  • We delve into the murky waters of T levels with a lecturer currently delivering them alongside his stand out colleagues. Andrew Duffen joins myself and Richard to discuss everything he has learned and developed through experience.
Along with things that maybe need some tweaking. I hope very much the industry of things is listening to the likes of Andrew to develop and ensure these courses are a success for learners and wider industry.
As mentioned in the podcast if you are an employer please do reach out to your local training providers and HELP.

Great pod cast that generates loads of questions. I’ll rewatch it and ask some later.
I’m wondering about if there has been any mapping exercises from 2365/5357 to the T-level?
How can it be electrical and cut 2 years off an apprenticeship if there is limited science and the work experience doesn’t have to be electrical - just construction?
If there is no health and safety j it how can that be APL across to an apprenticeship? I did rhe EAL level 2 and city and guilds are refusing to accept it on my apprenticeship.
How are the working hours allocated - is it a 35 day block in the summer holidays or days here and there? Is it the same employer?
How can there be no requirement for grade C maths and English if it’s claimed to be an A level standard based around engineering.
Scary that they’ve decided they need to develop a ‘step up to T levels’. Is that a damning indictment of FE or the standard of learners at this age and stage.
Nice to hear Walsall are adding stuff and making it better, but there will be loads of providers who won’t.
Worrying that everyone seems to have some reservations about the introduction.
Seems they weee forced out into the education space, with no allowance for current successful pathways to be continued.

All fantastic questions and I hope the industry of things have some answers. Because it looks like some are not been answered...
