The 68 is one of the cleanest looking cars.. Thanks for the build. Like that white interior.
Thanks!
You did real nice with the great kit. LOVE IT!

Loving the light blue with the black/white interior!! I learned to drive in my mom’s 1968 Chevelle SS396, black on black, automatic. This one I’m definitely going to build!!

Thanks! Hello from Wisconsin!
Great build, Chris. Really love the white and black interior.
Thanks man!
Love the color scheme! Yet another review that will end with me purchasing the kit. lol Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Clifton!
Tell Revell and Round2 you like the reviews here so we can keep building!
Oh my goodness! If you photographed this model with forced perspective, it would look real! I have always loved those wheels. I saw them on the tree, and was like, "why those" then I realized what they were...center cap and trim ring with the four cutouts in the rim itself, perfection through simplicity. Great, great, great job!
Thanks Stuart. Dull coating and black washing make the wheels standout more than on the parts tree as you see.
nice kit, looks like my next project. Revell has been my favorite kit maker, hopefully they'll come out with some rarer cars. I'd even like to see them mold more 1/16 scale kits. nice build Chris!
Enjoy, it will be a nice easy build!
Great color ! Nice build !! 👍😊
Thanks!
GREAT video! Nice work, as always. Love the color, I think you hit a home run with the "Spa Blue". AMT is coming out with a '69 Chevelle, due out sometime in March! I so look forward to all of your videos each week man. Thank you-thank you-thank you!
Thank you Jeff!
Finally got my copy today! Been wanting this since your review/build.
Awesome, glad to hear they are coming back in stock.
LOL, before I build mine up and satisfy your eyes! I love that statement, because its true! Your one of the reasons I am always broke Chris, I watch your videos and go the hobby shop the next day, lol! Thanks for sharing my friend!....Bill
Thank you Bill. If you want to see more just tell Round2 and Revell that you like hpiguy's Workshop kit reviews on their FB pages or messages so we can keep doing videos! Thanks again!
Awesome build as always Chris!
Thank you Dave!
I have Revell's '64 Impala SS still in the cellophane, and your review is inspiring me to crack it open maybe.
Cool!

Cool!
Your build turned out great. I really like the color combo. This is a super kit and a real treat to build. You saw a picture of my build last night on fb and I posted my video this morning. Looking forward to seeing the boss 302.
Thanks Joe!
Chris I don't think you truly realize just how great you are with this model building thing
you made it look 👀 like an original chevelle 👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘 badass dude
Thanks Richard!
the rockers under the side moulding need to be satin black as that was oart of the SS package :-). Very nice !
Nice job your chevelle looks cool i just went out bought that kit at a car show
Thank you, and thanks for watching the video and leaving a nice comment! Much appreciated!
Looks great! I'm thinking of using pearl-colored paint to paint in the SS badges. I love the idea of a non-red/black/yellow Chevelle! Keep on rockin', my fellow Wisconsite.
Sounds great!
Another Great Build !
Thanks Jesse!
nice build, at first I wasn't sure of that light blue would work but the end with the black/white interior and white stripe, yes looks good
Thanks Craig!
Looks nice Chris!gotta get me one now.
Get a couple! LOL Thanks!
Awesome Chris!!
Thank you Buckner!
awesome looking build sir
Thanks Eddie!
Nice work, I rather like color! I don't know how accurate it is to factory specs but it certainly doesn't look out of place, personally I would have used the red stripes. Rock on!
Right on!
Beautiful
WOW! Another great build. Just got that kit and can’t wait to get started.k.u.t.g.w. Buddy.
Thanks Jim!
I got my Chevelle as soon as I heard that it was available from the Model King. I bought the 69 Boss 302 from him too. Your build is gorgeous! I really like 'the color choice. I'm gonna go with butternut yellow with AMT 70 Impala turbine stylewheel covers and AMT Firestone wide ovals with the narrow whitestripe on the outer edge of the tire. I'll do the interior in black. I hope that Revell does a 65 GTO with the same caliber of detail as this groovy Chevelle soon. That car is an icon.
Sounds like a nice color combo!
I just put both this 68 Chevelle and that 69 Boss on my shelves on Friday.
I saw the new 69 Boss 302 in Acapulco blue on your website today. I was thinking of doing my Mustang with that color because the local Ford agency had one in that color on the showroom floor in the spring of 1969. The interior was black with the standard trim with extra cost high-back bucket seats and an am radio. Outside it had no window louvers or rear wing spoiler. All business, little gingerbread. I wonder if it still exists.
Great video my friend!
Thanks Todd!
Great video ! Nice Job
Thank you very much!
@@hpiguy Thanks you
Looks like a great kit.
It is!
I just discovered your page. I use to build models when I was little and in my teens. I love watching you build them! It makes me want to get back into it. I love how you paint them and do all the details! The only details I would do is put battery cables and plug wires on them using colored thread. Awesome job!! Keep them coming! Where do you get all your models and supplies from, it you don't mind me asking? Thanks!
Modelroundup.com is the best source on the internet for car kits and accessories, etc.
She really came out looking beautiful... I didn't like the color at the beginning, but when it was done, the color really looked great :)
Thanks Hisham!
Nice job.
Thanks for watching and taking part in the fun!
wow i am glad you are viewing doing this revell model kit ! check out linberg 67 olds 442!
Thanks Peter!
@@hpiguy no problem
Great video! Did you primer the body before spraying it that blue color if so, what color primer? Thanks so much!
You specified you use superglue to hold on the chrome parts, what’s the yellow-looking glue you used for general assembly?
Bondene, it's only yellow/orange because some paint got on the application brush on another build.
Any 68 Ss Chevelle had black trim below the lower chrome strips. Did you send yours to Earl Scheib for a quick squort? Kidding! Looks good.
Dudeeee beast mode
Haha, thanks!
beauty !
Thanks Eric!
VERY NICE Indeed, God Bless All
Thanks Gary!
Great build! How do you do the Chrome trim exactly? I need to do it on my '58 Plymouth Fury
Just take your silver marker and run it along all the trim. Works great for me.
Nice !!!!
Thank you!
I do one thing different.i spray my parts while on the frames .flat black then I paint my parts.and glue them together .and spray paint.mine also blue color. Nice car.
Whatever gets the model done is what works. Enjoy Kenny!
Did you have any trouble with the decals ( deckles ) sliding off the backing ? I soaked mine extra time and it was very difficult to slide them off the backing . Once on the model they were as difficult to get them to move and position on the model . My first attempt was a failure , maybe I had a defective decal set . Billy M.
Revell decals have taken me longer to get to release, sometimes over a minute or more after being soaked. But I just soak a bunch and by the time I get to them they are ready to go.
I use Tamiya Mark Fit on the car first so they slide free for a long time until I dab off the extra fluid to settle them down.
Wow ! Never heard of the Tamiya product you mentioned . I will have to check on this and possibly get some . Thanks for the tip !
oh! speaking of chevelle my great aunt had one it was blue with black vinyl top
Cool!
@@hpiguy yeah and she was nice & cool to.
beautiful nice
Thanks!
Great job Chris! This kit brings memories, I never owned one but I did get to drive my friend's. What a sweet ride! I may have to pick one of these kits up.
Thanks man!
facebook.com/hpiguysworkshop
It's gorgeous, but I wish you'd have done the lower body in black.
Sounds like a great idea for when you build your model. Enjoy!
What kind of glue do you use. I see it leaves a yellow color left from it
Plastruct Bondene. It has no color, it's orange because some paint got onto the bottle brush when gluing a kit that was painted orange. It's harmless.
Tell me please ...after you leave the parts on the sprue for painting how do you paint the edges of the parts when you remove them from the attached plastic...Thank you
Shoot some of the paint into a cup and brush it on the cut off area.
Sweet
Thanks Sam!
/ what glue did you use that turned yellow?
Great job like always! Where do u buy your kits from. I only have a Hobby Lobby and takes them forever to get new kits in. Thanks
Thanks man, I get some from Autoworldstore, Megahobby, from Ebay, Model Roundup and Hobbylinc, depending on what I want.
I've never had a problem with hobbylinc or modelroundup
I just got that kit I just can't figure out how to get the hood hinges on in the inside part
Nicely done kit, how do you put the future F P on , air brush?
With a big soft brush.
nice photo
tape or staple those axle pins to the box so you don't loose them, i have
I do not like the '68-'69 Chevelle. But that color made me like it! And I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a lot of light blue Chevelles after people watch your build! You're the second person I watch reviewing this kit, tho, the first one to build it. The other person said that if there's those parts above the taillights separated, it might mean that Revell has plans to make a '69 out of the tooling as well. But anyway, this color scheme, with how you colored the interior really make this kit shine!
ChasseGallerie, I saw that Round 2 is releasing a 69 Chevelle kit next month
Thanks for watching as always Chasse!
@@johnrubright2495 Yeah, it's their '68 turned '69 tooling that was made in '68. So it's old. Won't stand a chance if Revell go ahead and release a mod of this new '68 mold into a '69. I did told Round 2 that some of their molds were old and that they should think of making new tooling of their old kits to gradually replace those old kits. I mean, R2 own Lindberg and one of Lindberg kits, is a 1937-38 Auburn boattail roadster, which tooling date from '52! But I told them that they have shown lately that they can do extraordinary kits (like the ones they get out for Star-Trek modelists) and that they should think about it. They told me that since the products sell, they'll keep doing it that way and then proceeded to block me from their Facebook page. Round 2 has a huge problem, and that problem, is that they don't have a vision. They stick to the tricks they know and that's mostly it. But if Revell decide to make new tooling of some of their most popular kits that they just refurbish, they'll end up in troubles. I mean, they did lose the Fast and Furious licence to Revell, and pretty sure what sway them to Revell, was the fact that Revell has been willing to do a whole new tooling for the '70 Charger among other things.
@@hpiguy Wouldn't miss this. You're my fav CZcamsr for model kits.
What do you use to dull coat your chrome
Listed in the video, Treehouse Studios Matte.
Very sharp ! Chris the dull coat is a can or airbrush where u find ? Thanks
Like your work on things good job
Thanks Charles!
I use Treehouse Studios Matte Acrylic spray. You can google it in your area.
👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for your support and visiting the channel!
👍😍
Thanks!
Chevelle looks Awesome, KUTGW
Thank you John!
Another beautifully done car kit! The only thing I would have done different would be to use the black body stripes. On average, about how long does it actually take you to build one?
Thanks! I spent about 3-4 days per kit on average in a few hour spurts each day.
@@hpiguy Your output is outrageous!
Thanks man! They are far from perfect of course but I like doing the reviews so I move quick. :)
Do you always use rattle cans for your paint work? I see a lot of guys using airbrush systems
Not always, but they work well and are fast/easy to use.
hpiguys Workshop Thx for the tip. That’s all I use right now. I haven’t made that jump to a airbrush system yet
Beautiful job, however wish you'd have done black below the chrome trim on the body.
That would be correct and make the car look a little more sporty muscle car like.
Not all of them came with the black around the bottom. A majority of them did though. Just like not all had the decal stripe over the hood, though a huge number did.
Googling the cars shows some nice examples. Thanks!
Again another model that I just put on the shelf on Friday
Cool!
