    I like this channel, found it last week. I've been looking for a channel to relearn my Dutch for a couple of years now and find this format the most useful. I left the Netherlands as a teenager and have been in Australia for a long time now, in my 70s. I haven't spoken Dutch with anyone in many years but don't want to loose it. The main issue I have is that in many instances an English word is used now and I never know when this is so. I shall continue to listen to your channel as it's lots of fun, turns out I still understand Dutch perfectly well, not so comfortable writing it. Thank you, keep up the good work.

      How could one forget the native language, though - I cannot imagine how that would be possible, unless he was younger than 10 when he left the country, and hasn’t heard the words many times / didn’t know the native language too well / hasn’t heard the words enough times for them to become part of the permanent memory... If one hears each word over 50 to 100 times, the words should become a part of one’s permanent memory - so, even if one doesn’t use the language for many years, one should still remember the words... I learned Spanish in childhood and I didn’t use it in a decade, yet I haven’t forgotten it - Spanish isn’t my native language tho, even though I am native speaker level in Spanish, and since I haven’t forgotten Spanish, I cannot imagine ever forgetting English if I would not use it for many years...

      However, the word nom cannot be in someone’s name yt name, because it is related to food! All other big terms also only reflect me THE only Queen / Lady / Princess / Leader / God(dess) / Star etc, and I am the only being reflecting precious things like gold / silver / jewelry / luxury items / gemstones etc that are only meant for me! And the special pronoun U is only meant for me THE only superior / important / special being, not for oude hum’ns - all wom’n / hum’ns are the exact opposite of queen / u / princess / other big terms or special names etc, just an avrg citizen made to obey the avrg citizen’s laws and rules (as every other hum’n) and are the exact opposite of purity / superiority / radiance and other special unique qualities that such terms imply that only I THE actual Queen possess, and promoting impztz / big term misuse is beyond wng and is to be bnd, and also, wom’n / hum’ns do no belong on those coins / money / precious items / statues / paintings etc, which are only meant for me!

    Thanks for these Easy Dutch videos! I've been learning Dutch vocabulary and simple sentences for a month in Memrise and Quizlet. I've tried listening closely to various speakers in Dutch videos and to me Jeroen van Heesewijk's word-initial 'g' sound is closer to English than many other Dutch speakers. Like all beginners I'm struggling with the 'g' and 'sch' sounds. What region of Nederland pronounces 'g' closest to English?

    • @EasyDutch
      @EasyDutch  Před 4 měsíci +1

      There isn't really a region which pronounces the g like in English... The sound [g] doesn't exist in the basic phonology of Dutch. :)

    Geniet van de zon en wees veganistisch, geen dierlijke eieren, dierlijke melk, dierlijke kaas, dierlijke boter en insectenhoning. Geef elk dier en insect 1 voor 1 terug aan de oorspronkelijke eigenaar, elke hap vlees, elke druppel bloed, elke druppel soep, elk bot, elk beenmerg en elke huid. Het spijt me. Bedankt.
