  • The Iowa Farm Damage is pretty unbelievable. It's unlike anything I've ever seen in my lifetime. Thank you to the Iowa farmers who took time out of there days to show me around. Early on in the trip I made a quick stop at an equipment auction and for a quick minute I thought I bought my first combine.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

The devastation is heartbreaking... but the reclamation and support is heartwarming. God Bless the USA and the farmers that feed the world!

As a former Iowa farm boy, I want to thank you for taking the time to highlight the devastation of the corn crops and farms in Iowa. It was heartbreaking to see such damage but very impressive to see, once again, the resilience of the Iowa farm communities.

The lineman that put my lines back up after my shed tore them down, were from Montreal Canada.

Thank you for giving Iowa some attention. The rest of the country does not seem to be interested.

I've been sharing Cole the Cornstars recent videos and now this one, simply because the national media doesn't give a crap about American Farmers and the shortages that will result from this. We need to share these videos to help get the word out and help any way we can. Especally, during the current situation we are all facing. Thank Zack for sharing.

As a British farmer now producing hay in Spain, I sympathise totally. Farmers are the same wherever you are in the world - we all face the same challenges and unlike most professions we rely heavily on luck and nature to provide our livelihoods. I strongly believe a career in Agriculture is the best job in the world - but it is also one of the hardest and can be one of the most volatile. Sending thoughts and hope that everyone affected will be able to rebuild and afford to replant for a better harvest next year. The world needs our farmers.

I actually felt emotional during this Zac, the emotions on your face shows just how much you care for your fellow farmers. Thanks for sharing, it must of been hard to film.

"I'm a lineman for the county, I drive the main roads." Couldn't resist the song reference. Great video Zach and prayers and best of luck to all the affected farmers.

Throughout all the damage, stress, and sorrow Farmers deal with. I would just like to thank ALL the farmers for all they do. THANK YOU for what you do for us.

  • @RockBrigadeCommunityForum

Much respect Zach for letting the farmers tell their stories. Nice to see the Cornstars, they were hit also. Having grown up farming I have a soft spot for farming and you feel it when you see farmers facing more stress and the unknown. Thanks

I knew it was bad, but your video was the first one of its kind to visit the state like you did since the storm. Thank you Zach for taking the time like you did. I'm with everybody else......very emotional. You know that not all the farmers are gonna recover from this and it breaks my heart 💔. And thank you for letting everyone share their faith. In this day and age....some may have edited those parts out. It was a good way to end the day at Coles!! Love all you CZcams farmers that I watch and think about and pray for you everyday!

Thanks for making the trip and using your voice to help "tell the story". Quick math: even after crop insurance, the example you used of $60 PER ACRE short of "breaking even", on 1,000 acres of corn, that's $60,000 "in the hole" of just of the cost to put that crop in the ground. My family's farms SW of Montour, IA sustained significant damage: corn crop is 100% loss, along with two machine sheds, two cattle barns (both just 5 years old) and two older gain bins - all GONE. The most striking thing about this storm is how widespread the damage is. Thanks again for adding your voice on behalf of Iowa's farmers, farm families and small towns impacted by this monster storm. God bless you brother!
