room atmosphere, and dismal lack of coaching and leadership. D is not addressed (Fangio needs personnel), Sirianni is still HC, but Saquon is the answer?
They'll go defense in the draft.
The media don't realize that o-line is not gonna be the same without kelce until the season start
@@ianneufville3789centers particularly the great ones are never properly valued. I remember when Ravens center Matt Birk I think was his name retired, I called it just like u called this. He took so much off Flacco . I expect it to be similar
@@jojofreelancer1210 i remember Birk good player.
Giants had a chance to offer after the Eagles offer and declined to do so. As a Giants fan I'm thrilled with that decision.
Daboll and Schoen declined the fifth year option on Jones and then paid him a fortune for a mediocre to good season. That's on them. I love Barkley, I wish him the best except against the Giants.
I stopped wearing my 5 Barkley and 2 Jones jerseys prior to last season.
Barkley running OB 4x’s in Jacksonville spoke volumes.
Not hard to swallow at all. RB and Safety had so many "big name" guys either traded or released at those positions this year which shows how alot of NFL teams value those positions.
Picking up Devin Singletary was a very smart move given his price tag and what he brings to the table.
Had a stellar year as the lead back taking over from Dameon Pierce and ran really well. (4.6 YPC).
I think the Giants go WR at #6 (Nabors or Odunze), then QB at #47 (unless they trade up higher into the top end of the 2nd round) and go with Penix Jr, Nix or McCarthy.
Take a RB in the 3rd (Blake Corum would be a great fit) then fill out the rest of the roster as needed.
Correct. You don't build with RB and safeties. LOL.
@@boki1693 agreed - they can be a pop of flavour but they aren't the main ingredients. There are 2 RBs in the league that might be above their position imo: Henry and CMc and safeties.... are there any right now that outperform their position by that much? Gotta spend on the difference makers.
Saquan Barkley will get hurt again during the season !
Yep
💯
Barkley was offered 13 million per year 2 years ago from giants and with caps going up he only get half a million more. What does that say about rb value
Gentleman was a moron for drafting Saquon at #2 with no line or QB. (Horrible GM).
And Schoen never wanted Jones. Mara did. (Horrible owner)
And both of those moves have killed the Giants' chances for years to come.
Unfortunately, you're right.
Schoen never wanted Jones yet signed him to an extention?
Yeah, ok
Yeah but they never built around Saquan or D-jones that was the mistake
@@CINO0816 He signed him to a deal where they have an out after 2 years. Yes with some dead money but doesn't have to pay 80 million remaining on the deal.
Could have and should have gotten Nelson who is a future Hall of Famer. But ownership wanted to give Eli one last weapon, even though the organization has been trying to build an oline for over a decade now.
Barkley ranked closer to 13th the last two seasons and wanted top 3 money.
Why are people acting like Giants fans wanted to keep Barkley? 70-80% of the fanbase were okay letting him leave, we just mad he went to the Eagles. Had he went to the Texans, fans would be rooting for him.
And this is why your franchise has sucked since Parcells minus two freak abicture seasons.
Good content keep it up
You build a proper team in the front lines not the backfield. Simple.
Derrick Henry is going to kind of Turbocharge the Ravens too!
Saquan was a solid player for us and great character guy. However we have to many holes in the team that he a difference maker. He wanted more than what he was worth as the last he was dynamic was 2018
30 seconds on the giants subreddit would tell you that few of us are taking the loss of a safety or RB this way. Philly tanked and appears desperate.
Fact. Lost 6 of their last 7. Last 2 lost to giants playing a backup qb and scored 9 points against the bucs who the best mid team in the league
Yeah rich is acting like this is the end of the world, dude is way too optimistic with his running back takes.
As a Giants fan he's an awesome guy, but 2 years ago when they won in the playoffs, he slowed down A LOT the second half of the year. Also in between that season and last year he looks like he lost MORE then a step. I'm only pissed he went to the eagles not out of fear, now I can't wish him well as an eagle I hope nothing but the worst for him (Not wishing him any injuries, only that he plays horribly.)
@@theginjreaperU guys are such casuals. A dive into last year would show eagles had been off since week 1. Some very questionable calls vs NE, KC, Buff, WSH along with dropped passes eagles should've been 6-5 instead of 10-1. Hurts was hurt the entire year. He's a running QB right? MF never ran, looked hobbled all year. This wasn't desperate they had 45+ mill to spend and it's structured in a way they can get out by year 3.
@@punkem733lmfao Jesus u guys don't even know your own team. Why is if u think he may have lost a step end of 2022? Hmm? Any idea? 2020 he tore his ACL, 2021 he had 162 carries. Then 2022 he had 295 carries and 57 receptions for a total of 352 touches good for 3rd in the league behind Henry and Jacobs. Giants offensive line might be the worst in the league, that many touches with defenses loading the box after missing a year and another half season and you wonder why he slowed down lmfao?
😂😂😂 Joe is on fire 🔥 baby. He's COOKIN AND 🔥 THE NEW YORK GIANTS ARE REBUILDING, TO BE BALLIN AGAIN BABY ‼️👊🏼💥🏆🏈
This show is much better than the other shows most realistic and makes you understand the sport from the gms perspective rather than jus say hey I wanted Saquon why not pay him
Rich Eisen is the best
That's a lot of medium Pepsis
Still cannot believe that was the season ticket holder perk. They'll never live that down
now the giants need to grab nabers at #6
How are they gonna get him the ball?!?!
SB just wanted more guarantee, which is the unicorn for any RB.
Giants offered him a good contract, but you can’t refuse the eagles contract. Basically going to make cmc money.
Two games, and hurt guaranteed!!!!!!
I get that this season is do-or-die for Jones, but to blame him for last year's fiasco of an offense, with that sad excuse of an OL is to be delusional. Jones would have been safer as a crash test dummy.
Giants fans remember… we were 3-4 plays away from being a 9 win team. We’re not AS BAD as we think. We can’t get any worse on offense
Also Giant fans, remember this, Saquon turned down an extension back in the middle of last season. An extension that was worth MORE than the Eagles. So guess what Rich FAFO
That Bills game with a back up QB hurt.
I'm still miffed about that no call PI right in the end zone right in front of the official
Oh ,god. If the face of your franchise is a running back, its time to reinvent the franchise anyway. . We went 6-11 with Barkley, we can go 6-11 without him. So far, im cautiously optimistic about the moves we have made.
The Panthers are actually building their team perfectly rn. Burns isn't worth the 30 mill. Dan Morgan has put a big dent in the mess Scott left behind. Wonder what move he'll make next
The Eagles will be thinking' about this.
All the way to super bowl 59
Perfect Giants start to a rebuild. Good lord this has been a decade and a half coming. Maybe we’ll have something to root for in the next couple years. KEEP DRAFTING Offensive and defensive lineman! QB would help too!
You guys are the reason Barkley felt he deserved Top 5 money even though he made more without winning by being in the NY market. Also, the other Top 5 RBs have more accolades, production, are aggressive fall forward runners, and have had less injuries. Too many unchecked skill boxes for someone that gifted.
No one ever ever says a word about the influence of the insurance industry within the multi-national NFL corporation.
We now have a pash rush. Great move by the Giants!
Giants should trade down and get more picks. The roster ( especially the offense ) needs to be overhauled. We can only rely on Andrew Thomas.
Rich. The Giants got Singletary, who ran well against the Eagles last season for a third of Barkley's money. Their moves were strange but purposeful in many other areas. Running back by the committee might look like a stop-gap measure, but I see it working for them much like the Eagles when they won the SB.
Barkley leaving but signing Burns. YES! This is Big Blue. That's a nice signing. Need a secondary though.
The Giants almost set a world record for sacks last season. All three of their quartbacks got crushed last year and knocked out of the game. Barkley was almost the QB. How many handoffs to Barkley were almost handed off to the guy already in the backfield? I would have left too. But thats Jones' fault somehow? Maybe its who is picking the linemen. Andrew Thomas is good but he played injured too often. The guy who beat him had a part in DJs ACL. Schmitz is progressing after the bad snap that started the Giant snowball downhill last season. One out of 10 or more has worked out. Feliciano and Gates were let go for who? Peart? Shane Lemieux? Tyre Philips was let go but we were lucky to get him back. These are the players I was sad to see go and THEY'RE NOT EVEN THAT GOOD. That should tell you right there who's fault it is. I'll say for the last time, slot receivers cant block Schoen.
finally the giants have an FO that knows how to build a football team it all starts in the trenches.. if you don't have solid trenches a HB and a Saftey don't matter. Need to figure out how to get a QB next.
It’s amazing how the media tells us as fans how to feel about something rather than actually reading the room on how we feel and reporting it. Most Giants fans are thrilled for the new start and direction since all we did with Saquon Barkley as the “face of the franchise” was LOSE!
Never forget Rich roasting Brockman for saying the Daniel Jones deal was trash and that they’ll be in the qb market this offseason.
Rich refuses to be negative about anyone.
As a Texans fan I was sad to hear this news plus we lost Singletary but Mixon is a good pick up
This Giants fan is happy for Barkley. He gets his pay, goes home and gets to play behind a line that can actually open holes for him to run through.
DO NOT COMPARE BARKLEY TO MCCAFFREY!!!!!! PLEASE.....
You're right...Saquon's faster, stronger, better catching outta the backfield and 100% a better back the Christian. Give Saquon a line...
@@jonknestrick5219 LOL!!!
Will the media pivot on Barkley when they realize what he really is or will they blame his injuries for lack of elite production?
Just a friendly Amish reminder, the Lehigh Valley is home to Lehigh University, not Penn State. Just a mere 16-hour horse & buggy ride away from State College.
Rich risen is Stephan A without yelling. Outlandish takes and skewed interpretation of facts
Schoen's mistakes began by declining Jones' 5th year option without any other options at QB. When Saquon ultimately shot down every contract the Giants offered, they were forced to franchise him and negotiate with Jones for a league standard QB contract. They invested the rest of the salary cap for "weapons" for Jones to throw to while neglecting their bottom quarter offensive line, which showed how suspect they were in the playoff game with Philly. And the saddest part of all is that Saquon ended up settling for a contract with Seagles that was basically little better than what the Giants were offering him. The whole story is sad.
And paying a RB over 10 million a year has payed off when?
Christian McCaffrey is when.
Speaking as a Giants fan, I'm all right with what Schoen has done. I wasn't going to pay Barkley all that money with so many holes to fill. Hopefully Runyan Jr. and the other guard can help solidify the line. Burns is a stud. What they really need are weapons. Slayton, Bellinger, Shepard are all just guys. The Giants don't have a true threat anywhere. Give me either Odunze or Nabers to pair with Hyatt and Robinson, then hopefully Bellinger can be a legit threat at TE. The Giants really need to surround Jones with some talent, especially since they're going to miss out on Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye and Caleb Williams unless they trade up.
Paint those Saquan Barkley jerseys green 💚 now
I think the giants should trade to get fields with our 2nd and grab odunze or nabors with the first.
It sounds like Eisen was told the whole story behind the Giants / Barkley situation and with solid information he suddenly sounds informed and not so much like a complete idiot. Saquon to the Giants is like Rims on a 2002 beamer.
Any smart person understands DE/EDGE is a premium position. RB is not.
We got Drew Lock
Eisen wrong about the Giants being done with Daniel Jones, they signed Drew Lock xD
I hope the Jets get rid of Frugal Joe the GM of the Jets!. Little Frugal Joe should be the GM of the new Orlando expansion team. He is a small market GM trying to be the general manager of a large market team. His abilities and aptitudes don't match what it takes to win in NYC.
Jones should be fine now that he FINALLY may have an offensive line
"Impossible to reach" in references to insensitive bonus. 11tds, 1350 Rushing yards & 65 receptions. How is that impossible? If you are worth that much money those should be the standard,no?
30 times in 6 games Mr. Eisen.
This guaranteed NY Giants in the playoffs,
Via ticket's from Barkley to friends on his former team...
If you think a running back is the difference between the eagles collapsing or not last year, I can’t help you
What was the reason?
@@justinbrown4045 offensive line play fell off slightly, plus Jalen Hurts got exposed, plus defense was an absolute abomination
Jalen>Jones +God bahahahahahaha
@@ericmaxton6727 How did Jalen get exposed?
Give us Nabers, and spend the rest of the draft on guards and dbs.
I want to believe!
Dexter Lawrence is the face of the franchise.
If i were the gm ; im sticking w jones and seeing what he can be w an improved o line and a stud rookie wr
And how many years have been saying fix the oline and edge
I mean, Burns is a great player to trade for (& the Panthers are absolutely ridiculous for not trading him at the deadline) But Burns can't run the ball, he can't play QB (& he can't protect the QB) So yeah, I understand trading for a guy like Burns if you're a contender. But you're not anywhere close to being a contender, so to what end will it ultimately matter?
Yes but gotta build somewhere
You named offensive positions.
It’s the most important position on the defensive side of the ball.
Honestly, I was more bothered by DRC going to Philly.
I really wish my lions made the move for Burns. He’s nasty
must be a slow news cycle. eisen is beating this dead horse still. barkley's gone, we're over it.
It's all about business and getting the most money 💰 you can while you have limited time in the NFL. If you remember NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG! So as a running back in the NFL your fortunate to be in the NFL with injuries to last 4 to 7 years and that's if you don't have a career ending injury. So for Barkley he's just thinking about getting as much as you can in a big contract with the limited time you have in the NFL. Good for him to get what he did because he deserves it. Barkley has proven he's special. All the fan garbage about Barkley being a trader doesn't matter. There's no loyalty in the NFL. It's all about the business and what a player can get the most 🤑 you can before your body can't take anymore.
Giving a benefit of a doubt got you teamed up with Brockman, Rich.
Even against the Vikings Barkley had one big run when no one touched him. As usual any game without that big run and he doesn’t sniff 100 yards.
Barkley had 114 total yards on 14 touches and 2 Touchdowns in that game. They barely used him
Watch out for Wan’Dale Robinson this coming season….
I don't think there's been a draft pick that has done more damage to an organization than Saquon has done to the giants... has nothing to do with Saquon and more to do with the value of drafting him with the second overall pick... that pick set the franchise back five years
I was hoping Saquon would be a Giant for life similar to Stray and Eli. But we’re not winning with him and he’s more of a luxury. Also SB has become less reliable with his injuries (4/5 of his big injuries happened on grass btw) and he’s always struggled as a pass protector. They need to build from the inside out. Give me a guy that can grind out 4-5 yards consistently instead of 1, -3, 1, 20. All I’m saying is investing a lot of money into a RB when you’re trying to build a team is counter productive. Go get the QB and get DJ off the books next year.
No, he wanted 25 guarantee and the Giants only were willing to give 23mil. The eagles gave him 26mil guarantee.
Giants front office was always better than Jets F.O
good for him...but Go Giants
Runyon is an average OL and really of backup quality imo
Controversial take but I don't really get bailing on Jones just yet. You just signed him to a fat contract, and then your gonna bail after 1 year where he only played about half the games because he got hit every play and pretty much every offensive lineman he had was crap and hurt all the time? I just don't really think he's had a fair chance to do anything.
It just makes no sense to me to draft a rookie qb to throw into the flames, they picked their QB, now they have to roll with him.
They may not draft a QB. They could go with one of the big WR at 6, and then best player available at 47. They could also trade back from 6 if the value is there.
EDDU RICH N TELL THE WHOLE STORY
As a Giants fan, I’m not really sad about Barkley. He’s a stud and was fun to watch but all the Giants did was lose with him. Not his fault because the team was always constructed backwards but 35-65-1. Excitement over playoff win just means the bar is really… reallllllly low for the franchise these days.
😂😂 Barkley WHO? 😂😂
Saquon
@@JasonWelch-hu7uc nope, still don't know who he is...
Les Snead values draft picks like Hugh Hefner values women
Odunze/nabors In Round 1 and then rattler in a later round!
You'll here it first here: they'll pick JJ McCarthy at 6 and let him sit behind Jones and Lock
Its weird how we’ll acknowledge that the offensive line was beyond awful, have a receiving corps full of only slot receivers, Jones get rocked 30 times in 5 games before he inevitably gets injured , yet its mostly his fault and we are done with him?
I'd personally would have taken Justin fields over drew lock but let's see what this year's offensive line can do.
Also I hope that they go WR with the 1st and maybe if a qb is available with 2nd, then let's grab one. Hopefully we can get either the eagles 1st rounders or all of their second rounders
Hey Rich, none of us true Giants fans are upset about losing her, it’s that she decided to go to the most garbage organization in the league.
How's this for the NFL, Rich Eisen.. . every player who receives a season-ending injury is no longer paid by the team but by the NFL itself. AND a bonus of 10 - 40 Million dollars US (depending on contract and the time of the year that the personal injury incurred/occurred (depending on POV) ... Just to be sure ... there are NOT insurance policies, never mentioned, here too ... maybe Saquon didn't know what sort of peril he was to the NY Giants.. therefore the NFL has to pick up the tab. ... in a nutshell
I love saquon, but picking him and the related events that have transpired since have set this franchise back 10 years. Gettleman wouldn’t pick up the phone when GMs were calling to trade up to 2 because he was dead set on taking Barkley at 2, he wouldn’t even listen to the offers🙄. Then Barkley turns down a deal the giants offered him mid season in 2022 that was basically identical to what Philly just gave him. This forced the giants to use the tag on him and gave Daniel Jones tons of negotiating leverage which lead to his absurd contract. And after doing all that he leaves and goes to a division rival as the cherry on top. You have to wonder where the giants are if they trade out of that pick in his draft and got a nice haul to rebuild the team with. We drafted him without a OL and a QB that was over the hill, that’s like buying a Lamborghini but you can’t use it because you can’t afford the gas, such a stupid draft pick for the giants at the time.
