  • Hi sewing friends, my name is Karina and I'm a guest here today. You'll find me on my CZcams channel Lifting Pins and Needles. I'm here to share with you one of my favorite patterns from Love Notions. The Rhapsody blouse and dress is the Feature Friday pattern for today, the 9th of April 2021. That means that it's $5 (60% OFF). I've made 8 of them!!
    This gorgeous pattern is packed with lovely features and the most sleeve variations you could ever dream of! 9 styles! Also, make it a blouse or a dress. The Rhapsody blouse and dress includes the full size range XS -5X, a standard bust and full bust option.
    You will see how to sew the bias bound neckline of the Rhapsody, including the little V feature up close and step by step.
    You are welcome to use my affiliate link if you wish, and it does not cost you any extra. I'll make a commission that supports my work. Thank you:) www.lovenotion...

I am about to make my first and you have given great instruction. They are all your favorite! I have one question which I hope you will answer. I noticed on the back you gathered instead of a pleat which I really like, matches the front shirring. Did you add anything to the width to get the fullness on the gathers? They are so beautiful as you are!

      @LoveNotions  Před rokem +1

      Yes Karina is an absolute delight and her Rhapsodies are indeed lovely. I don't believe she added any extra. Most people who made that change have just gathered the area that was meant to be pleated. Hope that helps!

    Can this pattern be made successfully with cotton shirting fabrics? Thinking of starting with the sleeveless blouse first as we're getting into very hot weather here now.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles Před 3 lety +1

      Cotton shirting might be a little heavy for it but if you don’t mind the gathers having more volume it could be ok. Cotton shirting does not drape at all so you won’t have a floaty look.

    Karina, have you made a rhapsody with a Breckinridge Henley neck line? I bought a blouse years ago and that’s what it looks like. I want to reproduce that blouse. Thank you

      We haven't seen that hack. That hack will require combining knit and woven patterns which can be quite tricky but if you do try it, please be sure to share with us! ~K

    Would it work to close the neckline so it is a rounded scoop neck with no ties?

      I think you would absolutely enjoy this blog post: www.lovenotions.com/rhapsody-pattern-hacks You can do the binding continuously so you skip the ties and create a cute little triangle keyhole. ~K
