Can't wait for it! Its every improvement I have asked for. They listened to everyone's suggestion on how to improve the unit and took it to heart and Volunteer Audio makes it so easy to do Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Can't wait to see them in person!
It is awesome!
Been waiting for this video since you announced it last year. Hope to get in on the pre-order. Thanks for the prompt update
Thank you so much!
Well, broke down and ordered the V2. Hope it is an easy swap out with the other radio. Took a long time to get all the wiring sorted out and stashed behind the fairing. Not looking forward to that part. HAHA! 🤪
Thank you!
I'm really excited, I just ordered the Hertz stage 4 package with the Soundstream V2 for my 18 RG!!
One of my factory speakers just blew couldn't be better timing.
Thank you!
Looks like this is the radio for me. The joy stick navigation within the radio is super important to me.
I agree!
This is awesome, been waiting for this for a while now. I am so stoked.
I have been too! Thank you for watching!
@@volunteeraudio it’s kind of bs that they discontinued the HDHU 14+
ive preordered mine just in time for a late birthday present to myself!
Thank you!
Everything you said told me why I might want the V2 but no explanation as to why I need it. There's a difference between need and want
Features, many people have asked for these new features, if you don’t need them we have other models
One thing I haven't seen mentioned in any literature or reviews is whether the V2 supports the CB radio in the bike.
No it does not support the cb module
I love my 14.SI and my Hertz 900x4 I bought from you. I upgraded from a Sony XAV-7000 which I liked. I miss the 2 USB ports from my Sony with the 14.SI the ability to connect to my Sena 50S is going to be huge and even though android auto with google maps or waze is awesome sometimes it is a pain in the ass or it just does not want to work with my phone for whatever reason so this radio having its own built in maps is huge as I often lead rides in my chapter and it sucks when you make a wrong turn or get lost leading a group.
Thank you! Upgrade your phone cable and android auto will work better
Glad I waited. I will buy this one.
Thank you
Love the features of the new V2 but don’t love the price. I get it, ya gotta pay to play with the Harleys. I’ll just have to suffer with my Hdhu14+. Haha. 😂👍
Thank you for watching!
I currently have the Harley Rockford Fosgate audio system which is the speakers and amp for my 2016 Tri Glide. Will the V2 be plug and play and use this amp I have already installed?
Yes
DANG IT! Just put the HDHU14si in my brand new bike. THIS is the one I want! Anyone want an HDHU14si ?...cheaper than new. Tested, never used. 😝
😂🤣😂🤣
My friend is upset he just got the older unit as well he said he would have waited if he had known😮
I have heard that if you have a Thunder-Max tuner the new radios will not be able to show the engine gauge function. Is this true? I understand it is a Thunder-Max problem not your radio!!!
How much does this super radio cost 🤔?

This radio has everything I want I currently have a 2015 Strretglide special with a stock radio with the Wildboar amps and speakers will this radio drive those amps and speakers. been watching your videos for a long time now keep up the good work you guys are great.
Yes this radio will work with your wild boar system, thank you for watching!
Looking forward to video of installed unit and a full run through of screens and settings.
Me too!
I just got my Si in a couple weeks ago. It's the last bit of hardware for the full upgrade.
I'll be reaching out to get those settings I need for the 900.4. Super excited to replace the humdrum factory GTS.

@@alsaint7944 Yes and no
I mean, at half the cost I feel okay about it.
But yeah...the new features might be cool.
🤷🏻
Looks like an amazing upgrade. How will this pair with the Kenwood Excelon system? I just installed the kit from yall, and very impressed with that system for the cost.
It will work great, the kenwood system sounds better with the soundstream radio
Just received and installed the Si today.... guess i should've waited a bit.
You bought a great radio, thank you so much!
I hope the "Communicaiton" will work properly...(or the firmware is updated to spell the word correctly)!
If course these are preproduction screen shots, all will be tested, working and spell checked
Really sweet!
Thanks!
Very cool, does the radio/music feed cut out if the rider and passenger decide they want to talk?
I’ll have more exact info once we have one here to test but I would assume so
This looks amazing, I’ve been waiting for the connectivity to wireless headsets.
Do you know if it will pair with the Harley branded headsets?
Yes it will
The new radio is pretty cool. I just got mine last year the SI With a new radio coming out already are they going to keep up with support and updates on the SI?
Yes the si and v2 are the current models that will continue, the hdhu14+ has been discontinued
I want one!!!! Maybe two!!!!
Thank you for watching!
awesome radio. I wish you had it at the upcoming Daytona Rally. If I get this radio and try it for a while and still want more power and different speakers, will it be an easy upgrade to add the amp and speakers at a later date?
Yes we offer easy to install plug n play amp / speaker upgrades to work with the new v2 radio
You should order it with the amp and speakers and Jay will set it for you before he ships it so it is plug and play when it arrives. You wont regret this advice.
Looks to be a nice radio has a lot of great features being that the screen is 8inch is it drop in fit or wil it require some trimming
Plug n play and straight drop in, no
Modification needed
I'm currently in the process of ordering the Hertz SP4.900 from you and I'm aware that you'll adjust it to work perfectly with my HDHU.14si. However, I'm wondering what will happen if I decide to upgrade to the v2. Will the amp need to be recalibrated, or can you preset it to work with both versions and provide instructions for the end user to adjust later after upgrading to v2?
We give you lifetime tech support when you purchase from Volunteer Audio, if you later purchase v2 you just reach back out and we will send you directions on what to change on your amp
@@volunteeraudio that is great, but do you foresee the need to ship the amp back to you to calibrate it from 14.si to the v2 ... Asking as the shipping to and from Canada will be an expense in considering buying the amp now or later when you are able to calibrate for it.
Any love on the gauges for Thunder max yet?
Thundermax is supposed to be working with maestro to get their ecm to send out the proper data
@@volunteeraudio they aren’t
@@coryroot5931 last I spoke with Steve at Idatalink Maestro, the lead engineer over Harley, he said they are
Hope its got the same wire harness where u can just pull the si out and plug the v2 in and be done.
Not sure about that but the harness will be included with the radio
If I don’t want to add an amp, can I just use the V2 with a good set of speakers ? Will I get good sound? Not looking for competition sound just better then stock
Yes it has a built in 400 watt class d amp, and if you later want even more we will have plug n play add on amps also
I have a 2014 FLHTKSE CVO, which has the stock radio and stock Boom amps. Is there any dealer involvement required after installation of this unit? Would this unit be compatible with the existing amplifiers? Also, would I need maestro?
This radio requires the maestro module to work, and yes it will retain your factory amplifiers with no need to go to your dealer
Is there any functionality that will be lost when moving to the idatalink and Soundstream v2? Also, I know you don't sell them, but is the Soundstream v2 compatible with the Wild Boar amps and speaker? I currently have the 400w amp and 2 speakers but looking to add another amp and lowers. Thanks!
Yes it works with wild boar, also only functionality lost is CB, if you even have cb from factory, headsets are wireless so the wired headsets also do not work.
Will I be able to add bag speakers with out any "flash" of the unit?
Correct, no need to flash anymore after replacing the stock radio
Damn IT i just ordered the SI
You can exchange it for a v2 if you have not installed it yet and pay the difference
ok..... think will have them by sturgis@@volunteeraudio
Ya'll going to have a booth at Datona this year ?
We will not
Looks awesome but, how would this new unit integrate with a H-D RF 8 speaker system set up paired with the Boom Box 6.5 GT along with the accompanying (2) H-D amps that are mounted in each saddle bag?
The hd rf system connects right up, they are not data turn on like boom 2
Thank you for your videos, Jake! Will this radio be able to use CB module from my old GT unit or does it have CB capability? I'm riding a 2015 FLTRUSE. I upgraded to the HDHU SI which I love and trying to figure communication as all my riding buddies use CB...
We need to get your friends into the future of wireless communication. No this radio will not use the factory Harley CB, it does connect to any headset, Cardo, Sena etc. With headsets and mesh networks you can communication much better than using a cb
I’m still rocking the old HD infotainment from 2015 with a hogtunes amp and speaker set up. Is the sound stream 14plus with thumb controls plug n play?
Yes it is
Hello great Video updates, Question is 1997-2013 Street glide radios get a new updated radio or are we just out of luck, Thanks
So far there is no new radio for your year model
They put this in my motorcycle Soundstream Reserve HDHU.14Si but am having an issue with it when I take to the shop for some reason the antenna will pick up want to take it away from the shop the antenna will not pickup any FM or AM stereo the radios only about 2 weeks old so don't understand what's happening have you heard of this at all
Do you have a hidden antenna? A mast antenna in the rear of the Harley gets the best reception, led lighting and class d amplifiers block fm reception so hidden antennas never work well
Will this radio work with the boom audio 8 speaker set up I the 2017 road glide special
Yes it will
Looks like an awesome radio but how does it compare to the new Rockford Fosgate radio that just came out? Ty
We did a full review between the Rockford radio and the hdhu14si, the soundstream radio blew it away in every part we tested, the v2 has so many more features that the si or Rockford radio.

The specs say this is a 200 w 4 channel built in amp, class A/B & 2 ohm. Does that mean I need to use 2 ohm speakers or can I use 4 ohm?
It can run 2ohm or 4 ohm speakers
Cool but expensive . im going with the diamond I think , I dont need the Maps . But It is interesting
The si, is a much better radio than the diamond knock off at a lower price, and it actually exists and has proven to be a great radio
If I get the V2 with a Sirius tuner, does it come with a trial subscription to Sirius?
No, you must activate it in order to listen but once activated you qualify for an online rebate, $50 prepaid Visa card and a $60 Sirius xm statement credit
Is this a 4 Chanel? I would like to run lowers with speakers. And I saw that the previous version has a mic. Can you talk on your cell without a mic on your helmet?
Trying to use a fairing mounted mic at speed is almost impossible for people to hear you on a call, yes it is a 4 channel amp but 2ohm stable so you could run up to 8 4ohm speakers
@@volunteeraudio thank you for responding. I’ll be in touch with you guys when you get them in stock.
I don't see a V2/amp/speaker/wiring package available for my 2017 street Glide CVO on your website. Any idea when that will be updated?
Give us a call tomorrow and we will custom build it for you, 1-844-30AUDIO
Great video Jay! Quick question... Do you have any idea if this V2 will work with the WIRED headset and intercom system that's stock on the Harley Ultra limited. I know I'm crazy but i hate wireless headsets. Batteries and charging, not too mention the cost of wireless is a no go for me. Thank you Sir.
No this radio is going to bring you into the future, wireless only for headsets
Awesome head unit but that's unfortunate for me. Thanks Jay for responding.
So they did the same thing rockford did with sharing music to each bike?
Not the same in function, they actually had this idea in development along time before Rockford released their radio, I think the idea was leaked and copied but as expected soundstream did a much better job, Rockford has limited the number of radios that can be connected to 6, soundstream can do up to 300 and range is much longer as well. But most importantly the radio is a much better value, feature to dollar ratio and makes sense to buy. You can not connect to your friends bike if he did not buy the same radio and this radio is far more likely to be purchased
What is the estimated installation cost if Volunteer Audio installs on a stock 2015 CVO Road Glide Ultra?
$100 if radio only using stock amps
Hi Jay, do you know if some of those new features such as the wireless apple carplay/adroid auto, bluetooth headset etc will be available for the HDHU.9813SG version. In otherwords will there be a version 2 for that radio? Thanks
I can’t speak of any other future models currently, soundstream is always innovating
Are you still able to use the handlebar controls for the radio?
Yes, you not only have thumb controls but fully programmable to do any function you want
Can I use a wired headset instead of blue tooth with this?
You can use a wireless headset with this, not wired
Do you flash these units before sending them out to customers on preorder?
Yes they will be updated and flashed
Does the nav app have a setting for avoiding dirt roads as part of the route plan?
Most navigation software has settings where you can select the types of roads
I had someone mention a new radio that Diamond Audio is coming out with. How does this compare? I’m trying to decide between the two.
No comparison, the diamond radio will be a lower quality version of the soundstream si, the new v2 radio will blow it away in both quality and features
@@volunteeraudio will you be at Sturgis? If so dates please. I live in Seattle so you guys are quite a ways. However I did purchase the hertz kit from you and was successful with that.
Is there a sound difference using wireless car play vs using a cable to get Car play
No, sound is the same
With the higher power output compared to stock GT system, any chance to damage stock Harley speakers?
I would not think so, but many people blow stock speakers by turning it up until it distorts and leaving it there trying to hear it at highway speeds, anyone can blow a speaker if they try hard enough
Does this radio have a microphone built into the head unit?
It has an external microphone
@@volunteeraudio Can you post a picture please? How is the microphone routed out of the fairing to prevent water intrusion?
@@JesseProetto you can mount it on the inner fairing and route the cable between the inner and outer fairing, the stock fairing is not water tight
What rear view camera works best with this radio.
Looking to mount it on the seat bolt
This is a good wired option
volunteeraudio.com/product/boyo-vtk501hd
How. Does this compare to the diamond audio radio that’s coming out for the Harley touring models
The diamond radio does not exist yet to compare, from the feature list that was released it seems to be an attempted copy of the hdhu14si. I have heard they will not likely have the full list of features they advertised. They have never produced a Harley radio before, and the manufacturer they have chosen is a very low end one in china that has never produced a certified CarPlay or android auto radio before, or Idatalink maestro capable radio before. There will be many issues from this and we plan to continue to sell the Soundstream radios that are years ahead of the game and proven to be very reliable.
¿Does it work to comunicate driver and passenger with the stock wired headset included on a 2016 FLHTK, Ultra Limited?
It will not work with wired headsets
2016 street glide special, will I need the ADS-MRR or ADS-MMR2?
Either one will work
Will you still need to add an amp if using this radio with the Hertz SPL SX 165 on a Road Glide Limited?
Depends on how loud you want it, this radio is 50watts rms, where as our hertz sp4.900 amp is 190watts rms per channel
Can you receive xm without buying a $500 reciever
It is a $45 module, not the overpriced Harley module
When or will they have a system that works with Thunder Max
So the issue is not a radio issue, thundermax does not send out the motorcycle info needed for gauges, I have been told that they are working with Idatalink to create a software update for the thundermax ecm to fix the gauge display issue, all other radio functions work including eitms status, oil pressure, voltage and tpms info
Will this work with the fosgate amp and speaker package? I have a 2015 roadglide.
Yes it will
Hey Jay, SiriusXM, Anyway to incorporate it? Thanks, God Bless!!😇👍
Yes it has a Sirius XM input, just add the sx300v1 tuner at check out! Thank you!
If you have xm on your phone can you just run it through apple car play or Android auto?
@@diffman75Yes.
I have a 2017 CVO with XM, will the V2 allow the XM antenna hook-up/function and show XM weather/traffic on the Nav app?
Weather and traffic would be xm360 which this radio does not have, you can have Sirius XM with the addition of the sxv300v1 tuner for $45 or use the Sirius XM app through apple carplay or android auto
So, if I already have the 14SI with Idatalink ADS-MRR and Hertz SP4.9, will the V2 simply replace the SI or will I need to call in for up grade help?
Amp setting will need changed, if reusing your existing mrr it will need programmed with the new radio serial number. We would be happy to help get it setup correctly
Nearly 2300€ after taxation, import fees and shipping to Germany. I would say at this point one should consider replacing the OEM speakers as well 😂
I would upgrade the speakers too 😂
Will the V2 also be compatible with Boom 2 amplifiers? Thanks
Yes it is, the Idatalink maestro will retain boom audio
Need a honest opinion. I have a 15 RGS with stock radio but upgraded RF speakers. I really want Apple CarPlay and I’m not one of those people who need the loudest systems especially since I’m gonna be riding with helmet and Bluetooth at high speeds. Should I get this or save money and get the si?
They are both great radios, it depends on features and which is better for you
I looking to get the V2 with hertz amp and hertz 6.5 for a 2021 RGS. Did not see a package option, did I miss something?
@@jeffmartin6200 we are loading all of that on our site, all will be live by Monday but until then you can call us at 1-844-30AUDIO and we can build you the package
does the v2 have a global eq? Or does it have a true dsp and allow custom eq front, rear, rcas separate? I see it has separate crossovers for front and rear wich is great. Really need to get separate eqs.
No, separating every channel to independent eqs would be a tech nightmare that 99.9 percent of our customers would not need or want. If you want a dsp get an actual dsp. Global 15 band eq is enough to confuse most consumers and dsps should be tuned with correct tools by professionals who know how to use them correctly. This radio has every feature that people actually want and need. No need to pretend you have a dsp like another brand is doing. This radio has a great internal eq, and clean rca/high level outputs. All decent amps have high pass and low pass filters at amp level which is where we prefer to set them.
Appreciate the info and all of your videos you do.
Does the Wireless Apple Carplay and Andriod Auto support Netflix and CZcams? Or will I have to use the plugin adapter?
No, this radio uses certified CarPlay and certified android auto which will not allow video through either

Will this be available for pre 2014 models?
