Anne-Marie the video was very helpful, :-) But my goodness the bloopers were hilarious. :D Thanks for the smiles and giggles.
Sweeeet! you need to make more videos! I love them!
I love how professional this is, learned so much
Hi Cailin Tunnicliffe!
You can use another wax if you like! Candelilla wax is a vegetable-based wax that feels great in lip scrub. =)
Candelilla wax: www.brambleberry.com/Candelilla-Wax-P4207.aspx
Keep in mind candelilla wax is softer than beeswax, so your scrub will be softer. You may want to make a small test batch to see if you like the consistency. If you want it a little more firm, you can add a hard oil like cocoa butter.
Cocoa butter: www.brambleberry.com/Cocoa-Butter-P3218.aspx
I was wondering. If i have only body scrub can that be used for my lips too? Or it doesnt work like that?
I love this video!!
. . . . or make-out session lol. i always love your bloopers :c) thanks for the recipes!
Thanks so much! I'll give it a go swapping the salt for sugar and let you know how I get on :)
Hi, I just have a question in regards the lip sugar scrub. what is the total amount of the lip sugar scrub when is ready to pour into the containers?
and what size are the containers?
Thank you for this video! What was the two preservatives mentioned?
Awesome videos! Thanks for sharing :)
Love it
I think I want to try the clay mask adding yogurt [added each use, not ahead], for a massage in, leave on, massage and rinse type exfoliating mask. Can't wait to try!
can lavender powder and lavender scent be used instead of the orange powder?
do you have to keep the face scrub mask as a powder or can you store it already wet?
Does Brambleberry carry the jars with the hinge lid? Can't locate them, thanks.
the face scrub seems so interesting i want some!
***** It feels really great on your skin! Hopefully you get a chance to try it out. =)
I loved this episode and I like the special guest aspect. Hope you can do more special guest episodes in the future. Can you suggest an alternative to the polysorbate-80? I'm very excited because I'm going to be ordering your beginners soap kit this weekend :)
Could you use a double boiler in place of a microwave to get the ingredients to melt?
Soap Queen...you are truly a queen love you
missbraindamage Thank you so much! Also, thanks for watching. =)
can I used cane sugar?
Hi....I was thinking if you and Erin could make a video on the basic wiped soap scrub cause I thought that it was a very neat idea.........and I really enjoyed the video
Thanks so much for your suggestion! You may also like this recipe for emulsified scrub, which contains liquid soap: czcams.com/video/cB7t9rNo0ck/video.html
i've noticed you use sweet almond oil or you suggest to use olive oil instead. Would grapeseed oil work with any of the scrubs, and soap recipes?
Love Erins hair.
u r awesome i love ur videos and I enjoy them
😍😍😘😘😀😀
I got to try this too
Have fun! These recipes feel great on the skin. =)
In stead of the orange peel powder and lemon peel powder can we just use zest
Hi, can I use poly sorbate 20, as I can't get PS80 where I am, and should it be same quantity? Thanks
Is the jar for the scrub plastic? I am looking for a plastic container like that one.
Hi Anne-Marie! I probably am going to keep my salt glow scrub near water, so which and how many grams of preservative should I use? Thanks!
hi anne-marie i saw on the web site of your friend whipped soap and i just don't know how to make this pls could she do it cuz we cant find it in my country pls help
Hi..i just wanted to know for how long would the sugar scrub last without a preservative.
Ya me too want to know
Not to long if you get water in it.
Anne-Marie I first wanted to give you a quick thank you on all the free info that you give out! I love hearing your cheerful voice and bright and positive attitude come through. I hope that you continue to have many blessings come your way. I am embarking on a new business venture and am in the R and D stages of development. Having worked before in the spa industry (what seems like forever ago) I was always on the end of tradeshows and marketing . This is wayyyy more fun! My question to you is I am wanting to add color to the scrub recipe, would mica or a labomb colorant work? Thank you in advance and God bless and hugs from Texas!
Hi Veronica, thanks so much for your kind message! I really appreciate it =) That's so exciting that you are starting a new business venture, congrats! Both micas and labomb colorants will work in a scrub. Keep in mind that LaBomb Colorants are dispersed in glycerin, which sometimes doesn't mix well with oils. I like to add the glycerin to my salts or sugar first, then add that to the oils. This usually works well. Micas are another possibility, you just don't want to use too much! A little goes a long way =)
Can we substitute the oils in the recipes or do we have to follow the recipes to the letter?
i cant find the orange peel powder were would i buy it and how much
instead of apricot kernel oil and meadowfoam oil, can we substitue any oil in the same measurements? liek sweet almond avacado, ect? same for the fragrance?
can i use french green clay instead of the zeolite clay?
Hello ,
Thanks so much for such amazing recipes. Have one query tat what sort of preservative( if any required) and how much quantity of the same wud u recommend for lip scrub?
Wanted to know the same thing but since no one answered....I think if you're not going to introduce water then you will not need a preservative. But if you do plan to introduce water to it then you would go by recommended percentage rate that's listed on the preservatives bottle.
That makes sense
Could I use any preservatives on face scrub?
Nice
Love your lip scrub recipe! How long is it's shelf life? If only a few days, what r some good preservatives I could use to stretch the shelf life?
I'm allergic to lavender, what would be a good substitute?
can i use vegetable glycerin as a preservative?
I'm fairly new to making products like scrubs and butters. What is a great natural preservative that you would recommend? Thanks.
Hi! sorry there is no natural preservatives that will prevent mold but vitamin e oil will extend the shelf life
I will Thank you!! :)
Erin's tattoos are gorgeous!
I thought this video was great, but it just got even better with the outtakes! "Or a makeout session!"
Can you use butters in melt & pour soap
Can i use a fragrance or essential oil in my lip scrub? I saw a different video and they used the "buttercream and snickerdoodle" fragrance oil (from brambleberry), but im questioning if it is safe enough...
Fantastic! I really love your recipe. I'll try it & could you tell me about a shelf-life of them?
I'm glad you enjoyed this video! The shelf life of each scrub will be the shortest shelf life of the oils used =)
I love your videos
this made a lot of sense.
+KelseyToast So glad to hear that! Thanks for watching. =)
What was the preservatives mentioned for the scrub??
Do you need the sorbate or can you use something else? X from Holland
pls tell me the name of preservatives we can add n how much
Any natural flavoring and sweetener options ?
i want this jar
I prefer sugar scrubs to salt as I have a terrible habit of picking at my fingernails which makes little cuts so salt can sting. Can I just swap the salt for sugar in the body scrub recipe? Thanks :)
Hey instead of green zeolite clay can I use multani soil
Is there an alternate for the avocado oil? I have family that is allergic and would like to make some products for them.
the recipe (first one), I know y'all were talking about preservatives. If y'all do you use optiphen, how much would you use for this recipe. Which is the first recipe the salt scrub.
Yeah, Makes Sense! x100
Can I use brown sugar for the lip scrub??
If there is tutorial on this topic ,I would like to learn.
I am just wondering how long the lip sugar scrubs last? Is there something that I can put in to make it last longer? My niece is asking to make something with me for Christmas- and I would like to get it done sooner than later. Thank you!
The lip scrub should last about a year! It already had vitamin E oil, which helps extend the shelf life of the oils. To ensure it stays fresher longer, store it in a cool, dry place. =)

What were the preservatives you mentioned for the body wash and how much would you use? I couldn't make out what you said. There were two options. Thanks, Love your videos!
The two preservatives she mentioned were Optiphen & Phenonip. A little late, but I hope that helps! :)
@@aakankshasonalkar2158 Thanks!!! :)

Question: Could I add powdered milk (Goat, coconut, etc. ) to the facial scrub mask ?
+Elaine Wright Absolutely! Milk powders are a great way to moisturize the skin. We added coconut milk powder to this exfoliating mask and it felt amazing: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/soaks-and-scrubs/silky-coconut-milk-face-mask/

Next time you guys do another clay video, can I be your guinea pig? I absolutely love clay masks!
You deserve all of that's beautiful and wonderful in this world believe me❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Instead of polysorbate 80, could you use liquid sunflower lecithin as the emulsifier? Would the amount used stay the same?
I love your bloopers, too. :)
can you ue different clay like benonite clay or arrow root powder
+how much shea butter judy You can! Those should work just fine in the clay scrub. To be sure, I would recommend making a small test batch. =)
Bentonite clay: www.brambleberry.com/Bentonite-Clay-P4059.aspx
Arrowroot powder: www.brambleberry.com/Arrowroot-Powder-P3706.aspx
I see some of Kat's soap on the shelf in the background.... Are we ever going to get a video from her about her super secret awesome swirls?!
Hello! I'm new to this channel and I found you about 30 minutes ago! If you could tell me if you have any tutorials on scrubs, soaps, or body butters that require only stuff you would normally have in a kitchen that would be GREAT! Thanks so much!
Hi there! I have a wide variety of projects here on this CZcams channel, but there are also a ton of recipes on my blog, SoapQueen.com! Many of the recipes use items that you may not have in the kitchen already, especially body butters because they require butters that you don't normally cook with (Shea Butter, Mango Butter, etc). That being said, there are some that you may be able to recreate =)
what would be a good replacement for bee's wax? (for people who are allergic)
Paige Williams Cosmetic grade soy wax :)
Can you make videos for people to do at home with home assentionals
I love the fact that even when on camera you act like an actual person. ^^ Wish I could see that much more on TV than just here on your channel and Create TV. Keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to beginning to learn how to make soaps. ^^
Thanks for your kind words Rinji =) I'm excited for you to start soaping, you will love it!
can i use white bees wax?
what other essential oils can i ise for this recipe
You can use white beeswax in the lip scrub recipe if you like! It has a more neutral odor and color: www.brambleberry.com/Beeswax-White-P4211.aspx
Also, you can use any essential oil as long as it's lip safe. Find our list of lip safe fragrances here: www.soapqueen.com/bramble-berry-news/sunday-night-spotlight-flavoring-oils/
Have you made a lip gloss tutorial?x
Being allergic to natural lavender, I'm wondering how green tea would work for the facial scrub. Any thoughts?
as long as there is no allergy, and the additive is safe to use on skin, I would say any additive you use would be suffice, especially green tea. I personally use it in my own home made face masks, but every person is different.
i was thinking, green tea already exfoliates the skin doesn't itt?..to an extent. ..i haven't researched, trialed&tested, to much
What's the difference with this regular scrub than an emulsifying scrub? Thanks!
+A Fajardo Hi there!
An emulsified scrub is similar to lotion because the water and oils are emulsified. It tends to feel a little less oily on your hands. Scrubs that aren't emulsified are pure oils, so they can feel a bit oily. Both are moisturizing and feel great on the skin. Which one you make is definitely personal preference. =)

Hi I would feel better if I added a preservative to my lip scrub, I can't find any info on this would you know what would be a lip safe preservative. Thank you
Hi Debbie!
We don't carry a lip-safe preservative. However, because lip scrubs don't contain water, they don't need a preservative. Yay! I'll include a blog with more information on the subject. =)
Talk It Out Tuesday: Preservatives: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/lotion/talk-it-out-tuesday-preservatives/
Can i add water to the second scrub and leave it in a gar or it wouldn't be good?
If you add water to the scrub, you'll need to add an emulsifier like Polysorbate 80 to help the essential oil and water mix and a preservative like Optiphen to protect against mold and bacteria growth. You can use the Polysorbate 80 at a 1:1 ratio with the essential oil and the preservative at 1% in your recipe. =)
