Corn Harvest 2022 at Crossroad Farms in Indiana

- In this video I am out at Crossroad Farms near Williamsport Indiana as they get started on harvesting their 2022 corn crop. In this video they are running their John Deere X9 1000 combine with a Deere C18F corn head. This is a 18 row corn head on 20 inch spacing and also a chopping corn head that can be filed up on the combine for transport. Also in the video you will see them hauling the grain from field to truck using their John Deere 9620RX Tractor pulling a Brent Avalanche 2596 grain cart on tracks.

Great video mike, I’m glad you made it back out there for corn harvest. I see a lot of the 8rx tractors on those straight auger grain carts, seems like a real long look back to the auger from the cab.
I hope you will continue to show us your traditional cooking. It’s better than watching all those world famous chefs . Also your traditional attire and lifestyle are so wholesome , healthy and peaceful. It’s very soothing watching your videos . It takes a barrel of oil to produce a gallon of ethanol. Insane.

That grain cart is massive! Does it take more than one truck to unload into?

That machine can sure eat and it spreads the chopped stalks nicely too. That grain cart is friggin huge! How wide are the tracks on it? Looks like 46-48 inches?
I think the tracks are just 36 inches wide.

I am impressed with how the X9 combine is able to chop up the chaff into smaller pieces, this will make it easier for the chaff to break down into useful compost much quicker than larger pieces of chaff.
It's the corn head not so much as the combine itself chopping the residue.. these chopping corn heads are getting more popular with farmers for the reasons you mentioned and works great for no tilling next years crop

I bet corn can be used to make corn oil, which is I use to make hash browns for breakfast.
I feel like the only thing that could make it more efficient was if the companies would figure out how to make the shoot able to do either side
That idea is as old as the first combine. Never been implemented by any manufacturer. Probably not worth it.

Sweet machines! And yeah I can imagine there's a need for corn because here in North Carolina, our yields were low due to a dry growing season. We Finished harvesting Thursday!

Combine does a good job cleaning the corn considering how much material going through the concave. I guess it is green so there wouldn't be a lot of debris. I almost said "He' gonna need a bigger truck! But it looked like he emptied the cart...or did he? Great video Mike!
That cart full would fill 2.5 trucks.

I believe that cart will hold more than 2 semi loads!!!
That a 2500 bushel cart, 30% corn full that cart is around 150000lbs I'm guessing

So she's turning nearly 743hp almost 800hp wit our new 13.6 liter power tech pss 830's diesel engines in the X9-1100 combine there are two 13.6 liter power tech diesel engines our pss is twin turbo chargers on the X9-1100 and one turbo vgt on the X9-1000 13.6 liter pws 830's diesel engine!!!!
What’s the thrashing capacity of the X9’s Deere? Is it a multi on the offload number of 4.5 bushel per second?
Deere site doesn’t show anything about it.
They've been saying 7200 bushels per hour for years. Wet corn like this capacity would be cut in half.

Thanks but I used to do machinery videos many years ago and not talk. However I had lots of requests to explain what's going on in the videos I shoot and started doing the voiceovers for that reason. I have a 98.5% like versus dislike on my channel so for that reason I will keep doing what I'm doing.
