    I am a 5th generation family farmer from West-Central Minnesota. The recent interest in food, combined with a large amount of 'misinformation' has driven me to start this channel. I hope to be someone people can relate to and trust when they question how their food is grown and raised. I also hope to become a 'smarter' farmer through my experiences with this channel. I strongly believe we must have an open mind and a willingness to learn about others, or we cannot move forward as one. My goal is to build the connection between farmers and consumers by facilitating a collaborative conversation amongst everyone. I do this by sharing my day-to-day farming experiences, my opinions on certain topics, and occasionally visiting other farms and businesses to help better understand other farming and business practices. There is no limit to where this channel may go, so please join me!!

    Great job, love the duals on combine and tracks on planter, I agree with less compaction, I run 800 metric on our 9500 in southern Illinois, also love you keeping history alive with the G 750. I have a 1971 Oliver 1755, but by then ,both MM and Oliver were owned by White. Great to see them older tractors still alive, we only farm little over 100 acres, do it all with Oliver equipment, do well over 1400 custom with 9500 combine all three crops. Keep up the good work.

      @MillennialFarmer  Před 6 lety +14

      corey rogers one thing I've learned is every farm is so different and some guys just enjoy working hard and don't value clean equipment as much as others. To each their own I say, but we like to keep things clean if we can.

      Dirty farms. Imagine.

    • @farmerintheboot4089
      @farmerintheboot4089 Před 6 lety +5

      It should be noted not every farm is like this. Some if not most just get by. And as far as being organized and clean everyone does things their own way. The way that works best for them. Some don’t have the resources in order to put sheds up and have updated equipment. My dad has struggled for 40 years feeding cattle and farming a little land. We’ve used the same old worn out equipment for decades. It’s too expensive for us to update. And as far as the equipment being clean well we have a feed yard it’s never clean. So when you say a lot of farmers have no organization and have nasty dirty farms. I’m sure they wish they could have a farm like the one in the video, I do. But like I said it most likely isn’t in their means. Don’t degrade farms that looks nasty compared to this one, doesn’t mean they don’t care maybe they’ve had a rough go at it. Farming used to be dirty. Personally I’d like to see fewer large operations and more smaller farms.

      @dcmkcbbq Před 5 lety +2

      When your machinery is clean it makes it a lot easier to spot oil leaks, loose fasteners, stress/fatigue cracks, cracked hydro lines, etc... Not to mention it's a lot easier working on a machine that's clean. Also, a lot of items used on the farm and produced by the animals on the farm can be rather corrosive. So a good bath can help keep corrosion at bay.

    Thanks so much for the tour. One of the fun things to do on the farm for us was the rock picker. Don't know why, just seemed like a lot of fun. I grew up on the farm but it was back in the day. Our tractor of choice was the Farmall Super M. Didn't know what a cab was. If you were really high dollar you might have had a heat houser. All our corn was harvested with a two row picker. We were general farmers. Raised hogs, cows, beef cattle. Lot less equipment headaches back then.

    Nice to see the lineup
    . When we went from 8 to a 12 row corn head we have been able to keep up pretty well. Have a few guys running trucks. Sometimes about 3 or 4 PM you'll catch up then u can stop and do some maintenance and fuel up. There are about 220 of those g750 made.

    Just upgraded from a 9600 to a 9770 combine , exicted to see how it goes this harvest. And tracks are best to be rented, few years back when we had an incredibly wet harvest we rented tracks and put the saved money towards tileing our wettest ground.

    I grew up farming, but am now in a different industry that mean moving away from home. I miss it some times. I remember learning to drive the 4020 and getting to disc before burning stubble. I learned to drive a combine on a new Holland 995. I ran a TX96 a few years ago, but most of these machines I'd have no idea how to run anymore.
    Keep up the hard work.

    Oliver tractors have a special place in my heart because my uncle had one that looked just like that, but it was actually in the Oliver colors he still has it, but I no longer get to see him because he lives so far away there are times where he would hook up his front loader to it and lift us up to the apple trees, and weed pick apples and wash them I miss Oliver tractors.

    An online interactive stable of traction rich muscle machines to furrow, flip, penetrate, enrich, plant and harvest an often moisture laden growing medium while looking very stylish. Why didn't you say so? For protection I would recommend parking that Corvette in my garage. Just sayin'
