    Dear Mike,I am electrical engineer by profession (India) and seriously involved in doing exercise and understanding exercise physiology. I listened all the 4-parts attentively. Now my ideas are crystal clear. Your way of teaching is excellent. Please produce more vdos to explain vo2 max etc etc. 🙏👏👏👏

    Hi Mike, can you expand upon "leaking membranes"? From context, if the chemistry worked flawlessly and no leaking membranes there can be 38 ATP produced instead of 34 ATP.

    Do you think that is why the first mile of my runs are hard, once i get through my first mile i find it alot easier. its because im waiting for my aerobic system to kick in.
    also hope this isnt a stupid question but is this the same system we use for everyday activity as we are always using our muscles? i dont understand why the recovery time is 24-48 hours if we are always doing Aerobic respiration?

    I’ve no background in biology, so this might be a silly question. Can the oxygen produced as a byproduct of this system also be used as a source of oxygen here?

    Can you please explain how can we get out bodies prioritize burning fat instead of carbs? The body default setting is to burn the carbs. So if person is trying to get rid of fat who would we do it? KETO? Thank you

    • @miketylersport
      @miketylersport  Před 3 lety +2

      If you want to get rid of excess stored fat, ultimately you need to create an energy deficit. There are lots of ways you can do this, through manipulation of diet and exercise. Keto would be one valid method among others.

    cna you clarify what the guy in survival was talking aboutwhen he said insnow when we stuck some where we burning a lot and by product is poisonous so people need to take some carbs , ishe talking about lactic acid what is he talking about ? becaue here yo8usay it has no dangerous by products .

    • @miketylersport
      @miketylersport  Před rokem

      Hi Gissie, have a look at the concept of 'lactate shuttle' to clarify the current understanding of the role of lactate and lactic acid. We no longer consider lactate to be a negative or harmful by product but a normal part of the aerobic system.

    • @miketylersport
      @miketylersport  Před 4 lety +1

      Yep, I don't go into too much detail on the Krebs Cycle or the Electron Transport Chain in the video, but you are right that they are both parts of the Aerobic Energy System.
