There was some dad that went trick or treating with his kids & another neighbor and that neighbor's kids, and tried to frame a random house for giving the kids, like, drugged pixie sticks, when he'd done it himself
I heard a similar story where the dad replaced sherbet with cyanide powder and took out life insurance on his kids bc he was in dept and his son actually died from it but no one else ate the sweets

I live in America and there is a law here in some states ( specifically the one I love in) that is called the buyer beware law were you specifically have to ask if a house is "haunted" or say has a leak where as in other states the thing like the ghost buster law is a thing were they have to tell the buyer if there is anything wrong with the house or if it's "haunted" it doesn't necessarily mean it's haunted it's more to disclose that there could be unwanted attention like a ghost tour or people taking pictures of the house and such anyway hope this helped for anyone who had questions
