- How Tractors are Built! We were lucky to get a tour of the AGCO plant in Jackson, MN. Watching the tractors in the process of being built was incredible. I hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed the tour!

I am a 5th generation family farmer from West-Central Minnesota. The recent interest in food, combined with a large amount of 'misinformation' has driven me to start this channel. I hope to be someone people can relate to and trust when they question how their food is grown and raised. I also hope to become a 'smarter' farmer through my experiences with this channel. I strongly believe we must have an open mind and a willingness to learn about others, or we cannot move forward as one. My goal is to build the connection between farmers and consumers by facilitating a collaborative conversation amongst everyone. I do this by sharing my day-to-day farming experiences, my opinions on certain topics, and occasionally visiting other farms and businesses to help better understand other farming and business practices. There is no limit to where this channel may go, so please join me!!

782,000 people have now watched this video and seen how well this plant is run. It's really saying something they allowed you to video. Proud of their process and products. Very cool. American made.
I like how they have headsets so everyone can hear what he is saying. No yelling required and no one asking him to repeat something. These are smart people.
Never noticed before, but at 15:38, the center-back of the three engines you see on stands, is one of the SISU-designed AGCOPower 16.8 liter twin turbo V12's that go in the high horsepower articulated 900 series and 800 series track tractors. Super cool!
Zach attack I think that was one of the best learning videos I have ever seen. Blows the mind on the tech that goes into everything even before the building even takes place.
I think out of everything there the fact they dropped the cab down so that the worker doesn't have to climb to the top really really impressed me.
I start work at the AGCO Hesston, KS location on Monday, as a Technical Service Specialist - one of the guys you or the dealer or mechanic calls when the machine isn't chooching like it should. Can't wait to join the AGCO team!
I used to be a technical specialist in the sprayer line. Agco is a first class company.
Wow what a plant, thanks for the tour I felt like I was there with you, good to see onyx and your wife enjoying the tour as well, thanks for taking the time to make this video for the rest of us to enjoy
Matt L. We had a great time!
@@MillennialFarmer hey zach
Jay is a GREAT tour guide who knows the in and outs of that place! He knows so many details of how things are done throughout that entire facility!
We are very proud to sell the products coming out of this place!
Thank You for this video!
@J&L pro drifters & mechanics 2 it is awesome! He is so knowledgeable and great for the customers who do the Fresh Metal Experience!
That was great. It's amazing to see all the technology & labor that goes into making the machines we see all the time working in the fields. Thanks for taking us along.
Oooop
Lucky kid, getting the plant tour. I hope you encourage him to go into every plant presented to him.
From about his age, my dad got me into every kind of plant for tour, that we came across, be it gypsum, gold refinery, petroleum, silicon foundry clean room, sawmill, lumber mill, steel mill, plywood mill, auto assembly line, various mineral mines, gas-fired electricity plants, military bases, cotton gins, spinning mills, weaving mills, you name it, and those plant tours had a profound effect on my direction in life.
And, yes, my dad was a farmer, too, beans, rice, cotton, and he bought us cattle to tend to in our teen years, kept us in much trouble... angus, happy, dumb as bricks, love to break out and eat young, sprouting beans..
You were very blessed to have such a father. He was a wise man.

As a retired truck diver spent a career moving Ag. Parts for all brands of Ag equipment. This is amazing. Thank You for the tour ‼️ 20 + years every assembly plant in North America wow things have changed .
What an impressive operation. I'd be proud to work here and proud of every tractor that went out the door. Outstanding!
I’m moving to the Twin Cities in April, I just saw this and I told my wife we’re going to Jackson! She’s a traveling nurse right now and she is in Minnesota. She laughed and asked me if I wanted to be part another Ag-Crew once I get over there! LOL! Thank you, awesome video. Keep up the great work, bro!
That really is a very impressive line and use of SPC and the Demming philosophy - quality is monitored during the process and JIT production allows for different models built simultaneously 👍👍
One of the best videos so far! Thanks for taking the time to do it.
That is awesome! my Dad grew up in Jackson ,MN. My Grandma still lives 1.5 miles down the road from the AGCO plant. Ive never been inside, but been by MANY times.Makes me want to go take the tour. So again thank you for sharing this experience from a fellow Minnesotan.
last fall i spent three days at that plant teaching some safety classes . its a very impressive place
Amazing video. Not sure everyone realizes how unique it is for you to be able to tour the facility but ALSO video the tour - usually that is a big no-no due to construction & testing trade secrets getting revealed. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
No kidding -- When I was there I could only take pictures outside the plant and at the very first station.
It was an awesome experience!
Agreed! I toured the Deere combine plant and they’d have shot me if I’d pulled out a camera I think
Did they take you through the welding education? They showed virtual welders.
That doesn't seem very logical. Anyone off the street can take this tour of their facility, so how does videoing it prevent "the competition" from simply taking the tour and learning said "secrets?" It doesn't, because you're not going to learn any of ACGO's "secrets" from a factory tour. Everything you see here is what they want you to see.
Currently we are in August, we are into our main crop harvest in England. Thank you for always having a response to my comments!
Best farming 🚜 content on CZcams hands down. ✌ and God bless everyone and stay farmy.
As someone who has worked in manufacturing for twenty years I have to say this facility has an excellent product flow. Very impressive quality system with timely feedback. Also, the floating of labor is a huge benefit. Building each tractor to customer spec and no batching is so awesome to watch. I would work here in a heartbeat.
Zach thanks for taking us with you on this factory tour. Very interesting and educational. Great Video buddy!!
This video reminds me of when I worked at a smaller scale Emergency Vehicle assembly plant in western WA. I built and installed the 'made to order " custom wiring harnesses for ambulances. It was fun, we worked very well together and had amazing owners who always came by every morning and said hello to everyone. Great place to work before I started my own Automotive shop. Great video !!!! I haven't watched all of yours yet, but im working on it. Thanks for the trip down my own memory lane!
You seem to run a very clean, well kept, well run farm! All machinery is taken care of and everything is thouroughly checked. but i guess thats thanks to 5 generations ahead of you! Great videos and great to follow you on CZcams!
//Rob out of Sweden!
Just going through some of the older videos, had to watch this one again. Always interesting seeing how things are built and it's an extra bonus because I make the cab liners that go in those tractors.
These assembly lines are a tribute to behind the scenes roles Industrial Engineer’s play in creating efficient manufacturing facilities where quality tested products can be rolled out. Very few people actually understand the importance of the work of an Industrial Engineer and how they can make or break the success of any manufacturing facility. great video, well done Mr. Z
Soybean Farmer thank you! It was a great experience and definitely impressive
You are absolutely right. The fact that the line builds one tractor at a time, not the same tractor over and over. Someone has to work backwards to be sure all those different parts arrive where they need to be in that 2 hour timeframe to be assembled. It makes my head hurt just thinking about it.
Awesome! I'm glad you did this for all of us. I've been a Massey guy since i was a kid (many years ago). Dad always had them. Grandpa had his Massey Harris', Fergusons & Harris'
Thanks for taking us along. A very impressive process.
It's nice to see equipment this important to agriculture being "Made in America". Thanks for sharing.
I agree but curious what % of parts are made in America.
Cement Mason, They show them welding at least some of the parts after laser cutting the raw steel.
august everything but the engine and transmission are made in Jackson engine is Switzerland I want to say trans from Italy I think
RAKRail kubota is made in America 2 you need to test drive them that are awsome loader trackers
@@louieschrum1368 I wouldn't mind it drove a koiti once but that was ages ago always looking to drive new brands
That's a very advanced production facility. Very clean and well laid out .
Very cool! Thanks for sharing with us, I had no idea that was going on right here in Minnesota!
WOW~Excellent video, so clean in there. Thanks for the tour!
Great video I got the chance to tour that plant in Jackson in 2014 and a lot has changed since then
Wow that is really amazing to see the tractors etc being manufactured - especially how automated these huge plants have become. Thanks for taking us along. Cheers
Ian Robinson it was awesome
Wow! That's incredible! I didn't know AGCO made huge, big companies like that!
Probably one of the best, most educational and informative videos I've seen on CZcams!! You have a career as a documentary maker if the farming does not work out..!!!
I’ve been in alot of factories and each one is very interesting. They work at the same principle but different items. Amazing how things have come from henry ford days. Great video giving people a chance to see how it’s made. Thank you very much for sharing. Hope and pray you have a stellar year.
I've got a job interview at AGCO, Jackson as a welder come Friday. Pretty cool that one of my favorite youtubers got the tour for me. Lol
Great video, shows people in this country make tremendous equipment. Floors are clean and they have it down to a science. Very, very impressive!!! Thank you so much!!!
Jrbpa 57 thank you, and definitely very impressive!
Thanks for bringing us on the tour.
Mr. Henry Ford be smiling, great video get you a case of beer for this one
Thanks for taking me on the tour! It's awesome to see how all that comes together.
We run Valtras and customers are often invited to the factory in Finland to see them get built, it's great knowing that when you place an order, the machine that turns up in the yard was built from the ground up to your specification.
Ben Herron absolutely
Thanks for the great video tour, I really enjoyed it!
Wow ! What a video. An education. So much stuff I didn't know.
Great video! I love the interaction you had with the tour guide. So informative! You guys are really rocking those safety glasses.😀
Amazing video. ... been a heavy field mechanic for a lot of years never had the chance to see the other side..thanks for the grate video. ...

Welcome to the supply chain Zack! With me graduating with a degree in supply chain management, this was so cool. Thank you for sharing.
Incredible video!!! Really enjoyed it, congrats on your rapidly growing channel
That was so fascinating, Zach! That tour guide sure is knowledgeable. He must have been with the company for a long time to know so much. Maybe he even worked in the various building stages. I would love to go on a tour like that.
Love it I am glad you got to show the tour
I deliver high end main frames to places like that.never get see the operation most of the time
But sometimes I do
That was incredibly informative and not at all what I would have expected, having seen automobile assembly lines. Thank you!
Great tour video... thank you! Glad to see that they are built in the good ole USA! 🇺🇸
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time. Thanks for shooting it.we use to carry the fendt’s to Europe.
Awesome tour. Thanks for posting it.
I love factory tours! Thanks for posting.
That’s a really good video thank you for taking us along👍👍
Excellent. Wow modern assembly is so well done and organized for quality and timing. Building tractors as the orders come in... not all the same models but different models as those orders come in just terrific.
It never occurred to me there are made to order tractors.
Thanks for taking me along
Fantastic video; After 47 years in the transportation industry and many stints in assembly plants, I found this fascinating
Just finished visiting this plant with my dad. Can't wait to see your new green Fendt on tracks videos!
Very impressive/interesting! Thanks for the tour, enjoyed it very much. Great video.
Very nice video! A lot of great information. I’m still running my trusty JD2355; but it helps one dream. As always this video was chock full of great content. Enjoying from Indiana!
An awesome facility.. everything was so well planned and made easy to assemble with good quality..
WOW awesome video!! Big AGCO fan!
That was pretty cool! I remember once touring a fire apparatus factory RD Murray, when they were building our ladder truck. Kind of amazing how they did it all. Each unit is unique, as they're all custom built, so a lot of parts were fabricated as needed out of raw stainless steel. It wasn't on this scale, but it was similar in how it was laid out and done.
Awesome to see how a tractor is built and as he explains the process of every step and all robots know where each station is going to on assembly line and it is amazing to see.
Another great video Zach looking forward to part 2.. I have been in suspense since the Instagram Posts
Very nice, I have a relative that works there. Now you can “Man up with Massey”. Lol. You can stay green with a 2 track machine!
Been there multiple times very impressive place, use to deliver some product to them.... Peace, thanks for sharing with the community.....
I am only half way through but wanted to thank you and your family for allowing me to join you. So interesting. Back to the video.
Love factory tours, Thanks
Oh wow thats brilliant.
LOVE the new Fendt MT
Those tractors are massive
We have the same affinity for Deere on our farm as you all I’d say. Mainly from my grandfather and my Dad. I’d like our next tractor to be 1050 Challenger. Fast, plenty of power, and lightish on its feet.
echutch it drove really nicely!
Nice way to see a plant tour! Like all your videos!
I went to college in Jackson and took a tour of the plant one day. Very neat and educational tour for sure.
My company made the transmission testing unit before they paint them at about 4:30 to 5:30 in this video! It's nice to see it's still functioning for them!
WOW! Jackson, MN FTW!
Very impressive assembly plant. So high tech and organized, very cool thanks guys... cheers
Wow, an most excellent way to spend a day.
Great video! Thank you.
Thanks! It was nice to see where our Challenger was built. I've not been there yet. Very impressive.
That's a very in depth tour of all that takes place really cool.
Wow! That Fendt 10-series Vario over behind those two Massey's at 10:40, is awesome!!
Love it, very interesting. Thank You !
Cool stuff your showing us.
Impressive, also really cool that they let you film it. Not many companies (deere and deutz that I know off) will let you film their production line.
Thanks for the video.
Very interesting video . . and YES, I've played "Oregon Trail" on a computer like that one in the early 80's - the kids at the elementary school I volunteered for LOVED it.
I really enjoyed this. I started dairy farming after college and farmed until the government put me out of business. I got into the automotive as a process engineer. I spent the last 18 years working at Mercedes Benz US International in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I would be happy to organize a plant tour in you are interested. They just built a 1.2 million sq ft body shop and I believe around 2,000 robots.
Good assy line tour video, worth the watch. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome plant to tour. i have been there twice. Great People also!
I have been installing aluminum sprayer booms on the first couple set's they took delivery of.
Awesome place & people
Awesome thanks!
Wow this was an amazing video. Thanks for sharing it ! I really enjoyed it.
Love your videos your videos make me so happy I love watching you
Awesome video !! Thank you so much !! I built jet engines for years and saw a lot of the same type of production aspects of our assembly plant incorporated here !! Pretty cool !! Nice to see an CLEAN, WELL RUN production plant !
