They applied the STRoke technique of identifying a stroke! If you ever suspect someone of having a stroke ask them 3 things and if they fail any they may be having a stroke and you should call an ambulance ASAP (no saving money here if you want to save a life, sadly)
S: Stick out your tongue (in her case it came out crooked which is bad)
T: Talk to me, ask them to tell you about their day, the weather and see if they slur their words (when asked about her birth month I understood “abril” instead of April
R: Reach, ask them to reach for something, if they show difficulty doing so then they may be having a stroke
Strokes are simple but lethal, it only takes seconds to remove it, but it only takes minutes for it to take your life
The hospital that I go to say "Smile" because half of their face won't go up instead of "stick out your tongue". Small difference just thought it was interesting.

Better question is if the guy called 911 and said his wife is acting strange and picked up some random accent she’s never had, why the fuck did they send the cops and not an ambulance? Did the operator even bother to send what information they gathered from the call to the cops to indicate that it’s not a domestic?
That's what I'm wondering. Also, why didn't the cops know the husband called before hand? Shouldn't the dispatcher be relaying this crucial information to the cops before hand so they know the situation they're entering into? I'm shocked you're the only comment I've seen talking about this
Maybe because they are feminists.
I might be wrong, but 2 explainations: either that is during the plotpoint pf one of the dispatchers at 911 habging up the phone without sending anyone, or they are on the way.
The cops are there, because the wife called saying her husband has a knife and is trying to break down the door
Pretty much if they think its a domestic cops are coming and if its a domestic its almost a guarantee the guy is leaving in cuffs. No questions asked. People will come after me for saying this but thats just a fact.

Bilingual Afasia...I have seen it once at my hospital I work at! The woman fell and hit her head and woke up a few days later with an Irish accent and speaking Gaelic. That shit was terrifyingly awesome. Til thus day she still has the accent and even went to Ireland and shocked the locals when they asked her what part she was from, lol.
Nah bullshit sorry. In these cases people change accents but the language they already knew. The “bilingual” in “bilingual aphasia” means the person knew two or more languages already.
As amazing as brain is, it cannot suddenly know a whole set of new words and grammatical rules it has never seen or heard before.
You know it's crazy when it even fools the locals
Wait how does one even learn a language like that? Don't they have to have prior knowledge of said language and dialect? Does one even actually learn a language they have never spoken before?
@@firstnamelastnamethirdname
I've heard that usually they learned it when they were younger, and just forgot how to speak it.
Supposedly in some cases, while they never learned it, they had heard the different language often. Their brain then latches onto that language amd they start "speaking" it. Usually entirely wrong. They just spew words from the language thinking it's correct.
@firstnamelastnamethirdname She has never been to Ireland in her life, and her parents are from New Jersey. Til this day, it still bogles everyone's mind. She has tried going to a speech therapist and a vocal coach that teaches american accents, but she goes right back into her Irish accent, and she just made peace with it.

I think because women and children are generally physically weaker, so they need to make sure the weaker one is safe before figuring out if it's true or not. Because if the physically stronger one is the real danger, then they are generally harder to take control of and more dangerous. It's the same how a minor could accuse an adult of rape and they will take their word for it and arrest the adult before checking to see if it is true or not.

Always assume the guy is the bad guy. He points out her ignorance, she ignores him about not decide to charge him, then tells her again, and then she thinks SHE is brilliant one guessing a stroke.
Doesn't arrive and ask who called 911, what is going on, be a responsible officer, instead of being an ignorant bigot. This s how bad they write cop scenes.
The show is terribly written but he was acting aggressive and she was acting confused and distressed
That's standard operating procedure in some areas. Arrest the man, deal with the rest later.
Not actually it's another about thinking who's in the wrong or right it's 2 people in distress and they need to be separated and questioned on what's going on. The show makes it look bad as they have it seem like he's being arrested. In most irl cases as calm as this they will just be walked to different areas. Only in big blow out cases do people end up in cuffs.
Yea, this show always helps the women. Even when the woman does something bad, they act like she didn't do anything wrong. A guy does something less bad, and the female cop threatens him and then arrests him and uses way more force on him than the women
IIRC, they got two 911 calls at the same time
my best friend's mom was acting strange, not cleaning her house, cussing, not bathing, not answering her phone, very irritable, her sister called her from Texas, complaining about their mom getting old and losing her mind. When she was ranting about all the stuff her mom had or hadn't done in that week, my best friend (we were in GA) told her sister to call an ambulance, her mother had a stroke. Her sister wouldn't listen, my friend had to call the Sheriff for a well check and explain why she thought it was a stroke. Her mom was combative, but they listened and took her to the Hospital. Turned out she had had 6 mini strokes during that week, by the time my friend got to Texas that next day, it was 9, and 2 more in the hospital. Apparently altered personality is a huge sign. Her mother was a neat freak, constantly cleaning, always taking care of herself and her house and always clean, didn't use foul language and was a generally sweet lady before the strokes.
"Argy bargy every chewsday fortnight or so"
Got me on the floor bro😂😂😂😂
If you suspect you’re having a stroke, even if it’s minor symptoms GO TO THE ER IMMEDIATELY!! You have a very short window of time (6 hours) to take medication that can be the difference of becoming partially paralyzed and have brain damage or not.

Yeah. It’s like. At least ASK what’s happening first. AND surely they are the ones who should KNOW what person was the one to call 911 in the first place. Surely
They both called the police, and they come in and she's saying go away leave her alone and he's aggressively banging on the door. This looked like a dv situation, ESPECIALLY since he has an injury on his head and he's banging on the door and yelling.
They don't know what's going on so the safest option is to put him in handcuffs. Charges don't get immediately pressed they would have done an investigation to figure out what happened between them first.
Plus when 95 percent of violence is committed by men then saying "not all guys are bad" doesn't make sense for a police officer to think because of how many men they arrest.
@@gothicvomit4894What if a woman was with a injury on her head and the guy says that she should leave him alone, wouldn't you still think that the victim was the woman either way?

She didn't arrest, she detained. He was acting aggressive and had something in his hand. Therefore she detained him(putting him in cuffs and sitting him on the stairs) in order to check on the woman who was simply confused and distressed and possibly having a medical emergency. She also called 911 saying he had a knife and was attacking her. Cops came into a scene of a person who locked themselves into a room and was screaming "go away" to a person trying to get into the room. Yes they detained him so they could access the room. When she opened the door she looked distressed and panicked and had bruises on her arm. So if you're an honest person, you'd know the one trying to get into the locked door looks suspicious, more so when the person locked in is panicked and has fingerprint bruises on them.
And if she was abusive towards him, do you really think he'd be trying to still help her? He knew she wasn't her usual self. I love it how it's always the guy who gets arrested first and never questioned till first
"Mam do you smell burning toast?"
Any explaination please??
she had a stroke so her brain was mixing things up and because she loves to watch a british tv show (Downton Abbey I think), her brain gave her that accent. The cops thought her husband was the bad guy because in her confusion (bc of the stroke) she called 911 because she thought her husband was attacking her.
In the end, the husband did nothing wrong it was just the woman who needed medical attention. Luckily the first responders realised she was having a stroke and could help her in time.
my first assumption was multiple personality @@loujack4282
Dissociative personality - two per sonalities
Sorry, you are completely incorrect. Both in terms of the context and the information.
The guy calls 911 about his wife then proceeds to get arrested himself....
She called 911 first. The cops responded to her call, EMS only came later from his call.
I don’t know what the 911 call was or what information was relayed to the first responders, but when they arrived in the scene she’s behind a locked door yelling go away and he is trying to gain entrance. So he looks like the aggressor even though he’s the one with the injury
ikr, these people should never become police lol
Officer: “sir hands in the air”
Officer: *Detains him before he can put his hands up*
The fact they arrested him with no warning is so real tho
Wheres that one guy who explains everything 😅😅
That was so funny 😮 she just started speaking british slang 😂😂
An English person definitely didn’t chime in on that script for her 😂
'those are some world class hiccups' 😭😭😭😭😭
I lived in the UK (love it!!!) for several years. With two police officers as housemates, and their British colleague pals.and in all that time never, ever, EVER heard the term “Bobbie’s.” Was always “cops” or “coppers.”
Bobbies was an old term for London police a long time ago. As you say its mainly cops in England and us scottish say polis
Just like the cops to show up find a man with a bloody head wound having been called by him for help and immediately arrest him. Cops are the best at knowing they are correct having asked no questions jumping 10 miles to the furthest conclusion. All it took was two questions and he wouldn't have needed to be in cuffs, but no that would be outrageous.
Love this episode😂
“Oh good!😊…. what OH😟🤨” 😭😭😭
That's right blame the man they called you and assumed when he's showing no signs of being threatening this is a real representation of the cops
If you think someone is having a stroke, ask them to smile. Half of their face won't be able to.
Good advice but some people with strokes will be able to smile just fine. It can present in so many different ways. Always better to be safe than sorry and go to the hospital if one is suspected
I was studying for college finals with a friend at his house. I had been up over 24 hours. He said I suddenly was acting like I was sleep walking and started saying phrases in French. I did have French classes in 10th and 11th grade. He was able to wake me up and I didn’t remember anything.
I had to rewatch it to notice that he said oh good when the cops first showed up
Man: i called 911
Officers: arrest him
Immediately cuffing the man and about to haul him away even when he committed no crimes. Pretty accurate depiction of the police.
I would sue the police for false assumptions & escalating the situation
