Thanks for spotlighting lone star. I’m a huge sayles fan and would argue he’s the best US writer/director of the last 40 years. As he always said lone star was only relatively‘successful’ because it is set in Texas and has a gun in it haha. His commentaries are brilliant. Passion fish needs a bluray too. You want his best films to last for 6 hours as you want to spend more time with his characters. I agree it’s one of the best edited films of all time. Right up there with last year in marienbad. I got emotional when matewan got a criterion so you can imagine what I was like when lone star got announced. Sorry for the rambling sir. Keep up the great work. Needless to say blood simple is wonderful too😂.
Totally understand - Sayles is truly great and a personal hero of mine & I too was pretty darned excited when this got announced- more Sayles on Blu is essential
Nice review of two modern classics. We definitely need more John Sayles in high definition. I am really hoping to see Limbo in the near future.
