I don't get how even if you want this truck more than anything unless you're paying cash. There's nothing you can say that won't make you a idiot! Literally paying over sticker with a 10% rate.

Grabbed a 23 trail edition a few months ago. No regrets. Especially after seeing pricing on 2024!

I own a 21 off-road with only 18k on it and I was thinking to trade it in to get a 24 off road hybrid version. Based on the current prices I have to pay around 20k with my trade in to get the new hybrid off-road which is ridiculous. I will probably wait for this madness of difference between MSRP and SRP and DSRP subside. There would be a time when you can buy cars under MSRP again but at current market condition I would never buy a new Toyota.

Agreed. Planning to keep my 23 until the wheels fall off!

For $5000 more you get less mpg, unproven engine as well as less reliable and a bunch of new electronics to go bad.

Paid 31.5k for a new 2017 TRD Sport. looking at like 45k now. Ouch

Surely Toyota getting greedy. Expecting potential buyer or even current buyer to pay so much for the unproven reliability like the gen3 especially for new engine. Look at all the Tundra issues. Note, the rear seat seam smaller and the storage also smaller. The rear windows also smaller. What are they thinking 😢. Currently owning a 22 TRD Sport too. Glad I didn’t wait for the gen4. A lots of supposedly standard features, now they makes you pay for it.

To be completely honest, I feel like Toyota is completely out of touch. When it comes to how they focus on fuel economy they're cutting out a massive market that to be honest would probably pay that premium if they got better mileage. But it seems Toyota overlooks this year after year. I understand that Toyota has some of the best engines in the world, and if it isn't broken, don't fix it. But this is Toyota we're talking about. They have some of the best engineers in the world as well. There's no way they don't have a trick up their sleeves in order to improve the fuel economy for their consumers. For the past 15 years they're 4x4 vehicles have had less than satisfactory fuel performance.
If I compare Toyota to their counterparts. For example Chevrolet or gmc. I'd pick a Chevy without question. Sure, the tundra's are better built, and you don't have to worry as much about maintenance cost. But when I factor in fuel economy and these premiums in both new and used markets am really getting ahead? When you compare the fuel economy of a 2021 Silverado and. a Tundra, you nearly get double the fuel economy with the chevy. At the end of the day I'm filling up the tank more often than I'm getting my vehicle maintenancd. Not to mention that the Silverado is still a solidly built truck, despite being a GM vehicle.
I dunno. Toyotas are solid but they've breached into the territory of diminishing returns.

Not to mention GMC and Chevy are miles ahead on technology available in their vehicles, as well as much more inexpensive. Wouldn’t be surprised to see loyal Toyota consumers being priced out, moving to Chevy, and being pleasantly surprised with what they offer. Thanks for the take!

Toyota has always been more expensive than domestic vehicles, but this is ridiculous.

I agree that the price is high but you did not build the 2023 Tacoma. This is exactly the same as most other You Tubers and it is crazy that everyone is believing you. If you would have built a 2023 Tacoma TRD Off road 4x4 with a 6 foot bed the base price would be $41,860. The base price of the 2023 is listed as a 4x2 the 2024 TRD Off Road is 4x4 only. Please get your facts straight before posting. Dealer markups are not an issue if you look for the right dealer, there are lots of sites to find dealers that do not markup from coast to coast, or if there is not one near you they will deliver or $500 will buy a flight.

At 1:37 in your video, you say that this includes the "naturally aspirated V6 engine". For 2024 there are no more V6 engines, only 4 cylinder. Try again!
