- In this video I create a borosilicate glass vortex marble from start to finish.
Starting with a cobalt color rod I use hale silver fume and half gold fume to create a simple lined cane which is then twisted. On the end of the large clear rod used to build the marble I place three dots of color and then plunge those into the core of the marble. The fumed cane is wound back and forth forming the main backdrop element. Black frit finishes off the background. The back side is built out in my usual process with raked color lines using aqua blue, sparkling blue and black floating over the reflective silver fumed base.

I really love the variety of your work. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what you come up with next week! I can't wait to get the marble from last week in my hands.
Super cool! Is there a reason for using stainless steel for the pokeys instead of titanium?
