how many acres do you farm???
One of my past favorite jobs, cleaning and power washing the combine! Glad I went to college. After I paid my school loan off, I quit working on a farm. Fun driving the equipment, sucks cleaning it and when it breaks down. Even more fun is cleaning the grain pit and elevator house. Rats as big as dogs. My most memorable moment, combining beans on Thanksgiving morning and breaking an axle on the combine. Even mor fun after it started to drizzle rain mixed with snow. Instead of jacking the combine up, all we did was push the jack further in the ground. Memories!
Thanks for covering us all in crop dust when cleaning the combine ;) Love to see the equipment shuffle, you went quite "deep" into detail Zach (that's what she said) :)
Reminded me of one of those puzzle games where you have to move the pieces in just the right sequence. Been thinking about the truck battery issue. Wonder if it would be feasible to:
1) Build a battery tray to hold both batteries kept wired together. Also with a strap or strap attachments.
2) Instead of going directly to truck wiring have battery wires end in a pigtail with a quick connect/disconnect.
3) Have truck wiring end in mating quick connect/disconnect.
4) When parking truck remove battery tray with batteries and store inside.
5) Bonus feature. When stored hook quick connect to trickle charger.
Just a thought.
A 19 min video is exactly what i need after a long school day.
Amen
Double Amen on 19 min video.
He could put up a 45 minute video and I would stay with it!!!!!!
Shew....man what a bunch of expensive equipment...insane what it takes to be a profitable farm in this country! Makes my little farm channel and homestead look like peanuts...always a pleasure to see what's happening on your place!
Cool to see you here!
All farms are different and yet the same! I admire your work ethic and what you do for your homestead.
I loved your chainsaw review video. God Bless from Phoenix.
It been studied many times and the "in between" farms are almost always on the best financial footing. The BTOs are too far in debt and the little guys are not big enough to negotiate deals on seed, fertilizer, feed etc.
All farm's are different. Not all farm's need expensive equipment to be profitable. Usually it's the opposite
I am liking the longer videos. Thank you for showing what you do on the farm. I really enjoy learning what farmers do require or not. From cleaning, organizing, and servicing, much respect is earned and more people need to know.
Probably one of your best ones yet. The old sayings "like a kitten at a milk pail" make me smile every time I hear them. Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!
Love watching behind the scenes on a big farm operation. Farmers just seem to be able to fix things, etc, without any formal training, and just get it done. Thank you for sharing. God Bless from Phoenix.
Being Canadian, I am all too familiar with the sprint, from squirting the starter fluid in the air intake to the cab to start her up. 😆
I love the cleaning parts. That's what I love about farming. Make sure everything is ready for harvest and planting.
I'm like 25-30 min north of Glenwood. It's nice watching your videos. Nothing beats Minnesota farm work
"left over food, left over food" hahaha thanks for the beginning of the work day laugh!
Love the 'that's what she said'. Gonna miss the vids this winter.
A well place TWSS is always a win. :)
@@ThisFarmWife_twss
Joel K I see what you did there 😉
I'm sure there will be some content over the winter. Maybe not a lot though
Nice to see you back on the air again after your little hiatus. Hasn’t been all that much warmer down here in Chicago but you guys definitely got more snow than we have. Really looking forward to that “farm financials” video if you can put one together. Not knowing anything about the business of farming I have to think that there is a lot of risk management involved. Stay warm.
Great vid! love how u use the skid steer to put the header comb away! So unique! Keep up the good work! God bless you and your family!
We took our combine& heads to Deere. It was worth every penny spent. Had no break downs
Hell yea! Always ready for a new MN video 🤠❤️
Love the new merchandise, will definitely be ordering one. Id really like to see a 1/4 zip pullover
Great team together...sure your both very grateful for one another's presence
MN Millennial Farmer is the key to not have a boring day. Awesome job!
quick release brackets for the displays are one of the best things ever... I pull mine out every day.
I hope y'all had a great Harvest up that way! It was pretty good down here in Tennesse and the Moisture was perfect. Have a Nice Day MN.
Winter ideas, corn price, crop insurance, cash rent cost, land price per acre, input cost and most of all your off the farm life. I seen a snowmobile, a motorcycle and sea doos. Have you ever met Brock Lesnar? He lives by you on lake Ida. Ordered hoddie, I like the MN logo a lot!
My favorite videos are when you move all of the machinery around! I love the John Deere Shuffle!
Thanks for always providing great lunch break entertainment
Thanks for the new video Zach. I hope more are upcoming soon.
Your vids keep getting better and better man. This one was awesome! I know it was just moving equipment around and no actual farming, but keeping us in the loop as you went about the day and sharing what you were doing was perfect. A little bit here, a little bit there. Also loving the corky humor you throw in. Keep up the great work!!! I'll definitely be buying one of your shirts :)
it's always good to get the equipment indoors for the winter.
Hope you had a happy thanksgiving 🦃! It’s always fun cleaning up all the equipment!
Immer wieder gut die Videos. Und auch oft etwas zum Lächeln. Danke.
I have to tell you it was quite humorous to watch you teasing the cat and then call him "Tux". We have a Tux as well 👍
Nothing wrong with sending equipment in. I’m s mechanic and I even send stuff to the shop because either I honestly don’t feel like working on it or it’s a little bit out of my league or I simply don’t have time for it!
dirtshower250 opportunity cost is definitely to be considered
Getting another set of eyes on it never hurts.
Thanks for sharing another fantastic show Zach. I wonder how many people understood the kitten and bowl of milk joke?? Cheers 🍩☕️🥓🍺🥓🍺
Love the Moline in this vid, reminds me of the hand clutch rear mount unit I drove growing up. Propane powered!
Absolutely love your videos. Currently sitting at the Chevy dealer getting my 2500 serviced, this video was perfect timing to help me waste time.
That Minneapolis moline still purrs like a kitten 👍 cool video
Working at a Midwest Machinery John Deere Dealer in the Service Department. I've seen combine inspections that have caught major defects that saved motors. we had one combine come in for an inspection that was found to have coolant in the oil. The oil cooler was shot and the head was warped. thankfully it was caught before it went kablamo.
You crack me up with “That’s what she said “ because every time I say something my son says that so I laugh every time you write that !! Keep up farming not to many left in my area it’s awesome to see you guys still doing it love the machines “ nothing runs like a deer John Deere “
Well. Day off from work today due to snow. So I’ll be watching Millennial Farmer today.
1:29 Thanks pal! Needed some Minnesota corn dust blown in my face. Breathe deep.
Hi all, new to this channel and new to vlogs too. Like MN Millennial I am a 5th generation farmer on a 2500 acre farm but down under in Oz. We have crop (wheat, barley, canola, oats) but also beef cattle and sheep (wool). It blows me away that we are harvesting at the same time of the year, you in freezing conditions, us in the heat of summer. Your harvest defies everything I know about harvesting in 100F heat. Actually November is early for us, but bad drought has us harvesting our pitiful 10-20 bsh/acre ( says me trying to convert from metric) now. I can tell from your equipment levels that corn and soy in MN is a lot more lucrative than cereals, pulses and oilseeds are here. But then you'll pay at least half again as much for the same equipment here in Australia as you do in the US. Anyway, a wonderful insight into farming in the cold. It only gets below freezing a dozen times a year here and that's enough for me!
Saw 5 Minneapolis Moline tractors at a pumpkin patch yesterday and made me think of yours. Lark Ranch in Loogootee, IN. Cool place to take kids in October.
It’s so cool to see you run so many different machines and vehicles in one day
Another great video from Minnesnowta!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do miss living there :)
Thanks for sharing your day with us Zack. I'm sorry for your loss...I didn't realize you were so sensitive. I hope you can finally have closure regarding the passing of your bird friend. Too funny Zack!! :-) Keep your videos coming Zack. Have safe travels to the conference.
With how advanced the machinery is now days it’s better to have the pros do there thing so everything works right
MegaJACK126 gets mighty expensive though 😬😬
Very nice and good luck with washing all the other epuipment trough the years!
watching the south of the UK absolutely love watching this everyday good work - AL in portsmouth
Always Great to see the equipment shed shuffling.. I know a LOT of people would be quaking in their boots parkin something that expensive THAT close to other very expensive equipment... I bet some of the most simple stuff to you is sooo intimidating to everybody else... I'm still too nervous to change my valve cover gasket w/o an extra car to drive cause I'm sure I'll mess it up worse then the quart it already leaks out every 20 miles
Man, amazing array of beautiful GREEN equipment! So hard to get new equipment these days
Hi Zack, I love all your videos and the witty comments. I'm not a farmer but I am a Minnesotan would love to come and visit sometime. Just bought a sweatshirt and a t-shirt keep the videos coming.
What a roller coaster of emotions this video was. We had a sea of green, which brought joy to my heart. Then the bird who tragically passed away...fly free, little angel. Then back to classic 'TWSS' jokes and Zach humor. THIS VIDEO HAD EVERYTHING!!!!....except actual farming, but I LOVE IT EITHER WAY!!!!!
I thought it turned out ok for a non farming video!
Moving equipment around is like half of what you do as a farmer anyway, so think that counts as farming.
Yummies left over ... vary enjoyable yet Entertaining
Your sense of humor is so funny Zach. Love it lol
Looks like Tux had enough bird to eat on Thanksgiving! Everything looks buttoned up for the winter and it sounds like you guys are in the farmhouse now. Should be a great Christmas. (But aren't they all when you've got little guys runnin' around)!
Nice video. I like your sense of humor.
Thats what She said.... Last words of a great man.... lol Love the videos man...
Perfect road to get muddy with your big green machines!
Love how you were wearing Challenger shirt when driving JD to dealer.
Some Machines! 😎🤘your vlogs cool to see how big things are in American farms 🚜
Awesome Awesome video, all that green is a beautiful site. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Can't wait for the next video.
Man I can't get enough of the green love it love it nothing runs like a Deere
Sitting here watching you get ready to wash and store equipment because it’s to cold for me to wash my truck before work tonite. It’s 36 feels like 27 here in south west ky. Guess I’m just a wimp lol definitely could not live many miles north of here hahah great videos as usuall.
Just wanted to say thank you for the great videos been watching for quite some time just never realized I hadn't subscribed to your channel again thanks for what you are doing 👍😁
Like the Minnapolis Moline with the Westendorf loader!
The Blue and White kenworth you have is nice truck. We rented it for a spring Nice truck. Keep up the great work we love your Videos Matt. Maybe someday you can catch us in our food wagon up in your neck of the woods.
When it comes time to replace the skid steer, another great option is a small wheel loader. I had a W80 New Holland and it worked amazingly. Visibility, Ride, Power are all much better on the loader.
I feel itchy just from watching you blow off the dirt from that combine. Plus you're one of the very few farmers I know who take the time to clean their machines
man keep going, your vlogs are awesome!
Combine inspections pay for themselves if you ask me. We have our 9770 inspected every year and we never have any major breakdowns. All we broke this year was an unload chain. That's it. Money well spent!
Watched my boss as a kid when I was working on the farm back 2 hay wagons hooked together into the shop at the same time with the old JD 4020, he was working them tire brakes like a bulldozer and backed them right up next to the wall, made me feel insignificant while trying to maneuver just one hay wagon 😂
Nick Carr take a bit of practice 😉
Excellent as always!!❤️❤️👍👍
I flinched hardcore when you blew the dirt and stuff at the camera 😂
Another great video Zack. Always something needing done that's for sure. Wow, packing that Green equipment in like sardines....LOL I'll bet the deer and pheasants appreciate all that extra corn you blew off.
Think 1 big barn, for other stuff that stays outside ,expansif o well 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️thx for sharing
You need the fold kit for your snouts on the bean head. They are available from Sloan express. Folds your points over in about 5 minutes and makes transporting and storage easy.
dude your sense of humor is great😂😂😂😂😂😂
A father and son working together without calling each other names and yelling fantastic 😃
Every time you said yep it reminded me of Dave from storage wars..yeeepppp!!.😂
Dude I love your vidis I like how you don’t do it for money you do it for entertainment and to teach us
Zach, You need to either purchase or rent a large diesel power air compressor to clean combine up, can do a better job and it is twice as fast vs a leaf blower, they also work awesome for cleaning up the dryer/around the dryer bins.
Zach a little trick I learned while starting diesels during cold winter days, this is when you have no either to enhance start ups, take a rag and pour gasoline on it and have someone hold or attach the rag against the air intake filter the gas fumes will react similar to either and start a cold diesel, you may already know this if not give it a try one day just to check it out, good luck...
“Are you ok? Are you ok?” -continues to kick bird
Called working smarter not harder no one can fault you for that 👍👏
I used to do a lot of HD truck towing in northern ND. The number of trucks that had power service in the fuel and were gelled up was unbelievable. We used a product called polar power and it worked so much better than that power service stuff
Keep up the great work. 😊
Here in Oregon, you don't normally here "30°" and "warm" used in the same sentence. Especially in the winter 😂
The GMO Dust just hit the camera lense! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 lol
That’s what she said😂 I love it
Loved the website, let me know when you're going to be around Tennessee again, I also love the idea about the map in FS 19, I also play it so that would be awesome
Greetings from Poland is such a country in the middle of Europe;) A great channel, many interesting things you can learn and, above all, what the agriculture in the US looks like. Millennial Farmer has reached the ocean, keep it up;)
Another set of eyes looking the combine over never hurts either
Thank you for the great video. Helps the virgins out in Wal-Mart land get SOME insight of what REALITY IS LIKE ON THE FARM
Great vid Zack. The JD ASI’s are money well spent.
Love all the Deere stuff for sure but that ol Minnie Mo is pretty cool!
Hi, Yes looking after your Merchandary is Top check them every time you go to use them. Never go wrong keeping them all toped up.
Excellent operation
Love your vids keep up the great work
Best farm channel hope to see 2019 harvest👍
