- Over the past week my dog got sprayed by a skunk and of course brought that awful smell into our home. In this video I give you a few tips on how to remove that skunk smell from your home.

I have to say, Thank You SO MUCH... I live in the country and skunks often get under my house. Well tonight I came home and a skunk had sprayed under there... the smell was incredibly strong. I went right out (after watching your video) bought some whole bean coffee, ground it in the blender, placed some in pie plates throughout, and in less than an hour the smell is neutralized/gone!
My husband got sprayed on his morning run. I might need to throw the whole man away

My sweet dog Bella got sprayed while chasing a skunk in the yard allot! She went mad and killed it. She got skunked so many times, 😲 omg. Never let your dog out in the dark! Even if your yard is fenced in.
My non sweet brother got sprayed by skunk and went to MY ROOM and now it stinks really bad

Your video is the first one I found on getting the skunk smell out of the house - my dogs got one under the deck outside my bedroom early this AM. The coffee is amazing! Now I'm happy crying because it's not so bad in here anymore. Thank you!!! I think can tackle getting it out of the dogs now (who are still outside).
Thank you so much I am so glad I ran across your video!! You are a lifesaver! A skunk wondered into our fenced in yard and sprayed two of my furbabies on Friday. We have never experienced anything like this before so I quickly ran into the house in a panic carrying one of them so now it's all over me and the 2nd furbaby ran straight for her bed then our bed ugh it was all over. The smell oh my it was awful!!! We bought all kinds of stuff trying to get the smell out of our house including vinegar which none of it worked and our house smelt even worse. Found your video last night on Sunday so right away when the stores opened up today we got the coffee grounds put them out and my husband boiled some coffee grounds as well for 2 hours and finally after 3 days I can finally breath and don't feel sick to my stomach anymore the smell is almost gone! I thought I was gonna have to throw the whole house away 😂 thank you again!!
Glad I found this video! Thank you!! We did the coffee and it worked great and fairly quick, wanted to add that maybe every 8 hours or so, it seemed to stop working, so I threw out the coffee on those plates and refilled with new coffee, about a day and a half in and smell is gone.
Omg, lifesaver! Totally worked. I bought skunk out to get smell out of my dog from pet store. Shampooed carpet in that as well. The coffee worked amazing to get rid of the lingering smell. I also used baking soda on his dog bed(s)
Two nights ago my dog decided to in attack mode towards a skunk in my yard. Skunk-1. Eddy-0. Baking Soda , Peroxide, some vinegar , and dawn. Thats what I scrubbed everything , including Eddy, down with. The Arm and Hammer carpet powder did actually work wonders!!! As we speak , I have several bowls of coffe grinds in bowls in my living room. Eddy’s safe place is the corner by the couch. He jumped on the couch. I scrubbed the upholstery down with the concoction and placed a baggy with pinholes of coffee grinds under the couch cushions. So far so good. Thanks for your tips. They are the most effective.

Agreed!!! My dog just got sprayed on Tuesday (1/31/23) and I’ve been doing laundry, scrubbing and cleaning everything since then to get rid of this smell.

My all white Golden Retriever got sprayed this evening. She came in through her doggie door and was acting crazy. I thought maybe something had bitten her. Once I got her into brighter light I could see that her entire head was covered in yellow, oily, stench. Of course by then she had flug it all over the house. I immediately gave her a shower with lots of dog shampoo, which worked great, (I had just given her a bath the day before). She doesn't smell like skunk at all now. But I'm freaking out, I rent my house as an Airbnb and I have a guest coming day after tomorrow for 6 weeks!. I've mopped all the floors, put paper towels partially over my forced air return and wet them with Frebreeze. I have wiped down most surfaces, put out several plates of both bleach and vinegar (separately of course), went to bed at 1AM and did another search online for what to do. I found your video, got up, opened a dozen k-cups and emptied the coffee onto a dozen saucers. Also boiled some vinegar on the stove adding coffee grounds to that. Sprayed all soft surfaces with frebreeze, have 3 ceiling fans going with windows and open. Oh, I have a diffuser going with lavendar and 4 wicks scented plug in things turned up all the way. What a friggen nightmare. It's Friday morning and my guests arrive Saturday. The house smells SO BAD. Oh, and I removed all of the rugs and dog bed. Thank you for posting the coffee grounds idea, I'm sure fresh ground is better, I'll have to get some once the stores open. 😀

I live in a very small town and we have a huge skunk problem.
My dog got sprayed and I grabbed some things and the smell was gone in seconds. I put half apple cider vinegar and half peroxide in a spray bottle. Yes the dog was in the house and yes the smell was totally gone in seconds. Believe it or not because the smell was outside I even sprayed outside on a mist. All the skunk smell was totally gone from my entire property . This does not store well and it goes far only mix what you will use like an eighth of a spray bottle
Dog just vot sprayed in the face last night..tried EVERYTHING on him..didnt work..dog beds gone, blankets gone..washed him w EVERYTHING (de-skunkifier, paroxide mix)..rented a carpet shampooer and put in viniger and carpet fresh..just put coffee out..hopefully works

Skunk sprayed something under my house and it's gotten to the point to where everyone in my home, wife kids and my dad are all getting sick from it!! I'm going to try this! I've already boiled vinegar, did not work!

I'm going to try the coffee grounds.... my dog just got sprayed. I immediately gave her a bath and washed her bedding. I also mopped my floor with a cleaner that has lemon but my house still reeks.

We just had a skunk spray at a cat outside right in front of the ac and it distributed it evenly throughout the whole house
This is my husband and our house currently
Baking soda 1/4 c ,3% hydrogen peroxide 1qt. Dawn dish soap 1tbls mix gently and apply mixture to dry pet let sit on pet for five minutes and rinse with clean water. Repeat as many times as needed to rid smell.
Where do you get freshly ground coffee?
Starbucks used to grind it. Dont know if they still do. The old a&p and superfresh stores used to. But those stores are gone.

Does the coffee just mask the smell or actually absorb it? I’m trying it right now, dog just got skunked an hour ago. Behind my house so I can only open half my windows.

This did wonders. My dog got sprayed in the face and i didnt think before reacting. I washed her off outside but then brought her in and the stank stormed through my house like a dark plague. I seriously thought i was going to lose it. Never been in this situation and it was horrible. I used all sorts of stuff but once i used the arm & hammer it went down dramatically. I have watched so many videos on this and believe now i will know what to do if this happens again. Lets hope not. Thanks for video.

I know u posted this year's ago but my baby just got it in the face she no longer smells house wreaks I've tried it all. Ugh now I'm ripping everything up. Glad ppl posted though.
@@nicolemiller7022 I wouldn't rip everything up. Just air the house out and use tons of sprays that actually work and it should be okay. I didn't have to rip anything up. Aired the house out like 24 hours and used certain sprays and it finally went away
@@ryanbrowning5586 okay. I fig out it was a cushion. I used the baking soda carpet fresh on rugs and washed floors ice got every window open ones got a fan sucking the air out. Seems as soon as I removed the cushions and covers it went down so much. What a learning experience. Thank you for replying to me.

The easy way to get rid of skunk smell and bring winter back into your home and get rid of skunk ,smell burn a toilet paper roll yes toilet paper roll.
Take and burn toilet paper roll and no more skunk smell just that easy ,and you'll have the good old smell of a log cabin in winter time easy no money out of pocket just recycling.

Just did this (at 2 30 in the morning). Guessed an amount (slightly more than enough to cover a pan), and let boil for a few minutes. But it helped.

Here's hoping these work. Couple of the little bastards just fought each other under my house and now their stench has filled it. Windows open, fans running, and fingers crossed that some aromatics alongside baking soda will hide and clear the smell quickly.

Victoria Slobodian Make sure you leave all your cabinets, any jores open, make sure you wash your blankets and maybe your clothes that are hanging, leave ALL your doors open and windows open so that way the air can vent out. Put coffee beans throughout the house and use baking soda on the carpets. Give it about a week maybe two and your house should smelll normal. But again make sure you don’t leave any doors closed because that smell can get trapped and then it’ll just circulate inside the room. Your dogs collar make sure you throw that away, bath him or her in baking soda, dish soap and hydrogen peroxide. Tomato juice doesn’t do ANYTHING

@@mazokuwolf1279 It was mostly gone after 3 days after me and my family had to live in that smell. It will be a HORRIBLE smell in the first few days, maybe go for a few walks a day to not breathe the smell all the time and make sure to be aware before going outside if the skunk comes back for whatever reason. The time will go by and the smell will start to wear off. Also you may want to wash your clothes and anysorts of sheets because the spray affects that too which makes matters worse. Good luck with the smell and I hope it goes away soon (sorry I'm not the best at helping people)
