Is it just me or is the atmosphere in these old games way more intense than modern games.
I think they tried to be more realistic. Now it's all over the top stuff that's not believable. The propaganda was less intense, too.
New games are retarded
When you don't have the possibility to make the action aspect of the game flashy, you rely on atmosphere. That's why nowadays I enjoy Indie games a lot more!
Some mission are kinda scary, and the collision can penetrare things and some time not, thats why im kinda nervouse of old games
its because nowadays developers are more interrested in making the game look intense rather than making it intense. Back then, you were limited in how you wanted the game to look, instead you had to make it feel. Its the same with silent films. Back then you simply could not include sound and dialogue, which is why many old silent movies had some extremely well made shots, and incredible cinematography. Obviously movies with sound still incoorporate these mechanisms that silent movies created, but obviously there will be some movies where the bigger priority relies on the sound rather than the shot.
Such nostalgia. My first FPS when I was a child.

Really interesting as a German to hear the texts of the German soldiers. The conversations really make sense. From 1:25: "That's ridiculous" - "But it's true, they say that Goll (probably a name) commissioned him to look for a bunker" - "Why is the resistance doing something like that?" - "They're afraid that we'll take all the pretty girls to the Fatherland to refine the master race" - "Crazy... hard to believe" - "Oh, that's nothing, the Norwegians are all crazy".
Also for me my first FPS. Memories
Always curious, how do you feel when you kill your people in game?
What do the soldiers say from 0:08?
@@Planefan1000 " How do you like Norway?"- "It's okay here" - " You don't hate it here?" - " No, I can't say that" - "Stop that, we all hate it here" - "Whatever you say"

What an awesome mission. I remember to be so scared that I showed my "Soldbuch" to every ordinary Soldier, even if they weren't asking for it, lol 🤣
My God, you just discovered my childhood strategy! I was really afraid doing this mission and did the same thing you did…

this game's MP40 firing sound and the M1 Garand is still stuck to my head to this day. God only knows how many times I played this game and this mission.
Loved the early MOH games, never understood why they didn't do an remake on them, they do so many other games from this era
If they remake this MoH: AA, it would be atrocious
Yeah, it should be remade. I still remember i had much fun when playing multiply player game mode and thought the greande at the start.
Lol they did do a remake. It’s called Call of Duty
@@SOLOcan they did a poor job
@@UnknownError4o4 Infnity Ward was made up of people from the Medal of Honor Allied Assault development team who were tired of how EA were treating them, so they made their own company to beat EA at their own game. Call of Duty 1 and 2 were great. They went in a different direction as time went on, but it's hard to argue with their success.
The goldeneye of all ww2 shooters. This game has really stood the test of time.
minus the horrid flinch when shot
I played the hell out of this game's multiplayer. What a blast it was. Looking back it isn't only nostalgia, from the gun sounds to animations, it was a masterpiece from the 2000's.
Wow, you`ve been so lucky to get to play the multiplayer
It's amazing that the uboat interior really is accurate.
Ahh the memories. MoHAA, CoD1 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein would always have special place in our hearts.
This was one of my favorite missions.. I loved seeing that type VII U-boat in the dock ... and the way the physics worked on the barrels... they would leak down to the bullet hole then stop. And then continue to leak if shot lower down .. loved that ..
Im glad Im not the only one who appreciated the barrels
Take the second to appreciate how realistic that silenced weapon is. The only other game I know of that shows a TRUE silenced weapon is Sniper Elite 2 and that's ONLY because the welrod is mechanically designed on purpose to be a single shot. That gun he's using has the slide purposely locked when fired.
That, and the likely facts sub sonic rounds aren't high pressure enough to cycle the action. It's good attention to detail
@@admiralsnackbarkekwalice6167 Look up Forgotten Weapons airforce silenced barreta. No sub rounds
@@admiralsnackbarkekwalice6167 This was modified. The pistol they used here was the High Standard HDM, which featured an integral suppressor but no slide lock.
Except that it cycles and kicks the casing out anyway. They got close, though.

This brings so much nostalgia... good old games. I could repeat this mission for days it was so amazing for the days when games was on different level.
Still one of the best immersive ww2 games out there. She might be old, but she was certainly the best looking game out there... which also told the story of those brave men back then. First time on the beaches of Normandy, gave me the chills.
It’s amazing to see the details and accuracy out into games like this and the first CoD (2003 on PC) and compare them to the disasters that were CoD Vanguard and BFV. It blows my mind that WW2 has been done so dirty by AAA developers in the last decade. Thank god for games like Hell Let Loose and CtA:Gates of Hell Ostfront.
HLL has a lot of historical details wrong sacrificed for game play though. Tiger tanks on Utah beach, STG44’s at Stalingrad, cosmetic uniform changes that don’t make sense for the battles shown in the game, lack of weapons properly set to resemble their historical counterparts. But the game is still being worked on so it’s not a finished product.
@@bcarreon6409 I couldn’t agree more. Those are some of the same gripes I have about it. Gewehr 43’s, STG-44’s and ankle boots should NOT be available at Stalingrad. They could easily fix it with some fixes like adding the Gewehr 41 and some extra smgs like the Erma EMP, MP-34 etc to make up for the balance in losing the stg 44 in maps Normandy and prior. The vehicles get me too. Having a Tiger I early production rolling around normandy in Kursk camo, or a Panzer IV G in dark grey really bugged me. They should really add a Tiger I mid, panzer IV H for maps in 44-45. Also a Panther D for Kursk and A late for Normandy. It sounds like you and I are cut from the same cloth. These are changes they could absolutely make and would make a big difference immersion wise.
While I agree Vanguard went way overboard, I can see why developers wanted to include more different stuff even if it doesn't fit the time line or certain guns are prototypes etc.
There's a reason why WW2 shooters got amazingly stale in the mid 2000s and part of it was the same old MP40, Garand etc arsenal we've seen, shot and got shot from time and time again
Man, I miss this era of gaming. Just pure, no loot boxes or skins or battle passes to buy
the guys playing cards at 0:24 is such an awesome detail, the base feels more like a place where soldiers live 24/7 rather than just a random building filled with guards
also, at 3:28 mark in u boat commanders office hes got a model u boat which is just adorable :3
would love if they remastered this
Knowing todays age AAA, they probably fuck it up bad. Better not remaster it, let modders do it.
This game was very well made back in the day. With natural german speakers and a lot of small details realistic. I love it.
I struggled so hard at 6 years old on this level. Thank you.
Aah, this takes me back. One of those funny moments when the officers will instantly bust you the moment you show your papers, as if they REALLY know each other! 😂
Since the enemies speaks in German, you'll want to turn the subtitles on to understand what they're actually saying. Unless you're quite fluent.....
Honestly, if you know a decent amount of Deutsch, you can understand them quite well! Most of their greetings and responses are simple.

this was my first FPS pc game. multi player was off the charts. some of the modded servers were so nuts. one in texas had limited gravity and unlimited grenades on the malta map. it was like spawning in to a popcorn making machine on high power.
This brings back so many memories this is the game that sparked my love and interest of WW2
The best bit about this game was the sound. Playing with headphones on and no distractions, its soo immersive and it really adds to the atmosphere. Plus they're all speaking in german which is kinda obvious but sometimes is easily overlooked. Not just the odd phrase here and there, like theyre having proper conversations. Very forward thinking for the time.

Love how the german used his body to cover the grenade in 7:05 protecting no one.
This game was really THE game at that time, it was also the first shooter I could afford buying back arround 2003
I remember telling my parents over and over how inmersive it was when the first mission started inside the truck and the officer turned off the lights inside so the germans could not see your squad infiltrating their base... such good times :)
5:18 at the end of the room you could find the crew manifest. A secret document, which wasn‘t actually part of the mission, but it would earn you a medal. Still remember this detail after 20 years.
Such good memories.... Games just don't hit the same anymore... After all these years I still remember this.
Incredible story telling and gameplay, what a phenomenal game, shame on newer games of this age! They should take down note from such golden masterpieces!

that sound of the sniper is awsome!! sounds badass 😄
That was a trip down memory lane. This was one of my favourite missions. Operation Torch and D-Day were next. Awesome game. Miss it.

MoH, RTCW and Max Payne - my whole childhood !
Allied assault was so far ahead of it's time, the multiplayer was absolutely banging with all the environment that you could destroy. A true classic.
Wow, the nostalgia playing this mission game. Love MOH!
I remember this... damn i miss the 2000's. So many great games...
I remember online matches between clans, what a time that was 🥺
And the custom maps and modes. Played thousands of hrs between this and CoD2
Omg the nostalgia is REAL!!!!
The graphics may not be what we're used to today, but the gameplay is just fabulous. Well thought out maps, enough detail to make the scenes believable, just hard enough to challenge the average player, easy enough that you don't get bummed out and lose interest.
I was surprised how beautiful it still looks
My first PC game then i was a child. This were sweet memories.
This was my first PC game which got me hooked on MoH franchise, followed by CoD and other WW2 related games. Played this game so many times, enjoyed it quite a bit. If memory serves me right, in PC, there should be an hidden Easter egg map imbedded in the code, tweaking the codes should transport you to that hidden map to play in, just don’t get bit by the dogs or it’s an instant death.
The soundtrack for this game was incredible

I liked this mission because usually when you have a stealth mission your cover gets blown immediately and you can't do anything about it. Like in Medal of Honor Frontline unless you do the glitch at the hotel mission. I like actually being stealthy and going behind enemy lines like this
This game has an extraordinary atmosphere, excellent music and very good mechanics for its time.
Nice playthrough! In case you didn't know, you missed some fun at 00:24.
1) Walk over to the window and look down at the two Germans talking. You may see some cool gymnastics!
