  • I hope you enjoy my 17th video.
My name is Kathy and I love to sew, especially garments, for myself, my friend and my family. I like to believe I’m on a minimalist journey and will share my closet with you. Five years ago, I started sewing garments after my daughter asked me to teach her to sew and I realized I had forgotten most things! Next came finding social media for sewing and then indy patterns.
My Measurements are: Height 5”10’, upper bust 38”, bust 41”, waist 36”, hips 43”

I got mixed up at the same exact spot with you with the placket. I'm applied it wrong and now I'm ripping it out as I watch this video. Fortunately, I don't get discouraged by these type of mistakes. They are just part of the sewing process and it means I'm still learning new techniques which will stave off dementia in me.

haha. I totally laughed at the dementia comment because I approach these things exactly the same way. I report all these blunders, but I actually think I am a pretty good seamstress.

If you ever get stuck again on a Love Notions pattern, head on over to Lifting Pins and Needles on You Tube. Karina has a video on most Love Notion patterns.

Lovely blouse Kathy. Great choice of fabric and the style really suits you. Would you mind saying which book you used for your back adjustment please. Love your channel so keep sewing.

That blouse came out so well and I'm still in love with that fabric. It looks so classy and will go with so much! It does look like a really great pattern, have fun wearing it and Happy 4th July! 😁

Hi Kathy! That blouse really is lovely...the fabric just makes it! Glad you worked out the button placket conundrum 😆 I've avoided making that blouse because I think I'll have to mess with the pattern to have it fit me how I like. I have a longer distance from shoulder to apex than most patterns draft for, so the curve on the band looks like it will sit higher than I prefer. It's a fairly simple adjustment, so I'm sure that one day I'll take the time. Don't like to have unused patterns! Your cut-out looks sweet...and so on trend ;) Looks great with your pants but I loved it tied over the reddish dress you were wearing in the last pics. So so pretty. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy!

Hi Faith, it's nice to hear from you today. Your adjustment sounds tricky, but I guess we all have a few or less adjustments we make over and over again. Then those adjustments become easier for us through repetition.Having to make alterations to the pattern reminds us not to accumulate too many patterns, like I have!
