    I usually like to mix my activated charcoal with some oil before I put it in the soap batter, it helps prevent the poof and it prevents little speckles from forming, which you sometimes get with charcoal.

    To those who attempt to make this soap I hope that you have previous experience in cold press soap. I ordered all of the ingredients listed and followed this video twice and my two attempts were very unsuccessful due to missing information in the video. I wanted to try and make a third batch but I used all of the ingredients. I reached out to Bramble Berry in hopes that they would help out with maybe a partial return or discount to help order more and I was told that not only is Bramble Berry not liable for how our projects come out but this recipe is an advanced recipe and there are two other videos that goes with this one and they recommend outside research on the viewers end. There is no disclaimer that states any of that. I am very disappointed due to the fact that my time, effort, and money spent was wasted. I am a business owner and was wanting to have this soap in my shop but I am very tuned off by the customer service or lack of and will no longer make future purchases from them. My experience with them motivates me to have even better customer service in my shop than I already have so I do want to thank them for that.

    Charcoal isn't mud though and lots of people use clay/mud masks. charcoal is burnt plant materials, it happens before ash, if you continue to burn something it'll turn into ash from charcoal. activated charcoal is special in that the materials used are safe and it's been blasted with hot air top expand it.

    • @meowscutie
      @meowscutie Před 7 lety +16

      it doesn't attract water, it attracts impurities. this can be proven by putting it in water, it floats on the top and stays dry. it attracts things that are negatively charged, which are impurities.

    • @fridayschild722
      @fridayschild722 Před 6 lety +47

      This is definitely a serious issue, not only due to deforestation, but also due to pollution and destruction of fertile lands. Indonesia is I believe the largest exporter of palm oil and when Farmers want to start fresh crops, they raze the land as they cannot afford to use machines to clear the land. This causes a huge situation with haze and this effect is felt for over weeks in neighbouring countries. I live in Singapore and sometimes the situation is so bad due to high PSI readings that people have severe breathing problems that most offices issue masks to employees and sometimes government advices people to not step outside due to pollution.
      Unless demand for Palm oil is controlled this situation will not cease.

    • @Prosecute-fauci
      @Prosecute-fauci Před 6 lety +1

      Fridays Child or if the farmers simply said, "no" to the market. They are making the decision to destroy the land, not the market.

    • @fridayschild722
      @fridayschild722 Před 6 lety +8

      Yidris I did some basic research to understand why this was being done when I initially came to SG, the palm plantation is a fast yielding crop and gets better cash due to global demand. The government does very minimal subsidies or so I understand, so it's easier for them to raze their land as they are looking at the bottom line. But neighbouring countries like SG and MY are severely affected and there have been several talks at a governmental level to control this, but nothing as moved on so far. It's really hard to see little kids suffering from breathing difficulties, so I personally cannot condone use of palm. Two issues are at the bottom of it, the country's inaction and global demand for palm.
      You don't have to agree, as everyone has a point of view.

    Not a question about this in particular but do you use the same utensils for your products? If so, what do you clean them with to keep the scent from transferring from one product to another? What do you use to clean your utensils and bowls when using oil?😕. Thank you!!!

    This is a great recipe 🤩 everyone who has used these soaps loves them.. i was just wondering if i could convert it into a hot process so that the waiting time for customers is less.. if yes , do i need to make any changes?

    Although this kit is sold out is the items you list still available for purchase, also every single time I use charcoal products my face burns but since it does help me, what can I use to prevent my face from burning while still getting good benefits from it, I’m allergic to the benzoyl peroxide so I can’t use it even though it helps acne as well

    Amazed at how mean and sour people are!! Let the girls have fun, you can always switch the video, there are only 1 million others that can show you. I'd rather see silly but right and correct info that seriously wrong instructions by someone who looks in like a paradigm tells us a teacher should look like.
    I actually liked to so "good job girls!!!" I would like to see a recipe, and maybe you can point me in the right direction
    I'd love to try it, can't wait

    When using soapcalc, what cleansing score should I ideally aim for when making anti-acne charcoal soap. The range is usually 12 - 22.

    • @lucaslyra2275
      @lucaslyra2275 Před 4 lety +2

      I usually go for 12 and find that it does the job. It cleans, but doesn't strip the skin. Specially for a soap for the face, I would go for 12-15.

    lol "i'm in between soaps." totally understand. I got a question though madam queen, is the sodium lactate absolutely necessary for any of the cleansing/anti-bacterial/disinfectant qualities of the soap? and the rubbing alcohol you snuck in there at the end? cheers this soap bar sounds fantastic i can smell it and feel it all the way from here. thanks for sharing.

    So I love handmade soap. But here is my main complaint about it...back in the day, when I still used Dove, Caress, etc. The bar fit so comfortably in my hand because of the curved shape. This has nothing to do with charcoal, but is there a mold out there that would allow me to make a curved bar similar to Dove, Irish Spring, etc? Love the charcoal soap. Someday when I'm advanced enough, I'd love to try to make it. Also, you are so smart. WOW!
