    Thank you for fabric suggestions, Whitney! I’ve lost my “mojo” for choosing fabric in my old age and having found Love Notions, I’m sewing again; therefore, I needed to see this video desperately! You never disappoint and I’ve learned a lot and rekindled my love of sewing from watching your videos these last few years.

    Whitney. My wallet. Stop. 😂. I'm loving this and Monday's videos! Such great content!
    I'm a huge fan of your percentage math. I just hate it when someone says something like "30% off plus my 10% coupon code is 40% off!" Sigh, that's not how percentages work 🤦‍♀️.
    Also, deep appreciation for your subtlety on the Cadence pattern; I was laughing while watching you! 😂😂

    totally agree with you ~~prefer dresses in summer months. Just so fun and easy to throw on a dress and go. The dresses you picked we=e pretty much me although I like a fuller skirt so I cam freely jump to the floor to play with my grandkids and Florida heat keeps me mostly in cottons. thank you for taking the time to pick out these patterns.

      Great suggestion!

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  Před 2 lety

      That is an excellent point! It really depends on whether the border is running along the selvage or if it's a panel print. As a general rule of thumb, I would treat it as a fabric with a nap or a large repeating pattern. I would buy .5-1 extra yards to make sue I had enough.

    Can anyone say if the vintage linen is opaque or see through. Would it require lining?

    • @sharonrimsza7960
      @sharonrimsza7960 Před 2 lety +1

      Depends on what you are making. I has a very nice drape. If you want a nice drape but not body-hugging use an underlining like organza. And if you are making clothing with multiple parts, vintage linen underlined with Organza(preferably silk organza) and then line it. Say for a jacket. But for loose fitting dresses, or pants, or shirts…you probably do not necessarily need a lining or underlining/interlining. With that said, do use a woven interfacing based upon your pattern instructions. And, use you serger/overlock or simply zig-zag your seam allowances. Some items a French seam is great!
