That's easy enough.
First you make sure to mount a speed flag, then you actively plan out maneuver routes for the maps based on potential teammate moves (it tends to be much the same for every map). Then you get a proper captain, wouldn't want that DD captain. Finally you wake up and select another ship.
Can't wait for Smolorado.

Can you do a really team-oriented ship such as Fiji? I don’t really know when to push/pop smoke for team, so your thoughts in a commentary would be greatly appreciated. British bias confirmed
I don't think Fiji's smoke is really that much of a team smoke, it's emission time is too low.

Fiji needs to kind of sit back a bit. Not so far that you're useless and can't hit the enemy, but not to close that you can't escape once your smoke is out. Using islands to break line of site to escape works well. Fiji really needs the team to spot for it, so you're more of a support ship.
Sit back. Guns are good, but the armor not. You will die quick if you push forward. Better to support the BB's rather than the DD's
I played the new Orleans like a des Moines, it seemed like it didn't work as well because it has no radar

Best WoW video I've seen. Very well thought out reasoning on how to battle with it and explain what and why. Not just blazing away yelling "I smoked him". The incite in your explanations made the video fantastic.

Speaking as a noob whose doing his best, trying hard to get better, I really don't know what else to do except play and try my best. Gotta get steel if I can
i started with rank 13 took me 16 games to get to rank 12, kept getting teams where all the BBs lemming to A or C and being useless for half the game. i played mostly Atlanta, Boise, Haida. this season seems to have more bad MM, where i win 1 game and the next is a loss, then win, loss, win, loss. its damn frustrating
@Hooked It's funny. Some players get "lucky" year after year while most never do. I guess I have been lucky in every ranked season I have played since Season 6...
I have only played 6 games of ranked so far this season but I have a 100% winrate because I've only played the Jervis. Such a fantastic destroyer with only 3 weaknesses: Atlanta, Belfast, and Haida. Really brings the powercreep into perspective though * cough * Mahan, Blyska, and Maass * cough *
I'm going for Daring and grinding this ship in ranked is so enjoyable.
Z39 is dangerous with its 5 km hydro during cap contests.
Radars really don't bother a Jervis at all I have no trouble with my lightening in tier X games with all the radars going on there the manoeuvrability of British destroyers is where it's at bate em and scoot and shoot.
@@tannoys2008 Radars bother a Jervis more than other DDs in the sense that it has no speed boost and is the slowest DD and if you are caught the pants down, it will take you more time to be out of the radar range.
@@VuHien2011 Z-39 can be dangerous, but it has some glaring weaknesses the Jervis can take advantage of. The hydro is longer range, but lasts only half as long as Jervis's hydro. The smoke is straight-up worse. If you play around the smoke + hydro combo you can easily 1v1 a Z and win. Yeah, the Z might get the cap at the start but just wait 1:30 for the hydro to go down and they're an easy kill. Remember, the Z also has like no HE DPM compared to the Jervis.
Its handling is also awful so if you catch one in smoke without hydro it's not very hard to land a torp. Jervis is basically immune to torpedoes with its hydro, and it's still far more maneuverable without it.
The biggest advantage the Z has over the Jervis is its HP pool imho. You can play around hydro, but not HP. But that advantage can easily be balanced if your friendly SinOP shoots it just once, and it's not hard to hit a Z cause it's so big and clumsy.
@@VuHien2011 Yes, radar is always dangerous if you're caught off guard, but not otherwise. And it's not more dangerous for Jervis than some other DD's. What I've found works almost all the time is to reverse in the cap near an island. Bait out the radar, then zoom away around the island. You don't even have to leave radar range, just get to where they can't shoot you. In this regard, Jervis is one of the best DD's with it's crazy acceleration.
Also another thing: Jervis is not slow. It does 36 kts base, which is faster than both Mahan and Shiratsuyu; all it lacks is speed boost. Anyone who says that "UK DD's are slow" hasn't played them. The only one where speed is actually a weakness is Jutland which does 34 kts at T9; all the others are pretty competitive at their tiers.

hey flamu i apreciate the video and the help on how to improve my gameplay. appreciate all tips and help. i just recently found out that there is a key to reload the torpedo tubes on the given settings it is the F key. it automatically reloads the torpedoes. unfortunately it reloads the hole torpedo tubes so if you do not lunch all it will reload them even if left inside. it makes no sense but it is an option if you want.

First: I was kind of sitting back enjoying no carriers/no high-tier DakkaBoats, not realizing that a new and different destroyer play style is possible. (Actually, more like the old pre-radar/hydro/carrier play style.) Thinking outside the box, or perhaps disavowing the whole concept of "box", is one of the many services you provide.
Second, I got badly stalled on the Icarus and had not made it to the Jervis yet. So, you have shown the potential of continuing up the British destroyer line. (Icarus is probably not that bad, I am probably just not playing it right.) I don't generally use Free XP to unlock ships, and had struggled to get as far as ~55K of the 65K required. So I will get off my duff and continue the struggle up the British destroyer line.
I have been doing OK in the Blyskawica, which can do something of the same play style. Somewhat better guns, but torpedoes. . . Well, I'll be nice: yes, it does have torpedoes. Of a sort.
The Jervis is essentially a ninja with his getaway smokes, his single-launch torps and good knife-fighting

This is the captain build I was thinking for Haida, do you need Sup in ranked? I think the DPM increase from BFT would be better. Or drop RL, choices choices and every change costs!
Tbh this is kind of a poor example for a DD game in Ranked cause of the lack of radar on the enemy team...Normally you get at least one Belfast/Atlanta on each side. Wouldve been so much more interesting to see you play around that and show how a DD can still accomplish its task even if theres radars on the enemy team.
It’s a poor example of any game on ranked, the fact that at least one member of his team didn’t either Suicide or go AFK is a god damning miracle. Oh and also the fact that there are no German DDs literally one of the worst picks yet they are in every game for me.
I probably use over 10 ‘get back’ requests a game because of complete idiots who are surprised when they get focused to hell by a Belfast.
Yeah, it's good for early play basics but it's not against the Z, hiada plus Belfast, Fiji stuff. Makes it really tough to use torps and skirmish. Especially on that map.

One thing came to my mind. Italian DD line flavour should be 10sec smoke. Just to disengage, flee and hinde.

You mean like a creeping smoke? It takes me longer than 10 seconds to turn a 180.
Dont have the Jervis as of now but still love the Gadja in ranked. Nerarly the same but still different. Personally like having 8 km stealthy torps instead of the 7 km torps on the Jervis. Dont really mind the ability not hit DD:s with torps since the guns are so good anyway. A slighty better detection of 6.1 is also a nice bonus on the Gadja

I was in a ranked game with 3 jervis. They all died 3 min in by ramming a sinop. They dis 45k damage in total.

Tier 6 in Legends, I’m a new Subscriber and it’s been about a month ago since doing so! I’m a Super Tester for WOW Legends and I’ve done it for a year now! And the game for Console was a year on 16 April, I’m in the process to get a PC to start playing WOW On PC. I believe your a CC (Community Contributor) for PC Version and another ST (Super Tester) recommended me to you, he plays PC as well. Menacing Coyote I believe was the ST. We only go to Tier 7 with the Lighting being our Tier 7 DD for the British Tech Tree, we got the Alaska, Yamamoto and the GK being our new ships to Research in the Bureau so pretty much making them a Tier 8 related, we’ve had some Tier 9s balanced down to being Tier 7 such as the Iowa. I just waiting on my Stimulus to purchase a decent Gaming Rig. So maybe one day we’ll play together. Also I’m really liking your Content, and NoZoupForU was the only one I was watching till I was referred to you! Have a good one, also I’m a disabled Iraq Veteran and I’m home everyday and gaming has been proven to help Combat Veterans with PTSD and I’m a member of #StackUp an Federal Funded Organization for Veterans that’s an Ally with the United States. So if you know anyone that’s still Active Duty or Retired they help to get them a Console and they where trying to do PCs but they just cost way to much but have gotten them built from Orion and had drawings for them!

Uhh one thing I usually don't run on the Jervis is the upgraded range upgrade. The volleys are so floaty at 12km you don't hit anyway. So why not "buff" your bloom and have shorter range guns 11km I think.
Myself I have found the Shiratsuyu to be a very good choice especially with concealment expert and camo 5.8km concealment and 10km torps with reasonable guns good for spotting almost every other ship safely for your team if played right of course 😄😄
Concealment expert and camo are mandatory on any DD. Even in this ranked I've not seen any DDs without camo. Been a few naked CLs which is amusing though

Gadjah Mada does outspot a Jervis by roughly 300m - gun arrangement and DPM bring equal. This gives it the option to make minor position adjustments and get the first volley.
You should not underestimate that ship in a Jervis.
Just smoke up and torp into the Gadjah Mada smoke. A Jervis has hydro, the Gadhah Mada does not. I think a Z39 is more a counter as its hydro reaches 5 km and basically prevents any attempt to cap the cap the Z39 is contesting for the duration of the hydro. I got an enemy Z39 sitting behind an island and running his hydro. I tried to go around the island to shoot at him and during that time was exposed to his team mates and to him. His hydro pretty much covered the entire surface of the cap.
@@VuHien2011 Hydro just like radar has an uptime and a downtime. If you force a fight during the uptime, you will put yourself at a considerable disadvantage.
Just do something like useful in the meantime. If you were lucky, that might bring the Z-39 even to you.
@@virtusincognita1243 yes, you can wait for the hydro to stop but then you give the Z39 plenty of time to cap. Hydro lasts way longer than the time to cap.
@@VuHien2011 Yes, let the Z-39 cap. You can always recap later, especially when you have your health intact know her hydro has ran out.
It's a very common mistake to assume DDs have to fight nails and claws for a cap even when at a disadvantage - especially so when that disadvantage is only temporary (caused by a consumable). Pick your fights when you are stronger - the lost cap can be partially mitigated through more spotting, putting additional pressure on an other cap,... I think you get the jist
Hey, im new to the game. I completed the RNDD collection and the reward was a flag. But i cant seem to equip flags anywhere? People say you have to be access lvl 10 and it will show up where signals and camuflage are. I am lvl 13 now but still no way of equiping a flag?

how much does ship quality affect one's performance in ranked vs player skill? like if i'm a very good player, but don't have any top recommended ranked ships, will it turn the quest for rank 1 into an interminable slog? i have my own opinion on this, but i'd like to see what everyone else thinks. i've ranked out 3 times, failed once at rank 3 despite 60% winrate that season. always hundreds of games. but then i check how others are doing and see people rank out in a few dozen games and get super jelly. is it just luck? uber skill? uber skill + uber ship?
I'm using Haida and Akatsuki the most but Jervis is on my list to try if I hit a losing streak.
You forgot to mention the dual front turrets and 360 degree rear turret.
had good results with Leningrad.
Honestly the only gunboat I'm comfortable fighting a Jervis in is Akatsuki, which shares its concealment and can slam it with huge HE salvos from maximum range while Jervis will struggle to engage a kiting Akatsuki, or chase.
I do agree Jervis is probably the best tech tree DD at T7, but I like the fact that very few of them are particularly BAD. I guess the worst are like, Minsk, Sims, Akatsuki? Those Akatsuki guns are very underrated. Sadly my own Jervis captain doesn't have that sweet BFT, but rather Superintendent, because it's my Daring captain. F.
Without Flamu his team would have lost within the first 2 minutes! LOL!!!

I hit rank 5 so fast, there's infinate wait times for the 1-5 bracket and I cannot find games to rank out.

Im not a DD main nor a ranked player but just played about 8 games in the Haida and won 6 and lost 2. Out of 2 of them games we won we lost 0 ships. Cant imagine this ship in a much skillful player. With i think the lowest concealment and creeping smoke, hydro to push enemy DD out. Its very competitive.
Thing is, Flamu can make even the Mahan work, and you plebs wouldn't come close to it even if you play a Belfast.

I'll be honest, the lack of enemy radar changes the gameplay here; I'd love to see one with enemy Belfasts/Atlantas/Indys in a DD like the Jervis or the Haida.
That is why leningrad was not so bad choice. Cause he runs out of radars very well.

Screw the Jervis lol, after trying ship after ship and finding no consistency the one that is finally doing it is the Minsk. Took Sinop and the DDs die early or border chase, took cruisers but teams cant kill ships fast enough, only DD I have is Minsk and Jervis.
Asked myself what ship can I help the team, but also be selfish and save a star if needed? Minsk Gunboat build with RPF and Captain Kuznetesov.
Now I am a kiter kinda guy so I literally can dodge shots at around 10 to 12km and up. Everyone is taking paper thin cruisers with bad arcs so they struggle at 8 or 9km and pen easily. People forget she goes 48.6 knots with a flag and speed boost. RL lets me know if I can steal a cap or not. Smoke for emergency only or teammates, I want people to see me and shoot at me instead of teammates. Guns hit super hard and have great arcs and decent traverse, knifefighting is not recommended.
Its crazy but I had to do something cuz teams were such a letdown at times and win loss win loss was getting old. So far 8 wins 2 losses with 1 star saved of the 2. If its crazy but works than it aint dumb!
Ranked is absolutely terrible. It's amazing how many people have no idea what to do. DD's rushing in, cruisers hiding the entire time and bb's afraid to push up.
Man, German DDs look silly next to this.

BB stay in the middle of the map to support Crossfire and will be crossfired too vice versa.

Belfast. I hate that to be on the enemy. It has a lot of utilities that no other Cruisers at the same tier have.
I am explaining the gamemode we are playing at the start of every match now because i feel like alot of players dont understand that this is, in fact, not team-deathmatch

It's such an incredible carry ship. Currently have around 75% WR in it with 34 battles, most of those battles being between two unicum filled teams

This ranked season I cannot get wins, lost 7 in a row. Can't loose stars. I am always going after their dds in my Indy I do decent damage. But my team finds ways to loose
Well Jervis worked fine, but its hard to play against 2 Teams. Had a Sinop in my team who decided to drive to the far left upper corner of the map and kill the enemy skane... obvious we lost the game.

@@ntecleo Well win games depends on your team if you go spotting and nobody is shooting them its a easy lose....and it happens quite often thats why a lot of people think the point system needs to be changed.
You get 40% of the XP that other people do to the targets you spot. Pretty damn decent.
@@drachen6096 Yes nothing..... and even they shoot you can be sure they dont hit and if they hit you can be sure somehow the game doesnt count you as spotter because a guy is yoloing in.
I would rather have demolition expert rather than BFT, even in some cases torp reload.
base firechance is already good with 8% and faster reload also equals more fires, so meh, i will keep BFT

It all about the team !! that ship does not matter --if the team suck it over in no time - this map the other team throw the win by attacking when they have the caps -- noob game play

Is it just me or is the standard of gameplay in this ranked season extremely low? I mean, the amount of outright wrong play I have seen on my teams, it's just so frustrating. Whenever I play a DD, and I see my BB's I think: Okay, I have to play BB next game, then it'll work. And then in the next game I see what my DD's are doing (like, chasing a solo battleship way out on the flank, sitting stationary and broadside on in their smokes just to be torped out of the water, or yoloing straight into the bulk of the enemy team, ...), and I think: No, I have to play DD again.
Doesn't the Flint have a radar?

Some of the dd players ive been getting in my ranked games have been arse cancer
CV mains can't run their cancer so they play DD. I've had multiple games with CV players in DD's.
rank 5 since day one and no fucking players...

It's simple, don't play like a coward in a risks and rewards kind of game like wows. And find better position using the map. Good luck.

Am I the only one who's ranked experience so far has been really toxic? People seem to get very agitated when playing ranked.

Poor example of ranked showcase? Jervis great choice? NOPE,just decent. Reach rank 5 cause from there the true hardness of rank shows up and see how well your jervis will do when he will face atlantas,belfast,shiratsuyu,z-39,haida,sinop,nelson.
OH did I mention that you will end up fighting against professionals? You know those players from hurricane/typhoon clans?
I'm facing plenty of Belfasts, Atlantas, Haidas, Sinops, Z-39s and Shiras at Rank10 already.
Often when sailing my own Nelson, which doesn't really withstand the Sinop well...
Ranked sucks. Too many potatos ruin the matchs and its imposible with no irrevocables stages...
Really poor example! Nice review for jarvis but not realistic for ranked , you will get 90% games at least a belfast/atlanta, and even indianapolis sometimes with 10km radar. Would love to see a match agains't them.
