I feel like magnetizing the screw was the right move. slowly moving the piece upside down so the ball slides down and hangs down off the screw then slowly screwing it in.

The solution is actually much easier than this.
You’re on the right track when you magnetised screw. If you wound the screw back until it was flush with the hole and then magnetised it you can jump the ball onto the pedestal very easily as it is magnetised. You know the rest 😃

Hello Chris , you solved the puzzle not in the intended way . There is a better and elegant way to solve it you have to screw the bolt a little and put the magnet on the wood connect with the bolt to make it magnet too . After that you have to put the puzzle upside down and the ball will be attract . You will just have to screw the bolt .

Just a thought, unless you've already thought of it....you should do a series where you make videos with the actual puzzle makers, have them talk about the specific puzzles you've done in the past (that they made), give some insight and/or stories about the process of making it, and then watch the video of that puzzle with them and they can comment about the attempt as you try solving it.

Don’t think that was the intended way to get the ball between the screw and Houdini. If you look the hole for the screw to thread into was sloped and so I think you were supposed to back the screw down flush with the sloping and magnatize the screw like you did again

First time actually yelling at the screen :D
At 9:22, after you found out the screw can be magnetized by the base, turning it upside down while the ball is next to it could cause the ball to dangle below the screw between it and Hudini. It depends on the strength of the magnet though, so I am not sure yet.

@@InvadersDie I can understand what Ramsey is trying to say though. I have a feeling he's had comments of people being like "I can't believe it took you so long to solve it i solved it before you did" and such. Like he said with the whole perspective thing, he is looking at very specific spots while we can be looking at something else. His eyes were probably focused on the ball, and with his assumptions of trying to catch the ball earlier his mind was probably still focused on that.

If you level the tip of the screw to the opening of the metal inside, put the magnet on the head of the screw, magnetize the bearing ball and then slowly turn the puzzle upside down. The ball should slide to the center of the metal opening by itself. Sorry if my English is bad.
Edit: I didn't read the comments b4 posting mine. 3 seconds later and I found that someone else posted the same.

I believe that you were suppose to remove the sleeve from the screw then screw it back in but not all the way, return it to the base which magnetizes the screw. Then the ball should be attracted to the center where you can then screw in the rest using the base to remove Houdini.

If u look at houdini's head, there's an indent for the ball to land on. I guess it means u have to do the following:
    1. Magnetize the screw and make the ball stick to it
    2. While holding the magnet on the screw, slowly turn the whole cell upside down with houdini upright, making sure the ball stays on the screw
    3. If ball is on the side of the screw, slowly back out the screw such that the ball moves to the tip of the screw
    4. Ball either lands on the indent on houdini's head or remains stuck on the tip of the screw
    5. Slowly turn the screw in while still holding the magnet to the screw and the ball will be between the screw and houdini.

Roll the ball up against it and slowly tip it upside down and gravity will cause the ball to be on top of the metal piece in the center and then you can take the magnetize screw and screw it down to push on Houdini's head there and push him out
