I thought Easy dutch has died. Good job

Me too
me too, glad that they are doing a series now!
For me, Dutch is like a mix between English and German. It's such a nice language!
No! German is much more different
This is a very cliché opinion. Dutch is way different from English too. It may seem that they're similar, but actually, we're talking just about a few common words and a few common roots, but nothing remarquable. French and Dutch have some similarities too for exemple. So Dutch does not only have a relationship with German and English. In conclusion, when it comes to grammar, pronunciation, and more advanced/specific vocabulary, oh boy. Dutch is a whole different world.
@@estefaniatorres9003 Dutch verb conjugation is the closest to English I’ve come across in a foreign language. Dutch isn’t that close to English, but it’s closer than anything else.
@@Maff2013 yeah, it's a cliché opinion based on the fact that both languages, Dutch and German, are Germanic languages. Which doesn't mean that they are the same, only that they look alike
@@estefaniatorres9003 No! German is totally different! It sounds aggressive and harsh and it's got a totally different pronunciation
As an Italian I had some culture shocks watching this video 😅 Dutch people are so strange: very serious and straightforward
Haha, as a dutch person I understand your comment. There's some truth in it. But when I watch this video I also notice that the interview asks closed questions that you can only answer with yes or no. Or he asks the same things twice.
As a mexican, I’m impressed about how straightforward and direct are Dutch people when communicating, and also that they find spanish language interesting. Nice video!
Nice to hear. I am Dutch but lived in Spain for 2 years, the language was extremely hard for me to learn. This while I speak a number of northern european languages.
I am Dutch and I am currently learning Spanish. I prefer latin over castellano for some reason
@@MS-ut8fd Dutch poeple can come across a bit blunt at first but most are very easy to engage with. I'm moroccan myself and i grew up between the two cultures. The Dutch value directness cause the value the no non sense and honesty. I can get around with it. But when you are new it can be something you aren't used to.
i’m also mexican, learning dutch (hard, i must say), but yes, i like that about them too, they seem like nice people
I've been trying to learn dutch for some time now. For me as a greek guy Dutch sound kinda cute not gonna lie.. Thank you Easy Dutch! Keep going!

Dutch is one of my favourite languages)) together with Georgian, Ukranian, Polish, German, Russian and my mother language - Yakutian. I love how all these foreign languages sound. They are like kind of meditation for me! And of course I love English!
Is Yakutian and Russian mutually intelligible?
@@amun1040 I imagine no. It's in a completely different language family

English & Dutch are the prettiest languages ever in every way, but all Germanic languages are also pretty tho, and some of the Latin languages are also pretty! I never thought I would ever say this, but sometimes I even feel like Dutch sounds even better than English, especially the way some (that have a soft G) pronounce words like pijn and mijn and zegt and brand and the words with E / EE in them etc - I could listen to those sounds on repeat... Even though English is poetically perfect and with mostly pretty words and so refined (well, Dutch is too, actually) but, it’s like Dutch has one extra ingredient in the pronunciation that makes Dutch sound very, I don’t know, I can’t even find the word... And, it’s like the perfect balance between French accent (if French didn’t sound nasally) and American accent - I should have started learning Dutch a long time ago... I guess a word that would describe Dutch is hot, and I never thought I would find languages that sound hot, until I heard songs in Dutch... I wonder if most people ever realise how pretty and hot Dutch sounds / is... Anyways, the big term love only reflects me the only lovable being, and the word like must be used instead - only my protectors & I can use the word love and other love related terms!
And, another language that has a similar effect on me as Dutch is, OId Norse, which also sounds very hot, like, in the songs Troll Kalla Mik and Gleipnir by Skald... A voice can also influence the sound of a language, so it also depends on one’s voice - and also on accents / pronunciation... And, one tends to focus more on the voice than the language itself, but if one hears something in Dutch pronounced by someone with a soft / good-sounding voice and with a pretty accent, like, in the songs Vuurwerk and Boos Op De Wereld and Beter Zo, then he will like Dutch...
I have noticed that when these videos are made, many Europeans answer other European languages.
because those are the languages they are mostly exposed to.
I really like Portuguese, Dutch from The Netherlands and Belgium, English, Lingala and Spanish.

4. Dutch - is spoken and written simply fun and funky and not so harsh like other germanic languages

Omg. Just what I needed. Easy Dutch from The Netherlands.
In Dutch you can just drop the 'voor mij'! It sounds very unnatural to say 'interessant voor mij'... Maybe it's even grammatically wrong... But I'm not a huge grammar nerd... So yeah.. I just learn from listening to the language and try to make up what they're sayin...

Wow, I’m amazed by how much Dutch is similar to german! I even understood some words!
It is even closer to Plattdeutsch
@@joanssen2602 I had a German girlfriend. When I was over at her parents near Hamburg I could hardly communicate with them since my German skills are very limited and their English was nonexistent.
But her grandparents spoke platt, I could understand that with ease and they could understand my Dutch. They even cooked typical Dutch meals ;D
Ps. I also noticed that even the local dialect in Berlin has quite a lot of similarities with Dutch.
@@rutgerb Because Low German and Dutch didn't get influenced by the so-called consonant shifts, that highly affected Upper German (which is the origin of the modern Standard German of Germany). So you will find *many* words that are very clearly related to each other. You find them between Standard German and Dutch as well, of course - especially if you know the changes that happened in the phonetics during the development of both languages.
It sounds super harsh

Dutch diphthong sounds (OE / UI / IJ / EU) are wonderful!
The 'oe' sound is a digraph, but a monophtong. ([u] in IPA)! Other than that I wholeheartedly agree!
(P.S. 'eu' can be either a monophtong or a diphtong depending on phonological environment / accent, but let's leave that for what it is haha)

It seems the Romance languages have it, at least the ones most people are familiar with. Romanian is always forgotten.
Mijn favoriete vreemde taal is Frans.

I remember when I was close to Central Station for the very first time and I saw the word "straat". Good memories. Please, just carry on! You're sick, mate!

Thank you for this it is so helpful! I know almost all of the words being said but I still have to read the captions because my brain can't translate fast enough to keep up, hopefully I can improve that soon.
Oh Dutch is crazy! I think I want to learn it. But it seems so hard. My favorite languages are French, Italian, Portuguese (my own) and Spanish. English is a must. German and Russian I like 👍as well. Greetings from Brasil 🇧🇷

I think you could take some pointers from Easy German on how to edit make the clips so they don't come out sounding so awkward. Like if you organize the video into segments related by topic, you can cut between different people answering the same question, which avoids the awkward pauses between the questions and answers, and avoids hearing the same question being asked numerous times. And regardless of the order of the clips, you should cut out the responses where the respondent didn't really have anything to say.
That said it's nice to see a start of an Easy Dutch series. Looking forward to see how the series grows in the future!
Yes agree,, I hope they see your comment,, btw I think this is the most constructive advice in the comment section here ,,

Hard question to answer. For speaking and writing, my fav language would be Dutch because it is my native language. My fav content is in English, so that should matter too. But when it comes to making sense, being relatively easy to learn, and having the most beautiful egalitarian idea behind it, it has to be Esperanto.
