Nvidia realizes that any hype about the 4070 being more powerful than the 3090ti is going to kill any further sales momentum for current generations.
it will be nice if AMD release or before Nvidia few weeks new rtx 7000 cards then they will have headache and will must release before new cards and old rtx 3000 will go down in price
Thats exactly why I think we won't see a 4070 until sometime in 2023. I think its even questionable whether or not they will release the 4080 this year in any quantities at all. I think they want to make boatloads of money from 4090 and make sure 30 series is still under everyone's Christmas tree to eliminate remaining stock.
@@Mr11ESSE111 what? Do you mean AMD RX 7000 series or nvidia 4000 series?
@@Ja_Crispy rx 7000,if amd release it before then nvidia will must release pretty soon rtx 4000 if they want to stay competitive
I wanted to buy a 3060 Ti or 3070 back when this generation launched but I wound up going with a 6700 XT over pricing. I'm not waiting for prices to drop when their competition already did so.
Did the exact same thing. 4000 is going to be a mess I'm good with AMD right now. The OC on the 6700 XT is insane btw. I'm getting a 23% OC.
@@wes9451 I ended up with a reference model because of those weeky MSRP drops on AMD's website back when things were only just starting to get better so I don't have much in the way of headroom. Still, I can play what I want at 1440p so I'm pretty happy.
Dude I love the time and consistency you upload. perfect for when I first get into work and enjoy my coffee. Thank you!
Brett and his stadia flashback you can see it in his eyes
Yes, let Nvidia feel the pain. The lower the better. They deserve it.
I am drunk off of Nvidia's misery right now.
Let them roast
"Everybody who's been waiting for a GPU from Nvidia is waiting for the prices to go even lower to continue to stick it to their big fat green heads." 👌
They sold all their GPU lots to miners back then, now they blame gamers for not buying GPUs. I want to smudge that all over their faces.
If you are waiting to stick it to their "big fat green head" then buy amd.
Yep, still waiting on their RX 7000 benchmarks to decide between that and RX 6000.
@@BrianBGeronimo me too!
Feel the burn nvidia
no chance i'll buy gpu now instead when huge performance boost comes in potentially months.
10gb for mid tier is unacceptable for this generation. 12 is the minimum that should be there for the 4060, 16gb minimum for 4070, 24gb minimum for 4080+.
Let's just say Nvidia is more efficient at using VRAM... btw, how much do you really need?
If using a program like DaVinci Resolve, then you need as much vram as you can get. Who knows, maybe one day Adobe's programmers will figure out how to better leverage vram, too.
@@kerbodynamicx472 they're not though... Mostly the same as AMD. Differences are minimal at best. You can already get a hit in performance with some games at 4k if you have only 10GB, that's today! (Cyberpunk for example). Moving on, games will require more and more VRAM at 4k and yes the 4070 will definitely be a 4k AAA capable card with the kinds of performance increases we're being teased. If you buy a 4070 to play at 1080p that's fine, it could have 10GB but realistically people will buy it to run at least 1440p, likelly 4k. 1440p ultra wide also has about the same performance requirements as 4k... Yeah, 12GB is a minimum for the 4070 and with 12GB it will have VRAM issues sooner than I'd like for a kinda high-end card.
They'll probably start it out at 10gb. And present it as a "budget option". Then come out wit 12 gb for the 4070 Ti. To make sure that it doesn't cannibalize any of market share for their 4080 and 4090
@@marinrealestatephotography I definitely saw much better performance in DaVinci Resolve moving from 8GB VRAM to 12 GB.
Waiting with a 1080 and spending money on guitars and things. Sticking it to nvidia. My next GPU will be AMD.
Always entertaining! Thanks Brett ❤️
I was really hoping the 4080 would be between 12000-14000 cuda cores instead of a paltry 9700, that gap between it and the 4090 seems even too wide for the 4080 Ti to bridge.
Honestly, the could just use an slightly binned 4090. And use that for the 4080 Ti. That would give them the cuda cores they need for a bridge between the 4080 and 4090
Bleeping cox has been the funniest joke in this channel
I can't decide what to comment yet.
2:48 They're using the keyswitch puller sideways!
Brett canceled Cox. You heard it here, folks.
Probably one base 4070, one "tie" sku, one "super" sku, one "KO" sku, and one "super duper" sku. I'm really disappointed we didn't get super and KO SKUs with the 30 series, but at least we still got the confusing / deceptive VRAM variants.
"And back to you Steve!"
It's the Batman jingle that gets the Cryptostonks retention!
I was ready to get a new system a few months back, Asus dark hero, 5900x, 3080ti, ZEN 3 stuff. But now there's little nvidia can do to entice me to buy their 3000 series. Now am looking for a Z4 rig with the new AMD cpu and I'll wait for the 4000. Nvidia should of dropped priced months ago, too late now for me, I'll wait.
Exactly why I went AMD
A 10GB 4070 would be pitiful!
Agreed
A 12gb would be barely acceptable.

I paid Stadia for 2 years. Damn them.
10GB 4070, that’s just sad honestly, unless it is cooler and performance at least 20% better than last gen. I doubt it will beat the 3090 sadly.
it's most likely between 3080 and 3080Ti, nvidia will come out and say hey look 4070, faster than 3080 starting at 599
@@plasticelephant1969 the 3080 ti is only about 5% better than the 3080 in FPS, that’s just sad honestly. If it’s 499 maybe but anything over 500 is just a scam.
I think it’s a pipe dream to believe the 4070 will beat a 3090, no matter the speed or GBs of VRAM on board.
That would literally cannibalize their GPU stock of the current gen.
Historically, Nvidia has been all about the dollar.
@@The_Word_Is_The_Way Historically speaking the 70 is last gen best, but currently the progress is too slow to continue the trend
@Husha563 Well, let's see
☺️
i refuse to buy 2 year old hardware for the same price it came out with. i wouldn’t mind a 3080 12GB but i’d only buy one for $600 or less, will probably buy a used one
Allow me to make it easier for them. 12GB=me buy. 10GB=me no buy
I think they're bluffing if they offer 4070 with 10GB they'll also offer the 4060ti for 10GB then everyone would stick to the 4060ti then Nvidia would lose a 100$ on average of per customer spending
Honestly for a 70 class and above 16gb+ should've been standard, amd had the right idea with radeon 6000. And the 10 gig 3080 really turned me off the higher end.
Cox sensorship killed me 🤣
I'm getting a vibe Brett find enjoyed his Cox time
YES! DBZ abridged reference. This is why ur great Brett.
Yeah I'm with you on the cox things lol. I have terrible experiences with them
4070ti should hv 14gb at least
Man 12GB is minimum for 4070 in my opinion, 4070Ti 16GB would be ideal but yeah 14GB at the bare minimum for the Ti model
I would love it if you had a Daily Dissent segment where you warn us of the latest scam / dumpster fire.
Already bought AMD during the shortage and I don't think I'll be going nvidia next gen. I think that's a huge problem they're having
I'm waiting to see how the next amd gpus are going to handle work loads to see what I want to buy. If a 7800xt can compete with rendering at a low power usage I'll buy it.
I got 3080 very early before the shortage
I am totally getting by RN using the on board graphics on my overclocked 10700k cuz my GPU blew and I refuse to buy until next gen GPU's comes out lol
omg he said the word
i mean how could i skip crypto? ofcourse i wanna know how that little puppy is doing. :)
The 4070 Tie?……oh no…. they’ve gotten to you too haven’t they?
The Cox joke is funny when you have lived in South Africa
You have no idea how long I have been looking to add the word antonym to my lexicon... now that I discovered this word I am truly a much more complete person! My Google search skills will only grow because of this!
don't get why nvidia is confused on 4070, 12GB is already just average, and AMD RX 7000 is so competitive
That Logitech device could be cool if it's a flagship snapdragon, mediatek or exynos on board capable of playing Diablo Immortal or Genshin Impact natively 🤷 otherwise a straight up WiFi only streaming device is going to suck 🤣 sure you can probably attach a USB type-C Ethernet dongle to it. USB 3.0 with HDMI output support would help too 🤷
COX! 🐔🐔🐔
They just need to drop the price of their low end. Though, I believe AMD has taken a big cut to margins to move out inventory and perhaps Nvidia has decided to maintain margins with some other plan in mind i guess?
it looks like 4070 and 4070ti!
I know that the stock market wants to look at year over year percentages but I dont think these decreases really mean that much in the comparison to last year. All the companies made excess products to meet pandemic demands and that should never have been the expectation going beyond the pandemic where everyone is no longer binded to their computer outside China. Pair that with crypto falling off a cliff its a recipe for year over year decreases that were predictable.
Tune in tomorrow for Spoocy News with Brett Host
I have a 3070Ti I spent too much for in Newegg shuffle, but I am holding onto it until I can either get a 3090 at a steal, or they release a GPU worth the upgrade. 12 gigs is not going to be enough vram at 12 gigs for a 3070. I hope AMD beats them in performance and vram in the next cycle.
It seems to obviously be both, and comparing it to the 3090 is pointing out that it should easily be able to do 4k+ better, indeed making it look like a 3090 with half the ram at best
I miss the Stadia rants. I got excited for a second that Brett was going to do one. Sad he didn’t 🥺
Good logitech so where is sony microsoft sega and atari to get into the mobile gaming
I've wanted to buy an Nvidia 3080 for a lonnnnng time. But I refuse to be ripped off. These prices need to atleastttt get down to the msrp
Dont wanna make it too good, or people won't buy the ones they dont need.

If I see Cox appearing on my phone, when I didn't ask for it, I'm gonna be mad 😡
Nvidia get that 10gb limit out of your damn head its not enough.

that 5800X for $250 is killer price
COX would make anyone miss Comcast Xfinity.
If it has 10GB of ram it's just a discounted 3080. Might as well get a cheap 3080 on ebay after the 4000 announcement and Ethereum merge.
The 4070 #1 has the memory bandwidth of my RTX 2080 Super. That's not good!
Well hello Brett
Why buy a 3080 when the 4070 just around the corner? Makes no sense.
Surely, it’s around the corner
It would be weird if it's 10 GB considering 3060 non-ti is 12GB right now, my best purchase ever and I have 3 of em for rendering machines. If it ain't at least 12GB, then it's hard for me to even consider an upgrade - if it even can be called that
Wow 5800X 👀
That is why I'm not buying a new 3000 series nVidia card, if they don't drop even more I'm going to get tired of waiting and get a AMD card below MSRP.
I just don’t understand waiting to drop a new product.. if I get a 30 or any gpu at a good price why would I get a 40? Especially if needs are met… It’s either one or the other for me… the longer they wait the closer I am to buying a 30, amd, or even trying an Intel gpu.. 🤷♂️

edit: if you had a flat-top haircut
I want a 3080 but I really have to wait until prices come down to even afford them. If Nividia wont let prices come down they wont sell any of these GPUs because not everyone is living in a country like amarica where wages are good.
tracking bitcoin is a guilty pleasure, but I don't have to check myself when I get it here :p brettfast this morning was french toast and 2 eggs fried over hard
why would i buy a 30 series card now it's too late 40 series is too close now so if a 4070 is going to be on par with a 3090 why would i bow any more than $500 on it?
Nvidia dug their grave. Now they can lie in it.
3000 series very poor value ,both in performance and cost , kept my 2080ti . Will buy ether a 4080 or 4080Ti depending on reviews/ performance ,will not waste money on the old and worthless 3000 cards ,may even go over to AMD if they turn out to be good .
For the price nvidia is asking for their GPUs nowadays and what they will most liley ask for the 4000 series, they should give us 16GB on the 4070, not 8, not 10, not 12, 16! If it is to be more powerful than the 3090ti, people will run stuff at 4K and you will definately need the extra VRAM.
And that’s the reason why they won’t give you the vram! If a 4070 can run 4K then no one will buy the higher tier cards
I still remember the pictures of whole skids of GPUs being sold to minors over gamers AMD win by default with me
WRT CryptoStonks - that is the highlight of the show: sometimes you comment on the advert on the web page, and THAT is priceless!

agh
The reason I dont buy GPU because I dont have money 🤣

ahh
Dang it
If Intel and it's partners can get screwed over on the 11k series then I think Nvidia and it's partners can get screwed over a little as well . Look at last year when they had it so well ...
The GPU makers already made crap loads off of above msrp prices. Now they are selling them at msrp and they didn't really make too many gpus this time. Store shelves are full because people stopped buying them. Nvidia got rich and the 3000 series that don't sell are a fraction of the profit they ended up with thanks to mining.
Yeah Ethereum crashing has created a serious disruption to Nvidia. They have to take into concern what gamers want now and it hurts. We care about heat, power consumption, and the price of a fucking GPU. We do not buy 5 cards at a time with no questions asked.
Most likely it's gonna be around 3080 Ti, not super excited for it.
