@@jow265 As a Nicaraguan I can definitely tell you there are many complex social dynamics.
For example, Mexicans look down on Central Americans bc they think we speak funny and "get papers more easily".
In fact there is a lot of hypocrisy because Mexicans deport just as many if not more Central Americans than the US, but don't lift a finger to stop immigration of their own people.
Native Spanish speakers also tend to make fun of American latinos because of the way they speak Spanish.
Cubans and Venezuelans blame socialism and the soviet union/China for their problems (let's face it though, their countries were shitholes beforehand too).
While Hondurans and Guatemalans blame US capitalism and the CIA.
It is not hard to imagine which one is favored in the US, the one that blames the Russians or the ones that blame the Americans.
Latino is also only an ethnicity, not a race. So there are a lot of racial tensions as well, I mean there are still Mexican shows of the last couple of years that did blackface and made fun of people for their native or black heritage.

Most Republican Cubans make through legal means, the Cubans who came illegally by rafts are what we call "refs", the older Cubans don't like them actually and they don't really care about politics or vote at all. I love Cubans having grown up in Fort Lauderdale... They’re also more patriotic and loving of their country than many born here!
