The J-class ships became the pioneers of the the new generation of British destroyers. Their increased size enabled them to carry powerful artillery in new twin mounts.
HMS Jervis, was a J-class destroyer of the Royal Navy named after Admiral John Jervis 1735-1823. She was laid down by R. and W. Hawthorn, Leslie and Company, Limited, at Hebburn-on-Tyne on 26 August 1937. The ship was launched on 9 September 1938 and commissioned on 8 May 1939, four months before the opening of hostilities.
Designed as a flotilla leader to the J-class destroyers, who were intended to make up the 7th Flotilla, Jervis was the sister ship of, and identical to, Kelly, leader to the K class and similar to Napier of the N class. However, despite an impressive war record (she earned 13 battle honours) she remains virtually unknown, overshadowed by her more famous sister.
Hms Jervis enters the ranks of the royal navy destroyers at tier 7. Like most destroyers, Jervis is a warship who's lethality increases as the battle wears on. The fewer ships that can challenge its concealment and close-range lethality, the easier it will be for the player to close in on and ambush enemy ships. Destroyers the player can get close to will melt under Jervis’ gunnery, and larger ships will find it difficult to avoid her spreads of ten torpedoes, especially when they can be single-launched for precision accuracy.

hey Setenza, thanks for commenting and let me say we have all been there but I sense a lot of motivation on your part to also become great at world of warships so I take great satisfaction knowing I'm helping somewhat to get you on track!
It's like a tier 7 Clemson. I have Bert Dunkirk as well. But I took advantage of his expert marksman bonus to mitigate the sluggish turret traverse. Eventually I will take concealment expert, but for now it's more advantageous to capitalize on the gun boat role and use your poor detection range as bait to draw opposing cruisers to your battleships or cruisers. You can almost bank on the opposing team red misting and fixating on killing you. You can use that to force them to make mistakes they otherwise wouldn't.
Hi Lukos, Thanks very much for commenting btw. I've found that the Jervis absolutely excels in that semi defensive offensive role, while kiting away attracting the ire of most of the enemy team it can tank considerable amounts of damage indeed drawing enemies into over extended positions.
Most damage tanked and surviving the battle so far is 1.4 million which for a tier 7 dd is simply outstanding in my book.

Just got this ship CC, and second game in got 50k (with a loss) in a T9 game
Wow I thought the curve was steep from T5 to 6, but boy this is even harder!
What I find hard is the opening moves. Do I seek out another DD to work with? Do I stick with the cruisers? I feel like the game is won or lost in the opening minutes, yet it's is difficult to find that balance. Still I shouldn't be too hard on myself as I've only played about 300 games.

Tier 9 games in the Jervis require more patience you kind of have to be really careful with your opponents, you don't want to be gunboating Kitakazes for example -)

Lol you’re a bit of a hot head aren’t you? No worries I’m the same when sh*t like being torped from behind happens. Also how the hell are even able to get more then 15k damage cause I can’t do jack in them, any advice is VERY much appreciated. Thanks

the first bit where you got hit by friendly torps.... you stopped and they were in the water before you started moving again. no one to blame but yourself.
That whole scene was trying to encapsulate all my mistakes coming together and owning them. I got out of position, was forced to move out of smoke expecting enemy torps, not anticipating friendly torps. The point I was trying to make that making one bad decision positionally wise can lead to many many others. I always own my mistakes, otherwise one can never improve his game.
@@CarbineCarlito But the worse part was that you made a mistake and things went wrong and your reaction was to argue in chat and through insults around, yet it was you that smoked while going to fast and drove into his torps.
@@andysmith2503 You misinterpret what actually happened. I smoked to avoid close range fire from the enemy destroyer. I moved forward to avoid potential torps from the enemy because i needed to create distance. When you are the dd behind like the cossack was in this case one has to anticipate your friendly movements and torping from the second line is always very dangerous. My weakness was to get involved in the discussion because the cossack put all the blame on me but i accept responsibility for my actions. It's the only way to improve. btw i would hardly call it throwing insults around I was asking questions!
@@CarbineCarlito If after launching your torps, any friendly ship has the potential of sailing in to them. Don't launch your torps. I am not the best player. But. I am not a bad minded person. If i were in the other dd. I would not have launched my torps in that situation.I would have fired my guns to give enemy 2 targets. It's a team game. I have hit friendlies with torps accidentally in the early days. I felt bad about it. Now i don't take the chance. If they don't feel bad. Fine. But don't argue about tactics or who did what.Waste of time. It comes down to what you're like as a person. Them types will never get it.
