you just don't understand greatness when you see it. Tim hill has one of the wackiest deliveries in all of baseball and that can lead to some quick outs. Did you see what his FIP was on the white sox? 3.46! While not the best, that is more than enough for a decent middle reliever. His ERA on the yanks is 2.5, showing that he might be going back to his old ways, such as when he had a 3.6 era on the padres two years in a row. In fact, he pitched a scoreless inning in the 2022 NLDS against the dodgers, showing that he can be clutch as well! I personally think that it is very rude of you to assume that just because he had a 6 or so era before getting traded that he is a bad pitcher. Everyone has bad years, and it's all about how you bounce back from those bad years that defines who a player is. Think about legends like Roberto Clemente and Robin Yount. They all had not too great starts to their career but they all learned valuable life lessons from those experiences and turned into hall of fame players. The truth of the matter is that the Yankees bullpen needs all the help it can get, and taking a short term gamble on a pitcher like Tim Hill is not the worst move of all time. I have been a Yankees fan for all 18 years of my life, and I know that we need all we can get to win that 28th ring.
