- Whaz UP my dear boys and girls it's your PRB12 here and WELCOME to a theory/discussion video and this one wasn't really my idea, but a rumor that has been widely spreaded throughout the entire community: that RIKO aka the upcoming next main character of the pokemon anime is suppossively the child of both ASH AND SERENA?! 0.o
why does this rumor exist and why.....it can actually help the future of the anime!

I love this theory so much, especially the narrative potential it sets up: having two parents who were widely successful trainers in their day, with Serena as a top coordinator/performer and Ash a world champion. That’s a lot to live up to, and Riko may initially struggle under that self-perceived pressure of finding her own way, getting out of her parents’ shadows, and finding out for herself what it means to be a Pokémon trainer. Maybe she’ll choose to follow in Ash’s footsteps, or Serena’s, or both, or neither. The world is hers to discover.
Yea same! I think that ash serena and Riko live in kalos and go on holiday to paldea to get Riko inrolled to the school and get their first partner and start a journey and have new dreams. Sprigatito seems the best choice for Riko as a partner and possibly Roy is the son of Ash and Serena because whenever I look at Roy, I see Ash

Riko being the child of the previous Protag would be great look at Dragon Ball we had Goku then Gohan then Pan, So we could have Riko being annoyed that People keep saying that she is leeching of her parents Fame and she could say Who cares who my Parents are I have my own dream and Goal, I am not leeching of anyone and then she could remember Ash telling her what her Grandfather told Ash when he was a kid. Riko being the daughter of Ash would help the Franchise, because it will help them accept her, also why does she have a Thunder Stone round her neck, it is obviously the same one Ash had, because otherwise who buys a Thunder stone just to make it an accessory

I could also see her having a very distant relationship with her father cause Ash would probably still be traveling around the world so she wouldn't really know much about her father's personality.
It's sad that people have forgotten where Ash got his hat, i.e. its back story. In the episode where Primeape was introduced, Ash said that he won the hat in the Indigo League lottery and it's special hat because it's rare collectable. So that stylized triangular L logo that imitates a mountain is not related to Ash in any way, it's the regional Pokemon league logo.

Perhaps, but if this is taking place in Paldea, that has a different league symbol, Riko’s choice to incorporate that into her look becomes all the more personal.
Tru tbh the symbol at the end of the day could just be a throwback to when ash started his journey in season 1 and now that is happening to riko starting her journey in the new reboot "season 1"

It’s not that people forgot. It's that, from a visual storytelling perspective, a design choice like that is likely intended to invoke thoughts of Ash within the audience, strongly hinting at a relationship (be it symbolic or literal) between the new main and the old. The hairclip very well may be of the League’s Logo within the Anime world, but the symbol’s incorporation into Riko’s design likely has nothing to do with the League and everything to do with Ash. Again, even if the two characters aren’t actually related as family, the creators clearly want the audience to draw a connection between Ash and Riko. Otherwise, her hairclip would have been drawn differently.
I still stand by Riko being Ash's daughter is the best possible route the anime could take. Not only does it allow Ash's ridiculously long story to end, but it gives a fresh blank slate to work with character wise while still holding resemblance to Ash. Like you said, it's easier for fans to accept, and it's far more believable for a new main protagonist to be the daughter of a world champion rather than just some random 10 year old going to school. Regardless of who the mother is, (tho I do personally hope it's Serena too) this was the one route they needed to take, and hopefully they are taking it.

There is also the argument that Dawn outright states that she doesn't have romantic feelings for Ash, she just admires his tenacity and respects him.
I’ve watched all of diamond and pearl and no were in the series does dawn say that her being dawns daughter is way more likely than Serena cause she has blue and black hair if she was Serena’s daughter she would have blonde hair not blue I’m not trying to argue or anything I’m just stating facts in the episode were Lyra asked dawn if ash was her boyfriend she quickly denied it and she wouldn’t have done that so quickly if she didn’t have feelings for ash secretly of course it’s also possible that she’s not ash’s daughter at just a another trainer without any relation to ash in any way course that’s just my opinion

I watched Diamond and Pearl all the way through, when a person denies they like someone because they like them they are audibly in denial. Dawn however was more confused more than anything and calmly told Lyra why she admired Ash and did not show any signs of being embarassed which is trope in anime.

@@Tharja-iBW Personally, I think that as fans of the franchise we are seeing something that perhaps is not due to kinship and genetics, Ash x Dawn, it could be others claim that she is serene just because she kissed Ash and nothing else has happened personally. I like the 2 pokegirls in journey serena appeared only once and dawn several times until the support in the championship eye I am not charging next to dawn she is ash's best friend but if we take accounts in general with the exception of the drawing quality from alola all the pokegirls are drawn the same at the beginning with the drawing quality of the 90s they took misty's face as a sketch for may in advance and the same for dawn, serena and now I don't see why there wouldn't be a difference and regarding the The pin is possibly a detail for the opening of the new anime, giving it a tribute or air to what Ash was in the beginning, possibly a symbol of good luck, so it is better not to speculate personally. I think they will leave the fi Ash's ending as an open ending, after the 11 special chapters because pokemon is not an anime that has a romance, that's why the kiss of serena in the continuation of the anime was forgotten otherwise, they would have been considered important for the development of the character and They didn't do it so it's something they did at the time to give something that was never seen in the franchise and incidentally raise the TV ranking, personally I'd prefer it not to have offspring and just make it grow as a teenager 15, 16 years because if this anime does not look good in Japan as an emergency plan they should bring Ash to raise the TV ranking or return to the anime with some crazy adventure or movie that does not follow an order within the same anime or a reebot as in pokemon i choose you the movie.
I haven’t heard of this theory floating around till now, and after seeing Riko’s character design with the points being brought up, it’s quite a good theory. Of course, and not saying this’ll happen, but if it was an alternate universe, and this theory was confirmed true, it would be the best of both worlds. A new generation of Pokémon, with dual protagonists, with the main one of the two being the daughter of Ash… it would be a great idea. And with the added part that Serena could be the mother, oh man I think it’s just a headcanon that I’d love to see (even if it doesn’t actually happen). After watching the ending of one anime, and seeing the sequel series after it (I’m sure some of you know which anime I’m referring to), it was crazy that it ended after so long, but the idea of what happened at the end, and where things go in the sequel series, it makes sense. The son or daughter of the main character succeeding them is just a great story to be told in itself. Even if the theory doesn’t turn out to be true, I do hope this series will be great on it’s own. Im excited for what Riko and Roy will be doing for their adventures. But yeah, this theory has some good points for it, and well done explaining it all
Even if it isn't true could still be a great fanfiction AU/rewrite idea or better yet have an OC that is Ash and Serena's child or Misty's depending on your preference.
@@creativecutieprincessd Yeah, I’m sure there’s already rewrite fanfics out there, and I’d love to see what people come up with specifically for the end of journeys, or maybe the end of the Aim to be a Pokemon Master, once that 11 episode special runs and finishes next year. But yeah, either way, I’m excited to see the end of Ash’s journey and what the future holds for the anime in the next generation. By the way, i hope your weekend is going well

I'm really shocked that Ash's story is coming to an end I've been an on off anime viewer for years now and seeing Ash pass the protag roll to someone else is pretty crazy in my eyes but I'm sure this isn't the end of Ash and Pikachu I bet we'll see them again from time to time in those Japan exclusive episodes or much later in S&V run. Either way I'm curious to see where Pokémon will go in the future.

I could see Riko being Ash’s and Serena’s daughter. I think it’ll be a smart move if they continue Ash’s legacy through her. Her mom is one of the top coordinators and her dad the greatest champion in the world. Maybe she travels to Paldea to proof herself and not live in neither of her parents shadows. Plus it would be nice if Riko’s parents are Ash and Serena. We would get to see cameos here and there from both and maybe existing characters. Crazy theory also that just came to my head. Her ace will probably be an electric type like Ash. What if her ace Pokémon is Pawmi. Strange enough how for this generation we receive a 3 stage electric pikachu-clone line.
There is no way that she is their daughter. If that was the case, then she would likely be talking about her dad’s legacy a lot often, but the writers want to steer away from Ash

I do watch how Ash & Serena's backcomb parents Rica, this would be something really cool!!! Maybe she journeys to the Paldea region because show her parents how is determined, courageous, and brave she and that she is not afraid of any challenge. Hmmm... Parents shadow, this is an interesting statement and it seems to me that will best reflect what will happen in the plot new Pokemon anime series!!! Ash & Serena's legacy which will rest on the shoulders of their daughter is an absolutely interesting plot idea. Hmmm... I don't she choose electric-type pokemon, on a concept poster beside a Pokemon starter from the Paldea region Sprigatito, this is the name.
Hmmm... Maybe the beginning plot first episode new Pokemon anime will focus on how Rica's ownership of a mysterious pokemon egg from the Paldea region from which to hatch Sprigatito's female Rica's future pokemon starter!!!

It’s said Riko doesn’t like to talk about her surname and her family, could show her displease of popularity of her parents. As it forces expectations of others on her. Like the child of a World champion and the daughter of a famous Pokémon Performer can be a very stressful role. She’s also supposed to be from Kanto as well which is her background. According the information given, she is also a very good battler and Pokémon likes her, which is why she wants to be A Pokémon groomer. This reminds me of Ash with battle skills. If she is Ash and Serena’s daughter, I’m imagining she’s always surrounded by people complimenting to her about her dad and mum. So she decided to go to Paldea without others knowing her background to be herself and become what she wanted.
I can also see her kinda resenting her parents, mainly ash for having this pressure put on her. I can see she doesn't get along with Ash because Ash probably travels around the world to the point he doesn't spend much time with his family.

I feel like Ash wouldn't be a bad father because we never really saw Ash's father or his connection to him, but this also applies to Naruto and he became a bad dad

Similarities of Riko(Liko) with Ash Ketchum And Serena :
1. The hair colour is the same kind as Ash Ketchum.
2. The colour of the eyes is exactly the same as
Serena.
3. The Eyelashes are same as of Grace (Serena's mother).
4. The position of clip is same as Serena's mother (Grace) uses.
5. The clip resembles the logo from Ash's hat in the kanto and johto regions.
7. Obsession of the character with colour blue is the same as Ash Ketchum.
There may be many more but these were the most visible 💯💯💯
6. The scene of her with Sprigatito in the classroom is similar to the scene as Serena chooses fennekin).

It would be funny if they do reveal that she is Ash's Daughter but they don't say who the mother is
Since Ash would not be the only one aging, we could potentially see the time-skipped version of most, if not all the old characters too, it would be interesting to see their personality changes, like how mature and experienced they got, both as persons, and in Pokemon battles. This is like a long overdue moment for Pokemon fans because lots of other animes have their main characters growing up too such as Dragonball, Naruto, Digimon etc.
when I first saw Riko, the first thought I had was "is she the daughter of Ash" but now I really, she is the daughter of Ash and Serena, I also once imagined the anime ending with their daughter starting her journey, it would be a nice way to round out everything.

Lei's outfit has a Pikachu on it which he is most likely to be traveling around the remaining Region's together with both Riko and Roy!
Means that this will most likely be the Final Pokemon Anime Series with the rest of the Regions in it and it could end in 2027 to 2028 but the Pokemon games will continue on because of certain Anniversary's!

We Pokemon fans just found out that Liko is from the Paldea Region which means that she isn't related to Ash at all and that mysteries Pendant isn't a Thunder Stone but it could have something to do with the New Terrastalization Mechanic! 🤔👌

Personally I do think it is Serena because Riko resembles her so much, but sadly I don't think they would give fans that info. I also think that Ash will lend Pikachu to Riko for her adventure. I just can't see Pokemon without Ash's Pikachu.

I doubt Ash’s Pikachu will be lent because Ash’s Pikachu is inseparable from Ash. If they’re going to keep Pikachu, it would probably be a new one who can learn and grow, even from help from Ash’s Pikachu.
Take everything with a grain of salt. Riko could be a massive fan of Ash for all we know. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they went down this route considering Ash is no longer going to be the main focus moving on. Don't get your hopes up is all I'm saying but I get the speculation and hype. I too want to also see Ash and Serena, a married power-couple!

The only "issue" I have with this theory is the idea that if she really is Ash's daughter, not only would Ash be an adult by the time of this anime, but also everyone else has aged too and thats just a weird thing to imagine. Like I cant imagine a 40 year old Cynthia, a 30 year old Paul, a 25? year old Bonnie, ect.

Well there are various changes in SV that weren’t in any of the past Pokémon games and animes, take lono for example she is a streamer a concept that wasn’t in any of the past game nor was it a concept that appeared in the anime. So there should be a time jumó unless they exclude the gym leaders and go the journeys route which I doubt they will do
There is also the rotor phones which have become more widespread so there has to be a form of time jump

Another thing that makes sense about Riko being Ash's daughter is that from the perspective of the older fans it's like a generation ending for them. Fans of the series from day 1 may already have children and being able to start smth new is like passing down the baton to the future generation, the kids. Also seems like a fun way to just bond over something, past and future generations connecting.

I guess you could say Ash used Baton Pass on Riko (That's only if she's actually his kid, of course).
Interesting theory. If it turns out that Riko is Ash's daughter I'm thinking the best option would be to never show who the mother is. The fandom would go crazy watching every episode to try and figure it out. Just like we have been speculating all these years about who Ash's father is. It would make more people want to watch the show and not dismiss all the fans who have their favorites. Revealing the mother would split the fandom and the viewership of the new show.

I like that explination. I do prefer Serena over all of the pokegirls but that is just my opinikn. Ash has ben the star of pomemon for years. If he is replaced by Riko she could have some conection to Ash as his daughter or just a fan. If she is his daughter knowing hwo her mother is would probley not be nesicarry for the story and just keeping that unresolved will just keep the piece. Considering the girls wer replaced practicley everry generation and some pokefans would no know all them we can keep that unresolved and it would be fine. It's probley Ash moste peopl want in Riko as her personality and such.
I don't think Japan takes ship wars as seriously as the west does. They don't care which girl is whose favorite, they'll do whatever makes the most sense. Actual fans won't drop a show just because their ship didn't happen
I would love it to be so, what a wholesome message of generations passing on the joy. All the people who started this journey are adults now and many have kids that are being drawn to pokemon. It is a great feeling to ones kids to take up your passion. I can see the video phone calls of Ash checking up on her journey.
Riko being Ash and Serena's daughter makes sense - i've also seen people consider Dawn. But Dawn has greyish blue eyes , and bluish hair; and far more bluish than Riko and Serena has the striking blue eyes that are starkly similar to Riko's. And Pokémon REALLY was consistent with Serena's feelings in XY and Z. Some of Ash's companions probably had a small crush, but Serena's crush was implied to the point that it was so obvious to anyone. Out of all the Pokegirls, Serena had the most implied i've seen.
If that is not the case, Ash Ketchum will undeniably have a cameo or several cameos in the new series. Perhaps as a Pokémon master. Standing as an inspiration for young Riko and Roy.
They changed Dawn but it wouldn't make any since for Riko to be the daughter of Serena because she has blond hair as for Dawn she is still notable for blue hair.

Riko might not actually be related to Ash whatsoever, which is possibly the most likely alterative. I would love for her to be Ash's daughter but we'll have to wait and see.

I don't particularly care too much about who the mom is. Any girl that had a romantic interest in Ash was legitimately great. I am completely on board with you on the idea that Riko being Ash's daughter would definitely benefit her in being more accepted by the Pokemon community, and it would guarantee that Ash would no longer be the "forever 10-year-old".

I think Riko's hairpin may represent Rayquaza's head, but the thunderstone necklace just has to be Ash's. Riko's outfit is also the same trench coat dress style that Serena wore in the later half of XY. I really hope it does turn out she is Ash and Serena's daughter. The odds are definitely looking good.

Great video as a first-time watcher of your channel I loved your points because we had a lot of very similar thoughts. As someone attempting to get an MBA and head into law, I can also talk more in-depth into the business side of why this theory makes sense it's actually as simple as starting with a new character and never seeing Pikachu and she again is considered "business suicide" as thinking of pokemon goes hand in hand with the thought of Pikachu specifically. Now I agree with them not wanting to carry on their story forever because if it's always Ashe at 10 years old it will get stale. Still, I do think they are essential right now to the franchise's survival as without them merchandise sales would plummet and fewer people may watch the shows. However, as you explained making Riko his daughter would give fans a much easier transition into the Riko pokemon universe but not only that it gives the company security to bring back Ashe and Pikachu as many times as needed/wanted and make it make sense! Even from a business POV, this theory makes extreme sense because the opposite of them not having any connection is as stated possibly "business suicide". Very well said.
This is kind of insane. I remember back at the league of XYZ when people were speculating about the possibility that of Ash won the league, they would change the protagonist. All those crazy theories about how he would end up with Serena and his kids would continue the journey.
At the time, it sounded so out of mind I actually didn't think of it even as a possibility. And although I was correct during that moment, now it seems there's actually a chance of it happening. I don't remember if this is confirmed or not, but I saw on Twitter a description of Riko that said she moved to Paldea from Kanto and that she doesn't speak much of her family. I don't know if this is the truth, but if it is, they really want to push the idea that she's Ash daughter just for the mystery. I mean, what a better story for the daughter of the champion of the world than trying to get away from that title by going to the only region his dad isn't as famous at.
All of this is assuming that she's, in fact, Ash's daughter, which from the views of it, might not actually be true. A very popular counter theory of Riko is that she's actually a fan of Ash, choosing that pin specifically because she remembers the champion wearing it. I also like that theory. While I would love to see Ash and Serena together and having a kid, having her as a different character inspired by Ash would make the series way less dependent on Ash. Something that continuation of stories tend to do wrong is rely on the past main characters too much. I wouldn't like seeing pokemon fall under that trope, cause just thinking that it would go the Boruto or DBZ Buu arch route just makes me sad.

Its possible that it could be Ash and Serenas daughter due to the looks of Rikos character and the hint the Director of the XYZ series droped in an interview when XYZ ended. He mentioned somewhere along the line that "they could be a couple in the future but not now" since Ashs journey was still going, but now that his journey has ended this statement might serve true because its already been years since this hint and now here we are with Riko the potential daughter of Ash and Serena.
I guess it would definetly be a smoother Transition to a new lead and please some of the people who dont want 2 See Ash go. But tbh If she really is Ashes daughter i could see them not telling us who the mother of riko is to not anger certain parts of the Pokemon Community.

There is probably no connection let's be honest with ourselves, the writers really aren't that deep nor are they really that good (as witnessed by the silly tropes in the all the previous seasons, Ash goes to region, loses, leaves his pokemon behind, resets all knowledge and does it all over again) Probably the same thing here just with two new protagonists.

Another neat part is that Black hair is a dominant hair color, while Blond is a recessive trait, but Riko has 'blue hair' and we don't know how that specific gene interacts as we don't have an equivalent.

I can't watch the video right now but here are my thoughts anyways. Genetically there isn't much too discuss as the pokemon universe doesn't usually follow any logic with having the characters looking similar to their parents. However both Riko and Ash share character traits. Riko's description states that she is from Kanto, she loves pokemon, has a knack for battles, shares a special bond with pokemon and has an easygoing attitude. All of those can also be applied to Ash in some way. I don't think she is Ash's daughter yet since pokemon is already doing the unthinkable by removing Ash they could do the second unthinkable and introduce his daughter.

If it’s true, Ash has to be time skipped up to at least mid twenties. I also hope they mentioned he has been to every region, even ones not revealed yet, to show he is still traveling and is still trying to get stronger and see all mons. Have his old mons evolve and be known from every region due to him using them all again. Have him have a trip with Primape and a Tarous to have Primape evolve and have more Tarous in Oaks backyard. I wouldn’t mind if he becomes similar to Leon in a sense he is looking for someone knew to challenge him. Granted he has Paul, Leon, Gary and all to compete with. So many ways they can take his character and I hope he is know in every single region going forward as the World Champ. Another thing is he becomes a battle instructor with Mrs. Dendra at the school. If not that a guest speaker. I really wanted to see him journey with Nemona, Penny, and Avern, but it’s cool. Imagine if Nemona and Ash would’ve reset their team like Ash does every region and how she does in the game that would’ve been cool to see.

My only disappointment of Ash leaving and I wish was one more season of the anime for Ash is bc Journeys really didn’t feel like a good end to Ash so I kinda wish he could’ve gotten one more shot for his conclusion to end properly. That or Journeys should’ve done better in its writing with character returns, Ash using past team members and the Master’s 8, as Journeys was more cameos and one offs than actually arcs that really brought everything together for an ending. If that was the case I would be happy his journey comes to a close and having his potential daughter to step in
This would actually be great. It could create the sort of Boruto dynamic of a protagonist riding the wave of success of his dad, but finding the hard way how you have to put the hard work to get to that far which would be a cool lesson for kids to learn and at the same time giving ash the respect he deserves both in his strategies and accomplishments

I'm personally on board with this theory and it seems really plausible from a canon standpoint as well. I never even thought of Riko's jacket resembling Serena's second XYZ outfit but it really does. I hope this theory is true in some way, shape or form. Especially because it would indicate a passage of time in the Pokemon world and that the characters we know and love are living their lives and have hopefully taken up other pursuits or became an expert in their respective fields. If Riko is (possibly) Ash's daughter, then is Roy possibly Goh's and (maybe) Koharu's son? Just a guess on my part, I don't know for sure. Either way, it's fun to think about.

My opinion for Rico being Serena and Ash's Daughter is because of where she lives. She lives in paldea(Spain) which is just below Kalos(France) and since Serena is also from Kalos so that explains it

Actually I have a pretty solid theory based on the facts that the Main player in the Alola games can, canonically, be viewed as Ash Ketchum's child if you look at all the facts.
As soon as I saw the character designs, i came up with this theory(mostly because I wanted this since sun and moon but also because of hair and eye color)
with a theory like that and what seemed like a fanmade illustration of an older ash and go in gen 9 coming to light. though still 25 years. I can kind of see it being one of ash's kin for relevance, though same could be said with Roy being Go's kid.
For starters "Liko" or "Riko" if she is going to be his daughter, then it being Serena being the mother makes sense. Same eye color, same skin tone, practically the same face. It works. Then again even if she's not his daughter then I'm still looking forward to the series.

Riko is one of the two new protagonists for the 2023 mainline pokemon anime and her character stuck a certain resemblance to the past beloved protagonist Ash Ketchum or Satoshi (in Japan) I have some key evidence that proves this and possibly gets a taste of what her character or story gonna be like.

That both of them came from Kanto. One may underline this part as pointless or doesn’t mean anything but why would animators make one of our new protagonists from the same region as our previous protag?
She has a special bond with Pokemon which a few has, Just like Ash. Ash is known by many trainers that he has a bond with Pokemon that differ from others like Ash-Greninja and the Aura bond with Mega Lucario, etc.
She has a “frightening knack” for pokemon battling. In Pokemon Journey episode 132, Ash beat Leon and became the World Monarch or World Champion. Partially speaking Ash is the strongest trainer in the world. So she would have a strong knack for battling when her dad is literally the World Champion.
She won't reveal her family name to others. Hinting that her family is famous or well-known like Ash (World Champion) and Serena (Kalos Queen)
Just so you know, I’m not confirming anything but they are too many coincidences to prove otherwise. But who knows this could be Nemona's parallel (Hopefully not).
Moving on from Riko being Ash’s Child to the emerald? necklace is shown in her character design. In the announcement teaser that Pokemon showed us. A shiny Rayquaza was flying in the sky showing off some sparking effect. Is this Mega evolution or terastallize or probably just because it’s shiny? Who knows? But there’s one certain thing. That the shiny Rayquaza plays a big role in Riko’s story since she has the emerald and the emerald has a clear connection toward Rayquaza being that Pokemon Emerald had Rayquaza as its’ box cover.
The Theme with Scarlet & Violet is about Family & Friends. How we connect with family and most importantly how we work with friends to complete a certain goal. At the Endgame, we got to see some parts of everyone's family life. Nemona’s family is rich and famous but a bit hands so she has a free, outgoing personality. Penny’s dad is doting and Penny hates it so she became rebellious, making sense since she’s Team Star leader. Arven’s parents (Mom/Dad depending on the version) are extremely hand-off to the point that Arven had to raise and cook for himself and even envies the box legendary pokemon because they took the attention that Arven so desires.
So I think Riko’s story will have tension between Riko and Older Ash or even Older Serena as well and I think the Shiny Rayquaza will play a part in that tension. I think that the Emerald necklace that Riko wears can summon the Shiny Rayquaza and use it without catching it though this Rayquaza is calm and tame toward her, it’s very aggressive and hostile toward other, which cause some destruction in the Kanto region. Where Ash had to put it down to protect the city. So Riko did come to the Paldea to study and hone her skill to be able tame Rayquaza better and have it not go berserk like before but another reason was that she ran away from her home region out of guilt and fear.
This is cool but I still don't know that this theory might be true or not but I am excited to give riko a chance man she just give me some Awesome pokehype! Plus if this theory is true than Ash might have a time skip or something right and plus I love the art style it's so xyz and journey like in a mix oh man I can't wait for the new series and I already know that Ash might become a master after the final chapter
The thunderstone was thrown out when Pikachu lost to a Raichu in the DP Saga. Team Rocket caught it and sold it off.

Dawn's hair color could of been the product of legends as well for which yes her hair in that game is slate blue as well. When it comes to riko being ash's daughter it actually does more than just for ash. We have excuses to see the world age as well with the past characters moving on and the existing regions changing. Riko could end up going on a journey to future kanto, jhoto, and so on which would not be bad and would allow them to make new games later based on changes to those regions where there could be new gyms leaders and various updates to them without feeling that they are going backwards with say Heartgold 2 or something like that. Don't forget that we could end up seeing bonnie and max who was too young to be trainers in the og anime they was from but with this being a time skip forward bonnie could end up being a replacement gym leader for her brother due to him getting more into working or max could be a teacher or gym leader taking over for his dad. It is hard to tell but the possibilities are kinda limitless more than it was for ash.

I'm pretty sure that this could be tied into the time skip theroy somehow, but if they did do a time skip, I'd want it to be relavant to the generations in which have passed since the beginning of the anime. Putting this into perspective, since we are in Gen 9 Ash would be 18 years old as he started gen 1 at the age of 10. However, to justify the Riko therory we could say that Ash either has attended or now works as a teacher in either Uva or Naranja Academy, which while living in the region he settled a family in the town just south of Mesagoza in Los Platos. This would tie well with how Riko gets their starter, of course being one of the regional starters from Director Clavell like you do in the game.
And I bet 1 Mil PokeDollars on this next bit as I'm quite certain that the academy is going to play a part in some way and Clavell is bound to make a handful of cameos. Heck, maybe they'll turn this generation of the anime into one of those High School animes minus all the murders, super power, high school drama, etc. If they took that approach it would be interesting to see where it would go from there.

One thing I’d like to point out is that Riko has the same eyelashes as Serena’s mom.
Should be a no brainer, but at this point you never know what they think ... Though if she isn't related to Ash (and Serena ^^), they'll have to REALLY put in the work to sell her as a replacement for him... and they basically already failed once with Gou, so not a encouraging track record.
Not to say she doesn't need to be a good character in any case; but despite me saying under the last Video that replacing Ash was the only right choice, this is actually the best opportunity for them to develop him as well, and they'd be dumb not to use the emotional investment he still carries to give the new character a head start.
And as bad as the writing got, the series was always pretty solid on the design-front, so they have to know the associations they evoke with this.. Still worried about the blue hair though ...
