Hi I like what you are doing I really want learn how to make soap pls can you teach me???
I usually like to mix my activated charcoal with some oil before I put it in the soap batter, it helps prevent the poof and it prevents little speckles from forming, which you sometimes get with charcoal.
Elisabeth Blackwood what do you use for your soap base.
Dang it I wish I had read this first
Great idea! Thanks for sharing!✨❤️✨
😂😂😂. Charcoal doesn’t do anything to your skin. It’s like rubbing rocks on your skin. There’s no scientific evidence.
@@Omar-zo6ux and yet people have had amazing results using "rocks" on their skin. Lols
You are my idol Soap Queen. You are amazing with all the products you have created! I hope to be as creative and knowledgeable as you are. I have PTSD and Depression. You would not believe the calmness I receive from mirroring your creations and making my own recipes. You are changing lives one bar at a time in ways you could ever imagine. Thank you for all the work you put into sharing your creativity with others. I look forward to seeing what you do next!
I agree ! Making soap makes me feel so happy. She has been such a good teacher all these years of soap making .
I just made this and it turned out beautifully. Great recipe. Good balance of activated charcoal as it is just enough to make the soap black and the bubbles are just barely tinged gray. Love it. Thank you. Will be doing this again.
Thank you for your honest feedback. I love reading ACTUAL reviews from people who have applied the method.
I tried this recipe and it turned out great. I'm so happy and amazed with my handmade charcoal facial soap.
Thanks so much to Soap Queens!!
OMG the foggy eye had me dying at the end! you guys are great!
I'm just getting started making soap and I have been watching hours and hours of videos and this is by far my favorite one so far. I dont know why but it put me in mind of a super hero and her sidekick.
To those who attempt to make this soap I hope that you have previous experience in cold press soap. I ordered all of the ingredients listed and followed this video twice and my two attempts were very unsuccessful due to missing information in the video. I wanted to try and make a third batch but I used all of the ingredients. I reached out to Bramble Berry in hopes that they would help out with maybe a partial return or discount to help order more and I was told that not only is Bramble Berry not liable for how our projects come out but this recipe is an advanced recipe and there are two other videos that goes with this one and they recommend outside research on the viewers end. There is no disclaimer that states any of that. I am very disappointed due to the fact that my time, effort, and money spent was wasted. I am a business owner and was wanting to have this soap in my shop but I am very tuned off by the customer service or lack of and will no longer make future purchases from them. My experience with them motivates me to have even better customer service in my shop than I already have so I do want to thank them for that.
We are sorry to hear your batches didn't quite turn out Leah. The link in the description above does direct you to the Charcoal Facial Soap Kit which we recommend using as an introduction to soap making and in addition to this video. If you send photos of your results and reach out the first time your batch doesn't turn out as expected our team is available to help with troubleshooting. We will keep your feedback in mind for our future videos.
@@bramble-berry Thank you for responding. I will be happy to send you an email with photos to help to improve the information presented for future viewers.
You're not entitled to a refund in this scenario.
@@marissa7691 I’ve already spoken to Corporate regarding this and got it taken care of but thank you for your input.
This is my absolute favorite! People buy this from me all of the time. I can't make enough!
What temperature do you pour the lye in
Lol that fogged up glass was funny. I love what you did to your microwave lol pretty cool. Can't wait to try making my favorite soap, thank you! 👍🏽
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed watching this, and I don't watch many tutorials til the end. This kept my attention as it was actually FUN to watch.
Thank you for this video I have been wanting to make this soap. I prefer your videos with just you sharing the process without the cutsie distraction
Thank you! I am so excited about making this soap. All of my ingredients just came in from your store! So, I will be soaping, hopefully tomorrow😁
Thank you so much for an inspiration! I will be making some soap Christmas gifts and this seems to be so perfect!

Lovely video! Your channel has so many amazing soap tutorials, keep it up xx
Glad to see your still posting!
I and my sister are totally making this! I love the recipe! My sister has followed you a long time and she makes soaps for a living Like you(and kinda because of you) she is her own boss! She is so inspired by you! She rambles on and on about you. You're worth the hype! You are totally her idol!! Thank you!
I bet Katie is your sister. I totally love Katie and am inspired by her. I will be shopping for all my soap making supplies soon. I hope to be a great as Katie is. ❤
Loved the video! I'm traveling up to Bellingham, WA to take your cold process soap class in March. Can't wait!!! Have you ever thought to do a video of your Otion store?
Charcoal isn't mud though and lots of people use clay/mud masks. charcoal is burnt plant materials, it happens before ash, if you continue to burn something it'll turn into ash from charcoal. activated charcoal is special in that the materials used are safe and it's been blasted with hot air top expand it.
it doesn't attract water, it attracts impurities. this can be proven by putting it in water, it floats on the top and stays dry. it attracts things that are negatively charged, which are impurities.
I wish I saw your comment a moment ago, I JUST commented on how inaccurate her information was and pointed out the difference between clay/mud and charcoal.
Rose Ray sorry but to what comment were you answering? can you explain me what you mean? i say "clay" and got scared because i like to use clay sometimes so...
actually activated charcoal is just 3/4 charcoal and 1/4 calcium chloride.. oh and charcoal is made when you heat something but you dont let enough air reach it to burn.
Luka Potocnik rose ray
Would the activated charcoal just absorb the soap and render the whole thing useless? I'm confused. Like would the charcoal absorb the oil and not have any affect on the skin??
Thank you for this recipe, I do use palm oil to cook all my African dishes. You cannot make Jolof Rice without it, so I will definitely be making this sosp
Thank you so much. I can't wait to see more videos from you. I really enjoyed watching
So addicted to your videos and soap making!
love the videos. They are so fun and cute! So totally want to try this recipe out!!
Awww I want to make soap with you. Please consider workshops in the near future please. Would love to attend!
I REALLY LOVE THE DESIGN !!!!!
Thanks for making these videos . You are awesome!
Great job beautiful ladies! I will try the recipe very soon.
I never use palm oil because it causes serious harm to environment and it's causing orangutans extinction. But I love the idea and I'm definitely trying this, but I must substitute the palm oil with something not so harmful.
maybe you ought to change your palm oil suppliers if they kill orangutans on the side. hard word to spell. orangutans. got some good palm down in west Africa for dirt cheap. and i've never seen an orangutan down by the beach. jams. have faith. peace.
This is definitely a serious issue, not only due to deforestation, but also due to pollution and destruction of fertile lands. Indonesia is I believe the largest exporter of palm oil and when Farmers want to start fresh crops, they raze the land as they cannot afford to use machines to clear the land. This causes a huge situation with haze and this effect is felt for over weeks in neighbouring countries. I live in Singapore and sometimes the situation is so bad due to high PSI readings that people have severe breathing problems that most offices issue masks to employees and sometimes government advices people to not step outside due to pollution.
Unless demand for Palm oil is controlled this situation will not cease.
Fridays Child or if the farmers simply said, "no" to the market. They are making the decision to destroy the land, not the market.
Yidris I did some basic research to understand why this was being done when I initially came to SG, the palm plantation is a fast yielding crop and gets better cash due to global demand. The government does very minimal subsidies or so I understand, so it's easier for them to raze their land as they are looking at the bottom line. But neighbouring countries like SG and MY are severely affected and there have been several talks at a governmental level to control this, but nothing as moved on so far. It's really hard to see little kids suffering from breathing difficulties, so I personally cannot condone use of palm. Two issues are at the bottom of it, the country's inaction and global demand for palm.
You don't have to agree, as everyone has a point of view.
We don't have orangutans in our land. So we're good. But, the haze needs attention and action done
Camera was always on your faces, not on what you were doing. So many giggles.
I love your videos and knowledge!
This is a nice recipe. I love using these bars.
Good Presentation. I didn't have to resist turning to the next one. Loved the video. Useful information. Thanks
Great informative and entertaining video, and thanks for sharing!
Love your hair color!
She’s hella sassy and I’m all for it 😍😂
Can you show a picture of your heat pad setup and what you do. Thank you.
I like to add my fragrances and powders to the melted oils (Before the Lye water). I find that works best for me. However, it is just preference.
I have that same problem with those king of safety glasses. They always fog up, but one eye... 😂 that was cute.
Yay! Another great video 😊
Beautiful soap and wonderful video as always.I've been wanting to make a facial soap for a while now, I live in New Zealand and some ingredients are hard to find at times also very expensive here. I was wondering I don't have Tamanu oil so is there another that I could substitute with also I have a question about what recipes I could add oats and clays to to make a good hand soap. I love watching your videos and have subscribed to your channel. Thank you so much for sharing .
I didn't see what you where doing, just you two
I agree! I almost turned video off because of that. There's plenty of videos online that show what is being done.

I love this channel is makes me sad when you take such long breaks. I hope that you can post much more often!
Brittany!!! Hello Nice to put faces with names - although myself I will most likely NOT do a video! I love your instructionals Ann Marie.
Loved ur tutorial. What can i used instead of tamanu oil.
Thank you for the great video. Can Everclear be used in place of rubbing alcohol to help prevent soda ash, please?
Nice soaps. Thanks.
Could this recipe be tweaked? I don't wish to use palm oil, welcome suggestions on replacement or increased measurements of other oils. Thank you. Such a fabulous tutorial, great job and really beneficial soap bar.
You can tweak this recipe by using rice bran & coconut oil in place of palm oil. Be sure to use equal amounts though. It should come out quite creamy.
Courtney is hot
Nubianwings you could use tallow
I dont know what i can say.. But.. Amazing.. I like your soap...
It's a great video. I want to try making my own charcoal soap but I'm a little scared of using lye. Do you have a melt and pour version of this?
Hi Anne Marie.I don't have tamanu oil.Is there another oil to substitute it? Thank you for your great work.
Ok, I love that you give all the ingredients for this recipe, but which order do you mix them in? Do you have to cook any of the ingredients? Where do you get the molds at?
I love your videos even if I can't make them :))
I love your new hair color, you should make a soap the same color!
spinning and knitting .
Hi, I'm really wanting to make this soap. Can I substitute the palm oil and the tamanu oil with something else? I'm new at soap making and I'm not really sure, thanks
Thats very beautyful 😍
Just curious, for safety reasons wouldn't you have your hair up? Especially if it's soap that is to be sold?
Kris Long She doesn't sell her soap. When I soap I tie my hair back. It's a matter of personal preference.
Kris Simcoe sanitation* and you're not eating the soaps. It really doesn't matter.
I agree; Kitchen or laboratory you really need to tie back your hair. It's not a preference, it's part of your safety procedures.
It's just a tutorial guys
@@PrincessLaLa011 it is best just to avoid hair falling in (or if its especially long, dipping into the lye solution by accident). no, youre not eating it, but who wants to find a hair in their soap? that said, im sure the staff at BB know what they're doing, and I'm sure they tie back long hair when they're not on camera.
beautiful soaps
She reminds me of my chemistry lab professor in college safety is always important
Her soaps are eye catchy because they look like some desserts or ice-cream to my eyes .😁
Thank you.
Thanks! I really want to make this charcoal bar. However, I don't have Palm Oil and Tamanu Oil. What can I use to substitute those two? Thanks.
Silly question as i am wanting to make soaps do you have to ise special oils or can u use the oils in super markets. Thank you
you the best soap maker
i wanna know if that soap can only be made by cold method or i can make it with the hot one? pleeaaasee tell me :c
Hi, thanks for showing this, what could I use instead on tea tree? My skin burns when I use tea tree :(
I love these videos
Hi,Could you please inform the exact dimensions of a 12 bar soap mould in terms of it's inside Length ,width & height .
Also,is there an alternative to Tamanu Oil ?
Hello ma'am! I am new here. Will you please give me some info about your blender? Which brand and other features, because the one I have is not suitable for turning oil into soap
Not a question about this in particular but do you use the same utensils for your products? If so, what do you clean them with to keep the scent from transferring from one product to another? What do you use to clean your utensils and bowls when using oil?😕. Thank you!!!
Very nice thanku
Love it.
i was wondering can you use almond oil or different oil in place of the tamanu oil
This is a great recipe 🤩 everyone who has used these soaps loves them.. i was just wondering if i could convert it into a hot process so that the waiting time for customers is less.. if yes , do i need to make any changes?
Hi tried your cleansing charcoal facial scrub but found it quite thick can I add more liquid soap base to make it less dense
Nice. So is it possible to use the soap withing a few hours after molding?
Although this kit is sold out is the items you list still available for purchase, also every single time I use charcoal products my face burns but since it does help me, what can I use to prevent my face from burning while still getting good benefits from it, I’m allergic to the benzoyl peroxide so I can’t use it even though it helps acne as well
Amazed at how mean and sour people are!! Let the girls have fun, you can always switch the video, there are only 1 million others that can show you. I'd rather see silly but right and correct info that seriously wrong instructions by someone who looks in like a paradigm tells us a teacher should look like.
I actually liked to so "good job girls!!!" I would like to see a recipe, and maybe you can point me in the right direction
I'd love to try it, can't wait
I just binge watched videos from 2010ish until now and is it just me or does Annemarie look like she's getting YOUNGER?!?!?
hi annie please explain what do you mean, when you said you are not suppose to make claim when you are making soap?
Why when making cold proceed soap you have to let it set so long once it's out of the mold?
I have a problem betonite clay, shay butter, charcoal and almond oil/peppermint. mine came out a bit oily should I add more clay? also what should I add if I want it to lather up better?
Can we use sandalwood or other powder as well to prepare other flavour with the same recipe dear?
Will the charcoal in the soap weaken the essential oil scent in the cured soap? Thanks!
When using soapcalc, what cleansing score should I ideally aim for when making anti-acne charcoal soap. The range is usually 12 - 22.
I usually go for 12 and find that it does the job. It cleans, but doesn't strip the skin. Specially for a soap for the face, I would go for 12-15.
This was fun to watch. Such great chemistry
I thought it was awkward
lol "i'm in between soaps." totally understand. I got a question though madam queen, is the sodium lactate absolutely necessary for any of the cleansing/anti-bacterial/disinfectant qualities of the soap? and the rubbing alcohol you snuck in there at the end? cheers this soap bar sounds fantastic i can smell it and feel it all the way from here. thanks for sharing.
I’ve got some activated charcoal hardwood. Is this ok to use? I don’t know what the hardwood means.
Can palm oil be substituted?
Hi there, can I use only coconut oil, olive oil, and charcoal for facial soap? But, I want to ask that, the charcoal I'm using is the wood that has been burnt, can I use it? Thank you.
Great. what type of spray did you use Pls?
I have a friend who is allergic to coconut and tree nuts. Do you have a recommendation for a balanced soap formula that she'll be able to use?
Is it only for the face? And do I have to scrub the dead skin cells before I use it for better effect?
Do you have a video making facial bar soap using red clay?
hi,
You added lye water, where can i see how to make this?
thanks
from where can I get soap colouring?
So I love handmade soap. But here is my main complaint about it...back in the day, when I still used Dove, Caress, etc. The bar fit so comfortably in my hand because of the curved shape. This has nothing to do with charcoal, but is there a mold out there that would allow me to make a curved bar similar to Dove, Irish Spring, etc? Love the charcoal soap. Someday when I'm advanced enough, I'd love to try to make it. Also, you are so smart. WOW!
It's very interesting I want now the ingredients you youth for charcoal soap?
i love your videos :-)
Also do you have any recipies that are sulfate and paraben free ....my skin cannot tolerate sulfates :(
