  • Kendrick Lamar is arguably one of the most talented lyricists in hip-hop. He’s shown his versatility time and time again, notably on projects like 2017’s 'DAMN.' The album gave fans a number of notable tracks, especially songs like “FEAR.,” where Kendrick explores three different periods of his life at ages 7, 17, and 27.

      @@AbsurdTurk Sorry to respond to you again, but I would say it's worth noting that:
      He uses different voices for expressing different character viewpoints.
      He has rapped much more profound lyrics;
      The poetry doesn't have to be all complex all the time. I'm not making an excuse for crappy lyrics- I don't like YAH and LOYALTY very much- but a rapper like Kendrick using blunt language is more than likely a device for expressing emotion, as later in the song the lyrics get more "serious", I guess. I don't know.

    This is actually the best song on the album lyrically. The amount of subtle meanings actually needed a professor to break it down. We should be learning about rap in english class instead of fucking Shakespeare and his pointless romanticism. Whoever sets up the curriculum should add in things that will be relevant to people in modern times.
