Derek is pretty much right about therapy. They're not really there to give advice, they're more there to help you realise the answers on your own.
We pretty much know the truth etc deep down, sometimes we just need that extra push to realise it.

my 2am sleep deprived patient self receiving advice from my two lovely 2am sleep deprived therapists
my cousin was in the exact same situation as that 16 year old boy, except now hes 18 and still together with her (shes now 22) its so heartbreaking because it stemmed from deeply rooted trauma combined with just wanting to feel love and affection at such a vulnerable age; both of which were obviously exploited. its genuinely so sad to see especially because society just does not understand the gravity of the situation purely because its a boy whos in position of the victim. hope the guy in vid ends things soon, much love to him ❤️🩹
i hope this is okay for me to say, and if it's not, i'm sorry, but i've been watching you guys for a little while now and couldn't help but notice how much derek's grown in such a short time. i recently watched the episode about the dating scene that came out a few weeks after your (feels weird to write like i'm talking to you directly but i guess that's the choice i'm making here) breakup and the change in your attitudes about attachment, vulnerability, and emotions is incredible. that's hard work, man. i'm not sure if it feels like change because you're living it, but from an outsider's perspective, it really does seem like you're doing some serious reflection and growing so that you can be better in the future. pretty cool, derek.
