  • Ravi Dolwani of CSF Radiators came by our shop to talk about CSF's oil cooler line. Oil coolers might not seem that exciting but wait to you see all the cool stuff (pun intended) CSF has incorporated into their products!

never thought i'd see aero and wind tunnels used for testing coolers. 👍

2024: Mike, is your shop still using CSF coolers? If not, could you recommend alternatives? Thanks!

      Yes, Koyo or Setrab

Curious if there's any difference in oil pressure between the dual and single pass coolers? The dual would see a relatively squared off 180 as it goes from one pass to the other where single pass seems like it'd have a higher flowrate?

You are probably right but I never have seen this cause a problem. Seen plenty of cases when the oil getting too hot and causing a problem.

You'd be surprised how many FWD SR20 powered cars we've had and currently have ;)

Of all people I'd say you Mike kojima are the guy is trust to get that chassis competitive or know from the beginning of its worth tweaking . @motion any reason in particular you chose that chassis and what exactly the purpose is for the car. I would love to know more about it. Suspension?

Cool stuff (no pun intended). But about the "black body radiation" thought that was a myth...?! Or is it when the car is stopped/no airflow situation. THANKS

Shiny metal surfaces have low emissivities both in the visible wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum and in the far infrared (Heat). Painting the surface black fixes that.

what Mike left out is that the black paint is an insulator and defeats the thermal conductivity of the radiator.... which is its sole job.
