- One of Nintendo's greatest Programs was Nintendo Selects, which was a way to experience great games at a great price. But with the Switch going strong, can we expect this system to make a return? What games might be included?

The film industry has done similar for re-releases of titles on video. 20th Century Fox in the 1990s had "Selections", classic and contemporary films rereleased on VHS at a special price. Miramax had "Miramax Selects" and "Classics" and "Contemporary Classics" at MGM/Turner.

Ok I really like those box designs. The subtley darkened Switch logo with the selects banner is all you need. The red border around the case is fine too though as long as its only that thick. I do think they'll try to get away with 24.99 or maybe even 29.95, but that's cheap enough for me to justify Mario Golf Super Rush so I'm still cool with that.
I really hope Nintendo selects does happen on the switch, but I think it is a little too early for it on the switch
I say this year or 2022. Selects usually just grab cash from games people didn't really buy or something launched. I say ARMS and 1-2 Switch. Maybe splat 2. I see 25-30 bucks for switch, since cartridges cost a bit

There’s so many Switch games I would buy in a heartbeat if the price got cut in half. I hope Nintendo ends up doing this, but lately they seem like they’ve been a bit more obtuse when it comes to certain consumer-friendly tactics.
Same! There are a lot of Switch games I would try if they got significantly discounted At least they seem to offer discounts fairly often so I’m holding onto the hope that they’ll drop some prices.

If it does happen i don't think they would $19.99 each, i can see them selling $29.99 each game.

I think some of the more popular games such as Odyssey and BOTW could become switch selects when the sales for the games starts coming to a stop. It would be a good way for Nintendo to make that last bit of money from them
Very true. I was thinking of including BOTW but I didn’t think they would discount both of them at once. Definitely possible though. Mario Kart 8D would probably be a likely candidate
I really hope Nintendo Selects on Switch happens. Especially since I bought Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition today and tried to get Xenoblade Chronicles 2 but it's so expensive and hard to find now because of Pyra and Mythra in Smash.

Facing a similar issue here. Seriously, Xeno 3 is only 40€ now and it's ridiculous how Xeno 2 is mad expensive. The fact that you also need Torna doesn't make it any better.
I see wave 1 being odyssey botw arms and splatoon 2 typically those are the titles that launched with the system and the “new” fp titles are typically the ones that get picked first for selects. This is excluding Wii U ports Im not sure if they would do it with Wii U ports but it’s likely tho not in the same wave. Mk8dx has a shot being a select perhaps later on. As for second wave I could see Mario party, yoshi, nsmbu, captain toad.
Not when Odyssey is #6 on the Switch's Top 10 Sellers list. Sold over 23m, close to 24. It's still selling. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is #1, sold over46m copies, with the Booster Course Pass the game still sells at full price.
@@MGMVE rank doesn’t mean shit! The only reason games like Mario kart and smash wouldnt get the discount treatment is Bc of how much content Nintendo added post launch hence why they were making more sales. Odyssey is likely because that game has gotten nothing added but a free luigi update and that was a month to a year after odyssey released. Now the game is dead. Same reason splatoon 2 is dead the splatfest for that game ended and now that splatoon 3 is coming that’ll be getting more attention. These listed games are overpriced they need to cut down in price. Nintendo will just make even more. But they care only about their newer projects and the development
Possibly Team Sonic Racing, but I'm not sure. Even so, I've oftentimes tried to stick with finding the original prints of games, though I own one Player's Choice copy from each period since generation 6. Chronologically they are: Sonic Heroes, Mario Super Sluggers and Pikmin 3.
Any game that is on Nintendo's top 10 best selling won't get a Select Title. Odyssey won't happen. As far as others are concerned, who knows. Here is your biggest obstacle regarding Selects, the Switch Games are still selling. Even at full price they are still selling. Some games don't even break 10m Here is the oddest thing with Nintendo, the games that are announced for a select line, I would bet some wouldn't care for or be happy with.
Some want the big time first party ones like Kirby, Zelda, Pokémon and Mario get their selects moniker. When the Switch has sold over 111m units that tells me there is a still an untapped market that have not gotten the Switch.
Selects usually start happening when the game sales start to taper off when Nintendo starts taking notice.
I’ll admit, I kinda hoped selects would begin by now. Oh well…
