Lille is our biggest game of the season. If we get out of Northern France with a positive result this then we'll win the tournament. A lot easier said than done.
My daughter is an Arsenal fan 🙄🤔 she lives in Alaska, we were both watching the match on TV. I said to her at half-time that the team that scores first will win. So pleased i was right.

A brilliant game with so many positives. There's already talk from certain pundits that we'll probably do a Newcastle next season if we get into the Champions League. Well, about that... We've been playing in Europe this season and have improved our league position over last year (and that's with a depleted squad). I see us being stronger next year and we'll only need a couple of fresh faces to do that.

I still think the home win against city pips this as our best performance. It was 90 minute masterclass by unai and shut city out all game. 😍

Up. There are so many who could be deemed the Man-Of-The-Match, Zaniolo, McGinn, Carlos, and Teiliman. But, I want to make some heat. In Teilman we have found the third midfielder one in the mould of Luiz. (2) The marvel of Unai to use Moreno in the left midfield and as I watched his movement, he had it down to a tee. (3) Leon Bailey's penchant for scoring on the big teams on big occasions. (4) Unai's master strategy at the 60th minute to introduce him to the dread of opponents but this predictable dread is known in all England as from the 50th minute the commentators began the countdown of his introduction at the precise time. This game shows me that (our) Emery's players are becoming multi-faceted UP! The Mighty Villa!
yes... Bailey from his Bundesliga days was known as a big game player, big team slayer... and will only get better.

With six first team players out I feared the worst, but what a performance. Special mention for Rogers and Zaniollo who both came in and did a superb job. Unai has got to be up there with Sir Ron Saunders. How he has managed to keep Villa in fourth place given all the injuries we've had is remarkable. UTV.
woke up this morning hoping this video had landed and I was not disappointed - you are right about brave, for Bailey's goal, UTV podcast showed a still of McGinn bravely passing through two arsenal players to find Moreno, he was the last man and all 20 outfield players were there in the still - if he'd messed that up, there could've been an Arsenal breakaway with our central defenders all still up for the corner - wow!

I’m a Villa supporter now living in Australia and have followed them since I was 7 living in Brum. I’m now 72 and still getting up in the middle of the night to watch the lads. I’ve been back to the UK 8 times in the last 20 odd years and always go to Villa Park. Watching them play champions league would be brilliant.

We’ve got super Unai Emery, what a result, 4th is in our hands and if we progress on Thursday I think we are favourites to lift the conference cup, what a season that will be, Unai’s first full season, incredible.

I am afraid I am still one of those. Going into the Arsenal game I hoped we wouldn't lose by too much BUT I also did have the belief we could upset them!
As always, Love the show Pete, what a win and what a game its definitely the best performance ive seen from us in many the year. I think it will galvanise us for the rest of the season and it could actually be the reason for us to qualify for the champions league and win the conference league. Up the mightily Villa..😁💪💪
Agree with your assessment that its the top performance in the Unai era. I didnt expect this either. As always insightful, lovely vocabulary and critically (take note Sky/Talk Sport) talking about what happened as opposed to speculation and excuses. Who knows, win 5 back to back we might get 3rd...
We play both Bournemouth and Chelsea at home before Spuds kick another ball. We could be 9 points ahead of them them by then. With their run in, there's no way they can catch us.
I always look out for your post after a match. It’s top quality and I love your passion. I have only one small critique for this one though. Zaniolo probably had his best game ever for Villa. I know you’re not his biggest fan however, I think he deserved a mention at least. UTMV!

Hi Pete ! Great episode!! But you didn't say much about how decisive Emi Martinez was in this game ! 4 crucial saves !!
Think also Rogers and Zaniola given us the flexibility to change our tactics at times which we needed to with the Injuries and suspensions we've had
And crucially something we have lacked a lot which Is real physical prsence further up the pitch and the ability to retain and scrap for poossession with your back to goal not just with pretty passing from the back Allowing us to get forward in numbers like in Sunday as the ball would stick for us higher up the pitch instead of comimg straight back at Us
And an out ball if we go long
This is vital because lossng Kamara has also had a big effect on our ball retention and short game. playing out from the back, him Pau and DougIe were like am inverted triange that made us very press through the centre and allowed us to draw them on and then get McGinn,amd Dougie between the lines
And Kamara also would drop back into a back 3 to allow the full backs to get forward
Another great show but I will eternally be annoyed by incorrect squad numbers on the team sheet! Digne is 12

The trossard one is 50/50 for me. Brilliant save, world class but if he sticks it other corner emi has no chance. That being said it was fizzed in so. Emi can only save the shots they take if he hadn't saved it we'd be gutted up it wouldn't be terrible Abit like the first city goal last week. Super quick nothing could be done about it
